EDIT 2: DQuan, can you possible set up some shops, so we can use the money we have? And im always low on food because there are no freaking animals around, and there are also other items im looking for but can't find, so it would be nice if some shops were added.

Anyone can make their own shops. There are mobs but it seems you have to go out of town to find them.

Does anyone want to jump on and help with the latest project?

The floating island. We're hollowing it out to make plots for people to build.

Hopefully It's going to be quite epic!

It pisses me off when people don't like a server just because it got a bit griefed. Get off your asses and fix it, not that big of a problem/deal. *gets shield ready for people to yell at me*

Might have been from a day ago, but I'll respond.

Please, I wasn't implying that I didn't like the server. I just mentioned some bugs that occurred to me when I joined the server. And yes, I fixed the griefs, and no it's not that big of a deal. I'm just giving a heads up that someone is griefing and that the admins should look out for in the future. And did you just read that part of my statement? Because it seems that you basically ignored my sentence, looked for the word "grief," associate it with the fact that complaining about grief = hate on the server, and then think that I was bashing the server.

Here's the deal - I like Dunc's server, he has put effort into it and it is filled with an interesting community with a lot of history and amazing builds. I just don't like the fact that I point out some bugs and you think that I'm bad-mouthing the server. Yes, I know you can't read feelings through the internet, so I'll cut you some slack.

Now - Anyone play those Minecraftpvp servers? They have events such as Capture the Flag, Hunger Games, and hardcore PvP. They're fun, I have a video of my favorite event - The Survival Hunger Games. Although now it's almost always filled and has about 100+ people on it...

We could form a GTP team and go there for a round or two, looks fab :)
We'd need to sort out teamspeak or something like they did.

edit-currently in a game waiting for it to start, don't think I'll have time to finish it but I might make a big kit of stuff for whoever kills me.

edit2- seems I was in a bugged server and it wouldn't start (server c), will join a game after dinner.

Don't worry Dunc, yours is the only server I'll do normal stuff in, I've got far too much stuff there to start from scratch elsewhere, but this tournament thing is kinda cool. I'll have to juggle it all with my writing though.

Server is very very laggy today, just got on for about a half hour, 20 mins of that was waiting for spawn to generate (ok, maybe that's an exaduration, but you get the idea).

@ghskilla I'll reply to your post when I'm not deathly tired and feel like I'm hungover. Though, if you actually read my post, you'd see that I just gave you the suggestion of fixing it, then ranted about what annoyed me, in a different paragraph, clearly not pointed at you. It was just in general :). But now that you've gone to the trouble of writing a big post, I best reply to it when I can. Really wasn't a need to blow it up, mate ;)
 
Im thinking of making the huge tree just outside Dragonbay into a hotel. Anyone in favor of that idea? Renting a room will be free, of course.

Sounds good! :D I really want to find a hillside to tunnel into, drop a 3x3 shaft down to bedrock and build a room out of iron...but that would require far too much effort to find and furnace all the iron xD

I have been playng minecraft for a while now, had no problems since yesterday. i was playing with a friend (his server) and i started to get some lag, then after restarting the game, it was fine at first and the lag again. It also crashed a couple of times with the following error.

I then tried it on my secondary PC which worked fine. I am running 32 bit Windows XP.

Ok, the hotel is mostly done. There are 5 rooms so far (Im estimating about 8-9 when im done) and a public balcony and rooftop. The rooms are free, just stop by the huge tree in Dragonbay, I'll set up directions from the spawn. All rooms are equipped with bed, workbench and chests.

First of all, make sure you have the latest version of java.

Those Hunger Games servers look cool. Would anybody mind posting the IP address of one?
 
The Hunger Games server IPs:

  • a.mc-hg.com
  • b.mc-hg.com
  • c.mc-hg.com
  • d.mc-hg.com

They have four servers, and when one is down, another is usually up most of the time.

BTW - I just became a VIP there, I don't know how, but it's fun getting a reserved slot. :p
 
Just finished one. Saw you went for a swim in magma there, Enki.

I got down to the bottom 20, before a zombie owned my face. Killed two guys and had some decent tools and iron sword too. Gonna have another crack at it when the next match is up. In the meantime, gonna jump on DQ.
 
Yeah, I can't get a fix on this server, I thought the clay was coded to replace the lava, wierd. If I had cobble in my handybar I could've saved myself, it came from a block to the side as I dug down.
 
Got on two more games. One I got owned by some 'b' with an itch, that had fly, speed, and invincibility hacks. Really really annoyed me. I'll be honest, I nerd raged...

Then got on another one, and everyone was very stupid and spammy, so it bugged out the server and the match wouldn't start. Did get to have a nice chat on Skype with a British kid though, he was nice. :) We were gonna team up and own everyone, but since the match didn't start, I just went exploring caves. Found sand and clay at bedrock and lava level....hmmm...

I might be on DQ in about a half hour or so, I'll see how I feel. I'm quite tired, got a bugged back, and a headache...

As far as I have read, it's basically competitive hardcore SMP without all the usual Factions crap that usually ruins survival...it follows the film format, a set of players start the 'game' and only one can win, so plenty of backstabbery and stuff I would expect. Or ofcourse, someone with flymod, ESP, wallhacks, xray, sneak hacks, the whole shebang, like tlowr found
