Well I've seen people make letters out of a flat background with them so it's very possible to do. Just a lot of work getting your head around how redstone works.

For any particular reason or are you just trolling the server? You got unbanned after multiple warnings and you want to build huge, ugly towers in the middle of a town that people have spent hours on. Not the best way to go about your return IMO. Why not try exercising your creativity on something more than just a huge boring tower? There's plenty of scope for interesting buildings.
