Tuned Car List

These original tunes are initially with stock weight and power (no engine swaps), and mostly with the Fully Customizable parts that allow controlling a car or improving handling for our challenging Monday Night Racing weekly races. Reasonable tires that don't over-do grip are selected because they can unmask handling or driver problems, which makes for better problem solving.

If given enough time, enhanced arias are possible, but, for the most part, the necessary Fully Customizable parts (Suspension, Manual or Racing Transmission, Differential) are used to actually tune a car, plus the mitigating parts (Brake Balance Controller, Ballast, Power Limiter) that do not increase the PP limit of a car. Enhanced tunes go further, to either reach a specific PP target or to enhance the handling of difficult cars.

I also tune to target or eliminate specific handling issues, such as oversteer on curve exits and loss of traction when the chassis is unloaded, tire wear, etc. This should help these settings appeal to most drivers. Your useful feedback on how well you drive with my arias will tell me how successful I was at doing this.

Suzuki Swift Gr.4

This is a tune based on the response of Measure recalculations by GT7. It doesn't seem to be any better or worse than my own tune, so take that as you will. The PP limit was 670, for MNR.

Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE Package 2018

The AI use Sport Medium tires very well, but I struggled on them before tuning. This tune was updated to allow better control when the chassis is unloaded at the crests of hills. The differential was updated to settings that allow better control of the rear-end. The Initial Torque could be adjusted to 15, but you will be pushing its limits.

Renault Clio R.S. 220 Trophy 2016

This is a minimalist tune, because, frankly, how often will you be running this tame hatchback? The normal differential works properly, at least until the tires wear down. Unless you are going to run it on long tracks, you don't really need a customisable transmission. Even the default tires offer more grip than you will probably ever need. Having said that, using the customisable suspension will make it handle better, overall.

Ford Mustang Boss 429 1969

This is an impressive old, muscle car that gives amazingly consistent lap times when tuned. This is a 7 liter engine (427 nominal) with tons of torque, at 9.5 lbs per HP, so use it to your advantage.

Ford GT Race Car 2018, Gr.3 (updated July 10)

This is a refined tune for this attractive car, to help drivers deal with its ill-handling. The normal Fully Customizable parts were added, to be able to tame it. The differential does not work properly, as with many cars in GT. The gears should be OK on many tracks with long straights, including Fuji, Nordschleife and SpeedX. I tried to manage understeer as much as I could, and I will check on tire wear, later.

Jaguar F-Type Gr.3

The Gr.3 F-type is a tame car using the default settings, but this helps some of its issues. It will retain contact with the road when its weight is unloaded and understeer is decreased. However, it does not handle curbs well, so beware; and you still have to respect the loud pedal, so control the way that you accelerate and when you approach braking zones. Do so gradually or trail-brake a bit.

Still one of my favourite GT7 cars.

Subaru BRZ S 2015

This car was a bit tricky to tune. I tried getting the FC Differential to do something better than the normal one. Nope, no difference. I kept it for its engine braking, though, and to help with power oversteer. You still have to have respect for the throttle.

Honda Civic Type-R EK Touring Car

This tune deals mostly with the default equipment supplied on the car. The Fully Customizable Transmission was added, to deal with longer tracks. It is a FWD car, so watch your throttle on curve exits. The default gears are pretty good, as is, but the top speed was adjusted a bit. The suspension was finely tuned, though, to get the differential working the best that it can, to make the handling the best that it can be.

Because the default car is so underpowered, it handles well with its default settings. However, it can still be improved. The normal default Fully Customizable parts were added here, to do that.

Toyota Sprinter Trueno 1600GT APEX S.Shigano

This is a tricky car to tune, therefore this is a preliminary tune. The Brake Balance adjuster was added, to help trail brake better, which really helps with controlling the rear end of the car. So does lowering the rear Roll Bar to the minimum.

