Yeah, of course. Nothing should be spawned until after Dunc has made the final backup.

EDIT: Can't get a connection to the server. Is it down, or is my new internet crappy?
 
Oh yes, the hosted server.

I told TJ to tell you some things, I have no trust whatsoever in hosted servers. I know no one ever listens to me, Dunc much less, but I don't want to see this server be ruined by a host. I beg you not to go with this option. But if it's what everyone else wants, then I have no control over that. Just don't come crying to me when things to downhill. I'll write a more descriptive post about it when I come back from my bikeride.

Latest is that there is another world "BigRound"
Promotion thing is still ongoing. (Mod trials) Currently Rhys is on his Mod trial, Then Turtle.
Turtle is a Trial Deputy until his Mod Trial.
Fler was promoted to VIP (One of the first players on the server)
I think there is another one somewhere but I dont remember right now.

I'd like to participate in this mod trial thing, if that'd be OK. Just to see what it's like. :)

I decided to give it to him anyways, He's on of the original players, Would be more active but just started a new job.

I ask if the server is down since I cannot log onto the remote access to restart it.

Also look into Playtime too Since newminer is gaining time without being on.

Edit: Dunc I dont know if you looked at this plugin MCDocs I would like to do a test run of it before the move to see if it would be something useful when the server is dedicated.

Hosted servers. Worst thing in the world. ;) That and women...sophisticated things...

Anyways. It seems there's endless problems with things like this. Let me put it in retrospect:

Lag free my 🤬

The way I see it, how do you even know what hardware is in the system unless you see it yourself. They might say there's 4GB's of RAM, and a Dual core processor, but for all you know there's probably a Pentium III and 512MB's of RAM. Their argument for the consistent lag..."The signal is going a long way, it's never going to be perfect, blablabla" and bull:censored: load more. Oh, and how about extra pay. You most likely would be paying extra money for better hardware that just isn't there. Useless waste of money.

Limited access to server features

Let me ask you this. If you're on the other side of the world, tell me how you can edit the files and programs on the server to add plugins and such? I see no reason in playing money for something you can't control. They say that you can edit things and whatnot, but the ability to do things instantly isn't there. Useless waste of money.

And if the server crashes?

Well here's one. If it goes down, you try telling me that it'll be put back up, if you're not the one that can do it. You can't trust a bunch of nerds with stubby fingers and T-Shirts that say "If it isn't alive, it can't thrive", to get some simple thing like this going when you want.

Installing plugins and such

I've actually seen hosts where you've had to get permission to install a plugin...on the server you're playing $20 a month for. If the system is in your loungeroom, you can install it then. Instead of waiting for them to fart about and get it done.

In conclusion, hosts are great...do destroy a server. It's integrity, awesomness...look, i had a really good, awesome as post in my mind, but I forgot it. Now I know it all boils down to Dunc's choice. I assume he's sick of having a loud server (which could be made less loud in all honesty ;)) in his kitchen, let alone Victoria putting up with it. I just have had many friends and such have endless trouble with hosts, it's not something I'd EVER consider for my server. They have some rubbish excuse for everything, something that makes no sense, take their own time with a 5 minute job. It's like when you put your computer in to get the Hard Drive replaced, a 3/4 hour job at most, takes them 2 hours and you pay $150 dollars for nothing!...personal experience rant...anyway.

Also, might I ask, what is wrong with the way things are now? I mean, TJ basically has access to everything. About the only thing he can't do is raid your fridge for ham and beer...I see no problem personally. Sure there's a little lag, but that could be easily eased with another hardware upgrade if necessary, I'd be willing to donate some parts (I have a few dual core processors and RAM coming out my ears...)

Yeah, that's all I got, I forget the awesome post I had...sorry. I suppose the most persuasive thing I can say is this: Trust me, please.
