The first version of Minecraft was much more than just destroying and placing blocks. To remove crafting completely is an insane move IMO. It absolutely kills the game.

I've already bought it. 👍 I just don't think it's a good stage to release it at to be honest. Why not just wait a little longer until they can implement basic crafting? The moaners who want it early can do one
Funny thing is achievements are already in the PC version, I bet they'll make them actual Windows Live achievements for 360, I just hope that never infects the PC version, forcing us to login to WL in order to play at all.

List of things Jeb wants to add to Minecraft PE:
A new file system – to make sure we can support items and mobs in the world
Item system – to be able to pick up items
Crafting – This will probably need some iterations since the interface will be customized for the touch devices
Inventory system
Mobs – animals and enemies!
Optimizing rendering code – we are experimenting with caves but need to make it work better before we are able to release it
Clean up of code and overall optimization
Please note that we don’t have any dates set yet. Also, please make sure you update your phone/pods to the latest version of your operating system for best compatability.
