I voted '95 993 RS, just looks so fine. It was between that and the 996 GT2, but thats a bit common you see.

But really - Any 911 from when they started incorporating ASM and TCS and the like is queer.. If it doesn't drive like a hammer thrown with the shaft first and tries to kill you on each drive it's not a real 911

It's always been about the turbos for me. They've always had that air of sledgehammer about them. And so, with my love of modern cars, that leaves me with 993 or 996. I voted 996.

I almost voted for the '85 Slantnose, but there are so many all-show-no-go ripoffs of it that I just couldn't. I know, that's not their fault, but still.

I also almost voted for the '78 911 SC, but I wanted that supernatural aspiration, so I voted 930 instead.

Asking which 911 variant you like is like asking a guy if he likes blondes brunettes or redheads.
The correct answer is "yes".
I chose the "ducktail". For some reason they are so cool to me. (I also used to want to do, as a daily driver, a Karmann Ghia with a 2.7 Porsche motor).
I also like the mid '80's "lightweight" club racer. It's a factory street car, but it has manual windows, a LOT of the sound deadening removed, no radio, and the Recaro racing seats. As close to a race car (with carpeting) as you could get at that time.

I'm a big-block fancier, but the sound of a Porsche flat-6 getting in to the high Rpm's...👍

I've a soft spot for the 911 series - last one I drove was a '93 Carrera 4.

I do like the current one - but I've a base, non-optioned 911 Carrera coupe as my big lottery win car. As long as it has air and cruise, that's all I need.

Bumping this old thread of mine because there's a lot of new members around that probably haven't had a chance to express their pure unbridled 911 love.

That and I saw a beautiful Guards Red 911 GT3 last night on the way home.

Voted for THE PORSCHE 1978 930 Turbo 3.3....Would have prefered the original 1975 930 Turbo, in tabacco paint.....but hey, the 1978 is good enough for me !!! I want them all though....please give them to me....please..

Where's "all of the above?" My vote goes to the 993 Turbo S, but it's just because there's no 993 Turbo included. Never liked the chromed wheels the S had, nor the air intakes on the rear fenders.

I voted for the 95 RS. I like it a lot and all, but I'm not an insane Porsche enthusiast, so I couldn't tell you all the differences (probably the major ones at least) and nuances that change with each model listed. Very good poll though.
