I have an idea. A new map of STARTING OVER. Just like Strawberry, no taking items from the other worlds and start off new. Disable PvP, and let it run Vanilla for a while. Once things calm down, allow the other worlds. (Oh, and allow Lockette, just because of stealers) The reason why is because it felt a lot more peaceful in the beginning days of Strawberry when I first joined. Sponge, Fiat, Ryou, Riffeh, Jai, Vic, Dunc, turtlenajder, Rhys, Moglet, Enki, and others that were there during the time. Bloody hell that was fun. Back when we were scared ****less because creepers were enabled, the fact that we actually had to explore and not fly to get around. The fact that everyone had a great time and we had great conversations. I miss that. It was what made me want to stay in DQ, now it's just griefers and the whole Group Adam vs. Brit Group vs. DQCraft Veterans. (Before Tori) I miss the early Strawberry days. I want to return to that.

May I just point out I was there before Tori and Strawberry.

Also what I think stops the fun is the rules! There used to be no pvp limitations, no Tnt safe zones no nothing(Apart from lockette) and even though there were occasional griefs and fires and fights, everyone still got along ok-ish. But now there are so many mods to prevent things that no one has freedom to do good things with them. E.g. Tlowr's dwarf city thingy. I think we should either get rid of a lot of safety plugins, or at least in some worlds or if not that then we should get a massive mod like buildcraft or thaumcraft that will give us that new things spirit!
 
I'm not sure Dunc, but if we all want the nostalgia back from when rapture and strawberry fields were created, then shouldn't we allow the things that were allowed then, e.g. flying, fire and Tnt. Even if we do get a few more griefs, we would probably get a lot closer to the nostalgia than if we started a world nothing like the ones we originally loved :D

And say bye bye to the old worlds. I've built a lot there too, like the Thorncombe subway system, but they are almost damaged beyond repair with horrible eyesores (Fiat's thorncombe pyramid monstrosity) and if we could have a new beggining, I guarantee I'll be there exploring and building in this new world together. Oh, and turn creepers back on, please! Then it'll be fun building creeper proofed strongholds in the middle of nowhere.

Since a couple of people want to keep the worlds, why don't we have 2 worlds, Pandora and another one that we vote with? And keep the world files, just in case we want to switch worlds around. I say, I'm going to be online a LOT more because of this, this is exciting!

And agreed with E28, Thorncombe and Rapture are damaged and broken beyond repair (or rollbacks, for that matter) and the biomes became messed up and now it looks ugly. Strawberry is the most nostalgic for me, but the towers and big structures look horrible. ToriSands is quite new, and besides the spawn town, it looks fresh, lovely, and the other towns are quite nice.
 
The new world is really nice. There are plains, jungle, snow and mountain biomes all 100 blocks from spawn. The mountain biome looks amazing as it is on the coast so there are loads of little coves. Hopefully a lot of building will be happening there.

Ok.

To Everyone:

The server will have a fresh start. HOWEVER, the worlds will still be at the server, and it will take less than 2 minutes for Dunc to load an old world up if we want to wander around. NOTHING WILL BE LOST.

Please, no more bitching about losing stuff. Nothing's going anywhere, and Dunc will make the worlds available for download so we can search around in singleplayer as well.

No one can ever be happy apparently :grumpy:... Also, yes I'm in an iffy mood, and I apologize if this ticked you off a bit.

EDIT: By the way Dunc, I do hope everyones inventory would be wiped. A few guys I know did this on their similar in size server, and when they created the new world, a few people had loaded their inventories up with valuables. How strange it was then to find them, 3 hours after starting the server, decked out in complete diamond everything, eating Golden apples as an afternoon tea snack...

EDIT2: Dunc, server issues. Been waiting to connect for about 60 seconds so far, and I just get a "Took to long to log in" error.

EDIT3: Turns out it may just be me or minecraft.net. I can't log into any servers...

Took me a while to log in but I'm on now although I'm about to head back to work.

The way I am going to switch over should wipe everyone's inventory. I'm also going to wipe the homes list and econ. (Both will be backed up though).

If you do start afresh I'd be keen to play.

I'm new to Minecraft and have only been playing survival single player for a couple of weeks but it's a great way to lose a couple of hours once the family has gone to bed!

I've never tried multiplayer but would love to give it a go. I might need some help mind!

Dunc, I know I've already said this on the server. But to keep the new world friendly, I would limit us to just one active Moderator, and the rest Players. Think about it, if you're a mod, and you want something, are you really going to find it when you can just spawn it? To me, that isn't really fair. I'm sure one active Mod is enough, with you to handle what happens to the offender after the Mod has reported it. Another reason I suggest we have everyone else Players, is that "Deputy" users etc can teleport. Now, this recently caused a massive row after Rhys teleported somewhere Nader was intending to keep secret. I, personally, would like to be able to make secret locations without fear a Deputy is going to spawn right behind me.

Flying, nice to see it will be disabled. Everyone is to an equal advantage.

Spawning should be disabled altogether. Caught Rhys in Chain Armour, something that isn't possible to make without a certain spawnable aspect.

I went to him, Lewis asked to be tp'd there before Nader made an objection so I did, and Nader went and raged about 'people treating him like sh.it' and 'no-one has respect' for him, when we only we were near his area, which was not intended to be secret since it was plainly on the ground for anyone to see in Rapture.

2. You know how long I've been on the server Jai? A long time. I've amassed all sorts of items, some found in the dungeons, some from ages ago in rapture, most of which are stored in the old town me, Ryou, spongem and Nader used to hang around in. Also Adam has this armour, and you said 'Screenshot saved ;)' straight after so you were obviously making an effort to drop me in it.

Even I got chain armor, I think it was when bomberman didn't give me my stuff so I kept the chain :P

Mods and deputies can teleport for a reason and if we only have one then what do we do when they are not online? If a griefer comes along and no mods are online, what can we do? Well we cant kill them because of regios and fire is easy to avoid, so we just have to watch them destroy our homes.
In my opinion less mods = more trouble.

Also everyone is to an equal advantage even with flying as it doesn't take rank to be allowed it.

And ability to blow is pretty much gone already, I can't even mine without TNT glitching.

Edit: Did a lower case "I" and everyone rages so much about grammar.
 
Teleporting should only be used in necessary circumstances or if the play says 'Deputy X, could you TP to me?' when they have a problem. If a Deputy/Mod TPs to someone without permission, the user can report them and the deputy can recieve a short jail sentence, and repeat offences result in the user being stripped of their rank.

That's my take on it, anyway.