In stock form, that is 4.72 lbs per HP! The Sport Soft tires offer lots of grip, but be cautious with the throttle. This tune helps to control the rear end and it does that well, but you should still practice with the car, to get confident. The brake balancer was added here, but it really isn't necessary. A fun car once you acclimate to it.

MAZDA Eunos (NA) 1989

The default settings are a handful, so you should tune the car and practice with it, to find braking points that allow you to go through curves without losing the rear-end. Even tuned the car does not like 90* turns, either.

This tune really calms down the tail-happy car. The rollbar settings had the greatest effect on it, but brake early, so that you don't brake hard. Find your braking points for each corner.

My tunes start off with our Monday Night Racing races as a target, therefore everything is as minimally changed as possible (and still drive well and be tunable), so no extras are involved, unless necessary.

The settings pictures, throughout, show what has been changed and how.
 
Ford Roadster

This tune makes this classic car very reliable, but you still have to be wary on the exits with worn tires. The gears stop tire spin on grid starts and they also help with fuel usage, probably even with automatic transmissions on some tracks. Use the power curves wisely. I added a bit of forward brake bias to help with rear tire wear. Try as I might, I could not get the Differential to work properly, by letting the inside tires slip first.

Toyota MR2 GT-S 1997

The MR2 is a short wheelbased MR car, but the car is quite stable on these tires, if you respect them. Top speed is 283 KPH with a Final Gear of 4.666. The highest Final Gear gives good acceleration and a top speed on most long straights with room to draft, too.

Alpine A220 Race Car 1968 (updated June 2023)

For a short wheelbased MR race car, this is a great handling car. It has a tremendous 5 lbs per Horse Power, so you still have to be careful with the accelerator. The A220 will punish you if you stay on the throttle too long or late brake. Your exits will be slower. Finding the driving line will make your life easier. The gears and differential settings should help drivers from losing the rear end grip, but it is efficient and controllable with practice. Most of the understeer is controlled well, but you still have to be careful as the power ramps up. The car is so light that maximum downforce is used on the rear and a fair bit on the front, too. It handles most hillcrests well, too.

It will help to set the Top Speed for each track. The maximum should be 340, if you still want headroom for drafting.

Dodge Challenger R/T 1970

Get familiar with the handling of this car before you start to trust it. The Final gear should be adjusted per track. I used 4.180, 4041 & 3832 on a variety of tracks. It is a bit of a point-and-shoot car, so be careful of the throttle.

Porsche 911 GT3 (996)

It would not be wise to take this car out of its comfort zone. It has enough trouble dealing with its stock power and weight. You might be able to get away with Sport Medium tires, but Softs really calms it down. Drive the car long enough, so that you get used to its quirks. The tune was created and tested on Nordschleife, so it should be able to handle most tracks.

Aston Martin DBR9 GT1 2010

This is my new favourite Gr.3 car! It is well behaved, it has almost no understeer, it performs well, and it does what you want it to do. With its power and torque, though, you still have to respect its accelerator pedal or else you will experience power-oversteer. These gears should help with fuel mileage, grid starts, and oversteer. The power curves are pretty nice looking, too.

It unnecessarily does not come equipped with a FC Racing Transmission.

NISSAN Z Performance 2023

Yes, this car has 9 gears, but it also has only 8.60 lbs per Horse Power, so it boogies pretty good. Now, normally I would not upgrade tires, add any downforce or weight to a car, but, in this case, it really helps to balance the car (a 12% F/R difference after adding some weight to the rear) and to stabilize the rear end, and it stays below 550 PP.

Alpine A110 2017

This was the first car that I tuned in GT7. I just revisited the settings and found nothing lacking or needing changing, aside from making the mistake of choosing the Racing Transmission. That is corrected here, but it doesn't seem to make any difference. The 7 default gears are spread out well. Top speed covers the long Nordschleife straight.

This is a pretty amazing MR sedan under 550 PP.

Turns up to 700 and can take down Sarthe. The best lap should have been about 4:20, but I got tricked into putting on IM’s on L6. Fun little challenge and I imagine this tune does very well at lower power!
