Dunc, please remove 2 out of the 3 Mods, remove the ability to have people able to TP to you, and add a chat censor.

Then, we're ready. :)

Nothing against the Mods, but they can spawn (which they do frequently) and can TP to you, invasion of privacy for secret projects.

As long as nobody starts messing with my caves and resources I am good! But if all my iron and coal deposits vanish, there will be trouble...same as if anyone comes in uninvited once the top building goes up

Try allocating memory, Its quite easy with mycraft, just go in the launch options and change 1024 to 2048(2GB), assuming you have 4GB+

I just tried that, I've got 8GB so plenty spare and it didn't change a thing :(

So you can still put just his name on it, even if he isn't on he can still have it in his name

No, the sign won't attach. The users name must be placed first, then followed by secondry names.

Well as a personal thing, I don't spawn items much, and rarely TP to people unless for reason. Now Rhys and Moglet may have their issues, but that's for them to decide.

And might I ask you, how do you know what we spawn when we spawn it? just because you saw rhys in a bit of chainmail armor (which I actually sold to him back in the day of August 2011, I remember well), dosn't mean we just live on the /give command.

And no, we're not. Turtle, being a deputy, just wanted to repair his stuff a few times. Dunc told him not to do it too often though. This is supposed to be a more survival orientated map/server reset, so we're trying to keep it that way.

Not me, I spawn items for myself a fair bit if I want to build something desperately. :lol: I'm trying not to on this new world though, in the spirit of things. It feels better to build something knowing you've collected the resources yourself. I remember my old hotel being 99% unspawned items and when it was mostly finished (it still isn't) it felt great.

You place it then you do edit it with the command, I've done plenty back in the day

Where's this flat land? Hope it's not too big of a chunk... especially if it's near spawn town.

One more thing: Lag. Tons of it. And unbelieveable amounts too. The lag is akin to what it was when the server first started last year. Remember the time of Dunc's bad connection? We had to wait 4 minutes for chunk updates? Well for me, it's like that again. My net is fine, it's obviously been something with the host/overloading the plugins with the new world.

I second this, my net is fine but when im on the server it literally takes 10-15 seconds to do ANYTHING. To open a chest, a crafting table, to hit a mob, pick up an item. I'd love to play on the new server but my god, its impossible right now.

Also, I hate playing in servers where people can just cheat/ abuse power for their own personal gain. Whats the point of say, killing 300 sheep and building a wool house if someone can just spawn x amount as they please. I hope this doesnt happen at all, but I think it might..
 
^Since we're both pinging off the same server (I ping off the major brisbane one, as I assume you do) that means we'd get exactly the same lag at exactly the same time. At least that's someone that knows what it's like!

I dont understand what you mean by your last sentence? You do lag or you don't?

It seems it happens while loading chunks, I loaded all the chunks surrounding the spawn area and it goes from 60second lag down to a second. The moment I step out of those loaded chunks, to say, the launchpad, its back to 40 seconds of lag. That's ridiculous. Why does it only happen with this server?
 
Dunc I need my 20 xp back that I just lost because of the immense lag.

On the topic of tool repair, can we do away with that and have that blacksmith npc guy back, and we can pay him to fix stuff, or pay him with a special item, maybe gold ingot since it is both rare and of limited use.

I lag like a 🤬 mate. Yeah. The loading chunks thing is the same with me. However, I played for 15 mins just now, 5 of those was waiting to recieve my piece of iron. I've worked out how i can still mine the blocks and I will receive it after a few mins of walking around (at least the part where the block returned has been fixed), but the lag is so immense now it's at the point where I'll say the game is unplayable. Unfortunately I won't be joining unless for special need until the lag is resolved. Simply because I physically can't play.

Okay, so this must come down to the Brisbane side of things or something. Turbolag in melbourne doesn't feel any of this at all..

What about you, Enki? Where do thou hail from, and which ISP server do you ping off? Maybe it's something to do with signal communication around the world...

EDIT: Gonna try and get on now, and see if it's any better. I'm using an Ethernet connection this time, but I doubt it'd make any diferance.

EDIT2: Lag is even longer now. It's at a constant average of 5 minutes nao. Yay......

I'm afraid to rejoin the server because there's usually a good chance of being met with a 'you died' screen.
 
^ So Adelaide and Brisbane. I'll look around and see if their servers have had any issues. I'm with Optus, what about you Legendary?
 
<removed> Luckily I was able to stumble through a cave network and find the deathchest for when I JoinDied just now.

I'm 93% sure the connection problem is not our fault.
 
My internet is with optus too..

I know it's not my end, every other server is fine. It could be the way optus gets to his server, although it was fine before all this updating and stuff?
 
Running perfectly here! But then I am a few hours away and not on the other side of the world :indiff:
