That 2013 fox article is the only one that comes up and was for the SS sedan and 1 guy didn't like it out of ignorance of the SS brand, but understandable why he would react if he didn't know about it.

It might be part of Chevy's "global naming strategies" to let that car die out and maybe Turn 10 took this to mean "all" SS cars and not just this 1 sedan. Forza Horizon 2 has the badging and Forza 5 which came out in Nov. 2013 had it. Why Forza 6 doesn't have it is beyond comprehension and you can't ask why on the official forums because the mods will just point to the "global strategies" excuse given when this was first noticed and close your topic.

Official excuse: http://forums.forzamotorsport.net/t...vy-Super-Sport-cars-censored.aspx#post_348245

In any case, to debunk the "political" motive:
Chevy still offers SS on it's cars
Chevy Israel has the SS badging: http://www.chevrolet.co.il/Camaro/

Chevy Israel own advertisement:
https://www.facebook.com/Chevrolet.Israel/photos/pb.121053627960521.-2207520000.1462325368./1263180040414535/?type=3&theater

So I doubt it's politically motivated. Outside this, have literally no idea why the badging is missing, so it's understandable for users to think of the other "SS" when this topic comes up, because nothing else comes to mind.

I know it's an old Chevy heritage thing, but I never thought SS sounded that cool a model name anyway. Where Ford had GT and Dodge had R/T, it just sounded a bit weak.

The Chevrolet brand has much more interesting name plates, such as Iroc, Z28 - one of the better sounding option codes IMO - and Copo.

Yesterday I said that I won't get the pack but maybe the Ferrari and one of the others. Now I've realized that buying two cars costs nearly as much as the entire car pack. Why are individual car purchases so expensive? I get that they need to make the pack the best deal, but they could still do that by cutting the price of individual cars in half.

I must admit I was a little skeptical about the Hot Wheels hotrod being in the game.

But actually, it's good fun.. I do think it needs more competition though.

What a sound the Camaro makes with race filter, intake and exhaust. The thing barks at about 2k revs.

Tried all the cars last night (before my TV mysteriously died and so did I a little inside :() and I loved each and every one. Even that Boneshaker was surprisingly fun, even though it can't take a corner very well. That and the Hotwheels Mustang just sound so wonderful. And the Ferrari F1's high revving engine sends shivers down my spine, amazing thing that is. Very happy with this pack.

Wait, I forgot to drive the Camaro. Oopsie.

Sad to hear. At least decent ones aren't THAT expensive anymore
True, it seems TV prices are pretty reasonable these days, even for the super large screen TVs. I can use this as an excuse to get a bigger TV and maybe a proper sound system. Now that would greatly improve my Forza experience.

Well, you've actually answered your own question.

Imagine for a second I am selling these cars

If you could buy cars for say $1... then you would buy the cars you like. So let's imagine on average I then sell each person 3 cars for $3... but it takes me as much effort and very similar costs to sell someone 3 cars as 7. So now I sell them cars for $2 each as singles.

Because then I say "However I will sell you 7 cars for $5"

Now nearly ever customer spends $5, not $3... if I have say 20,000 customers then that is a lot of lap dances...

That is why they do it, it is basic retail sales 101

Hot Wheels Bone shaker... Oh that's a well disappointing noise

It is supposed to be an open pipe, carb, V8... where are the flames out of the exhaust on over run? Where are the blue flames out of the carbs... where is the generally popping, banging and flames these things make? Why is it so quiet?

It sounds like a severely strangled muscle car for pities sake

As I said, they could still make the pack the better deal by cutting prices on cars. That way I could justify buying two cars, but instead I'm not buying any as I don't see point in getting five additional cars I don't need for the price of two. I'd understand it better if the pack became the favorable option after 3 decently priced individual cars.

My apologies I really can't make the explanation any simpler.. they simply do not care if you buy two cars or not, they make more money by selling packs to the vast majority ... if they didn't they would do something different

You do not matter, I do not matter..... individuals simply do not matter, this is the nature of modern capitalist life.

Oh, come one! It can't be as ugly as the older X6; right? ... right?

That is the very definition of setting the bar low!

I dunno, in some ways I find the new one even uglier. The detailing is more brash and heavy-handed. In profile, they both look like giant rolling turds. The comparable Mercedes (GLE) is even worse, and it almost makes me miss the comparatively graceful Acura ZDX.

I personally don't think the X6 is hideous. It's not beautiful but it isn't unbearably ugly.

I find the new Camaro uglier. Seriously.

Well, I did it; I pinned the 2015 Mustang GT against the 2016 Camaro SS. Just like in real life, the Camaro is quicker everywhere. Seriously, I raced against the AI on expert difficulty and I couldn't catch up despite the AI's hesistance in the corners. Though, I did manage to beat the Camaro on Laguna Seca, but just barely.

