I've logged a support ticket with them to see if I can change the port to 22222.
 
Hehehhee, she's LAAAAAGY. Seriously laggy. Like how it used to be in August last year. I have to eat for 2.5 mins.

I assume it just takes time for the new computer to settle into having this sort of load on it. It was the same with Dunc's Athlon system, the original server. Took a while for it to get used to it, then sped up.

EDIT: DAMMIT. Double posted again. My apologies... :banghead:

EDIT2: Dunc, happen to have the specs for the new system? Just curious about the specs for my own system.

Mm. It may be my connection to, it's been a bit off today as it is. I'm using WiFi. I'll go and connect to Ethernet soon and see if that helps.

EDIT: Seems it's smoothed out a tad now. Still not great but it's better than before.

EDIT2: Spoke too soon.

EDIT3: Ok this is weird. Each time I log back in I either go to the new world, or to Rapture/Thorncombe/Strawberry mix...

cman and prettie girl were on earlier..., talk through them though the console and they might help.

EDIT: OH WAIT MY BAD :banghead:. I was joining the old server :L...fml

EDIT2: Gonna have to log off for a while. CPU is doing it's turpsy again and I've got a few LP's from X to catch up on. I'll be back in few hours. :)

What's the spawn area like?

World transfers complete. Now doing plugins which shouldn't take too long.

Our old worlds Rapture and Strawberry fields won't be accessible until I get home and reconfigure multiverse.

There is a new 1.1 world (hopefully with jungle somewhere!) called Tori Sands which you can join now.

What I want to begin with in Tori Sands is a spawn area that is a small town (not really any houses), with paths leading in all directions. There will also be path's leading to portals which will then take you to the various worlds.

Feel free to get started on this, I can even set a couple of people to creative to get it going.

Spawn protection is still locked down as far as I know. And spawn changes every time you die...or did you fix this with the plugins?

If so I'll get right on it!
 
Yeah, the lag is a real 🤬. Might I ask again, what were the specs for this machine, Dunc? If there's a system that's slightly higher spec'd, I'd be happy to donate whatever additional charges are incurring.

EDIT: Yep! Spawn changes for everyone. We'll have to hold off untill those plugins are installed to make spawn all purrdy. In the mean time, I'm gathering resources. Let us know when you've picked spawn, Dunc.

Plugins have now been installed. The port should also have changed to 22222.

Later today you should be able to use the old dqcraft.dyndns.org:22222 to join.
 
Hopefully will get on today for a bit! Maybe in an hour, or maybe around 11pm tonight ^_^ I really wanna help build things
 
I'm just doign some mining and stuff, but I'm going to start on spawn soon. If you wouldn't mind putting me on creative to do so? :)

Also, what kind of look are you going for? Just give me a basic run down and I'll try and expand.
 
Not sure. Small open village with wide paths leading in differnet directions. Some of the paths will lead to the portals. (2 or 3)

How's the lag? Control panel shows that the server is using 100% of it's memory and I haven't loaded our worlds yet. :scared:
 
Ok, I'll have to do it in the morning, which by that time someone else would proberbly have done so already.

Lag is OK my end, but we will need an upgrade if we want to load our worlds. I ask again, what are the specs of this system? And if we decide to upgrade, I'd be happy to help pay some of the extra.
 
1GB dedicated RAM, SSD Hard drives, Not entirely sure of the processor but it's a Xeon, 1Gbps connection.
 
Given the memory situation, I might hold off on creating a nether portal in case it breaks the server.

Which server to join now?