That's the frustrating thing about the new Camaro; they've got a fantastic, cutting edge chassis, but they stuck with the retro themed styling. The new Mustang is proof that you can change the form and keep the key details, but not be overtly retro.

If you put a 6.2 corvette engine into a car that weighs only 1.6 ton, then yeah, the 5.0 Mustang doesnt have much of a chance.

The whole SS censorship deal originates from Microsoft, no matter how much they try to pin it on GM. The new Camaro appears uncensored in Asphalt 8.

So, the Bone Shaker is really, really good in A class. I was running times in it that would've been inside the top 250-300 with basically zero effort earlier this afternoon.

Why oh why can it not post times to the leaderboards..?

I think it's related to GM, here is an article from 2011.
http://www.lsxtv.com/news/german-camaros-get-v8-but-no-ss-badging/

Now look at GM's Euro site, it's clear GM dropped the badge there, even in the UK.
http://www.chevroleteurope.com/
http://www.chevrolet.co.uk/

Each country has the same site, click on the Camaro and no badges.
It seems GM isn't gonna touch that badge anytime soon, in Europe anyway.

Real question is, why should this trickle into videogames?
Licensing of the badge? Different regional variant of a car? Give EU copies of the game the no-badge version, everyone else badged versions? (up to GM?)

They do it to cut down on supporting too many versions. No SS for everyone makes it easy. Here's the thing... the SS badge was used by other companies before WW2... I worked at various schools for a long time.... no one cares. No one knows what or when WW2 was about. They dont teach it.

Its only important in the minds of the middle aged suits at Microsoft and the govt. bodies who thinks its important.

I'm pretty sure they are still Chevy SS (Chevelle, Camaro, Camino and the... err...Chevy SS itself etc.) cars in GT6 but as if Sony give a crap about WW2.

Then people wonder why history continues to mimic itself and the species does little in the way of evolving.... it's depressing to behold

Anyone else disappointed by the amount of plastic on the Focus RS? I mean, it's supposed to be Ford's performance flagship model (excluding the GT) and yet the ST has far less plastic....Just look at the front bumper and where the fog lights sit, not to mention around the side mirrors. Tacky and cheap looking....

To be fair, I don't think it would make much difference even if they did teach it. Unfortunately, humans are simply aggressive and don't learn from previous mistakes. Just look at the leaders of the most powerful nations. Have they learned anything from past experience? Have they **** ......

To be honest, the Hot Wheels Bone Shaker '11 is a pretty good track day car, when you upgrade its performance to the max, plus add the rear wing and Forza splitter, reduce ride height to a minimum and increase the downforce to maximum, it may have a bit of understeer and would also be a little tail-happy, but it really feels like a kind of car that could give a low-profile open wheeler (e.g. either the Formula Ford or the Formula E cars) a run for their money despite the fact it could not go any faster than 170MPH (273KM/H) when driven well. I was able to reach a 4:15 lap time in the Le Mans circuit, which would mean it would actually be pretty good for a car of its kind.

The result is the Chevy small block (a possible 5.7L LS engine) being upgraded to 7.4L and producing 606HP and weighs around 2200-2300lbs (around under 1000kg), being able to reach a speed of 168MPH (270KM/H) in the process.

Anyone else disappointed by the amount of plastic on the Focus RS?

Three years ago I had a brand new top of the range Ford Galaxy (This was a UK Galaxy) and it cost a great deal of money. I only had it because it had the very largest load space on the market for the class of vehicle. The Seat and VW although on the same basic chassis and looking similar, do in fact have a significantly smaller apertures at the rear... so it had to be the Ford. The local dealers didn't have one so we ordered it off the brochure, figuring it would be fine.

When it was delivered to me the dash board was incorrectly fitted (??) How does that even get out of the factory? Let alone the dealership? The leather interior seemed to be the product of many a dead cat, the interior was just a sea of plastic. After two weeks it wouldn't start... it had flattened the battery. They'd take it away then kept giving it back..... I kept asking what they had done and they just kept mumbling.

Ford dealer "You can pick your car up"

Me "Oh good you have fixed ir, what was wrong?"

FD..... "Nothing the computer says that it is fine"

Me "But you had to pick it up on a truck because it wouldn't start"

FD... "It wouldn't start because the battery was flat... so we have charged it"

Me "It is 6 weeks old and cost nearly £35k... it is supposed to charge its own damned battery!"

FD....Verbal shrug "It's ready to pick up....."

I rung Ford themselves, they didn't want to know... seriously, they could have cared less

It was when the RAC refused to come out to it any more that the dealers got it back... and I refused to take it back until they found the issue. No joke it took a solicitor and all sorts of legal threats to get them going. It was a fault with the electronic power steering unit. That all took in total, 6 months

That was the first new Ford I had bought since the mid-80's and even though it cost us a small fortune to get rid of it so soon, we did... we'll never buy Ford again. A poor product imo and in our experience, truly appalling service/after care
