Is there any decision yet on the rules and race distance for a Road America I'd really like to start work on race strategy and stuff, but every day there is a discussion about something can we just have all the rules and race distance for road America put down so we can start doing proper practice sessions?
At the moment we have been told that we are waiting until the patch to see if it actually fixes the problem. The issue with that is that the patch is likely to come out only a few days before the actual race, and that's not really enough time to work out if the problems are completely gone or not.

The fact that there are so many obvious and game braking bugs makes me inclined to think that this patch isn't going to completely fix the problems, but even if does fix the problem we shouldn't be leaving it until the last minute to decide on major rules in this series.

Laps and the Rules are on the 1st Page. You can check the Laps out. What Rules you want to add?

Let's say the patch arrives without fixing any pit stop issues at all.

You do realise @STALLIONO that you will get a proper headache after the first race when you check this thread and half of it is filled with people being angry their pit stops made them go out on rain tires and such, and the other half is people accusing other drivers for not doing the mandatory pitstop.

And there is no way to get the full facts regarding what all 15 drivers in all 3 tiers did or did not do.

I'm not complaining about the rules, just trying to save you all the work that you will get as the host of this series.

I drove a race with my mate the other day. He's not that good yet but he was leading the pack of 16 cars and was overjoyed with this.
Until the first pit stop when his crew put on 1 soft and 3 rain tires... Let's say he wasn't over the moon by that, to say the least. And that was just a short fun race we did.

This is a series with points behing handed out. People will get really angry if the pit stop destroys their race.

@STALLIONO can I make some minor suggestions to the points to help clean it up a bit? At the moment we have this:

1st Place 32 Pts
2nd Place 25 Pts
3rd Place- 23 Pts
4th Place- 19 Pts
5th Place- 17 Pts
6th Place- 15 Pts
7th Place- 12 Pts
8th Place- 10 Pts
9th Place- 8 Pts
10th Place- 7 Pts
11th Place- 6Pts
12th Place- 5Pts
13th Place- 4 Pts
14th Place- 3 Pts
15th Place- 2 Pts

Im thinking we go with this:

1st Place 32 Pts
2nd Place 25 Pts
3rd Place- 22 Pts
4th Place- 19 Pts
5th Place- 17 Pts
6th Place- 15 Pts
7th Place- 13 Pts
8th Place- 11 Pts
9th Place- 9 Pts
10th Place- 7 Pts
11th Place- 5 Pts
12th Place- 4 Pts
13th Place- 3 Pts
14th Place- 2 Pts
15th Place- 1 Pts

Makes more sense to me that way (there was a random 3 point difference originally between 6th and 7th before, and a 4 point difference between 3rd and 4th)

the patch fixes it. Stop complaining, we did choose to not begin before the patch is out.

When you enter the pits the pit crew will not operate until you finish choosing what you want.

If you saved a strategy you woll only have to apply it.

But the race should be long enough that none of the cars can do it without fuel stop.

That's not what people are complaining about, we are saying that people are given penalties as they leave the pits (in rare cases it can give you a penalty worth several hours at which point you may as well quit) and also putting on the wrong tyres (such as putting on rain tyres despite requesting soft tyres)

Being able to change your settings before they start working on your car is a nice touch and will help with any last minute fixes, but it's got nothing to do with the game breaking bugs people are getting.

i think at this point everybody witnessed the bugs. I got a 600s pnalty on imola. This is why we said " wait for patch" and delay race 1. Patch will come when ready and we will have some tests with multiple pit stops.

But to prepare strategy and test fuel quantities we could already set the laps.

How long do we wait though? It could take over a month or two for all the pit related bugs to be fixed, and I really don't fancy waiting that long when we could just adjust the rules temporarily to eliminate the need for pit stops.

You need to relax buddy. Pitting is part of Racing. Give it a rest. Flat out, everyone is respecting the rules but you. The Patch is coming in less then 2 weeks. No more talks about Pitting till then.

where did you guys do the qualifying sessions for this series? Im guessing Road America from the times but probably wrong!

My internet is through a satellite so can be temperamental, however I have been trying some online races and its been working really well. So I may be interested in becoming a reserve after some more checking on my internet connection?

Thanks guys

Jesus christ am I talking in ancient Latin or something?!

Why is so hard to answer a simple bloody question: if the patch does not fix the pit stop related problems, will we still wait for another patch?

I want to know now because the series is scheduled to start in a week and half, and I don't want us to have to delay the series once again because we didn't prepare ourselves. It's a simple question that requires a yes or no answer.

Actually qualifying was done at silverstone in the gt4 Aston Martin, seems that the times are very similar between the two tracks and cars.

Ok didn't realise the laps had been changed, however can you make clear that disconnect rule? It's says if your disconnected within 2 laps the race needs to restart? So someone who gets a bad start just pulls the lead? I think as soon as race starts if you disconnect that's just bad luck, otherwise how you going to sort the grid out for a re start?

Is it too late to join. if so, how do I

The Series is full right now. You can be a Reserve.

If the Patch doesn't fix things. Who knows what going to happen. I think it's best to be Patient with the Patch. See what it fixes. Patience right now, the Pitting be sorted out. Please lets leave it at that till then. I can not control the bugs in this game.

The laps on page 1 still need adjusting 45 laps at Laguna Seca could easy be done with a full tank of fuel.

Edit: if we want to force people to PIT

@STALLIONO somehow you failed to provide a yes or no answer, truly impressive stuff.

I don't think it's best to wait for the patch, because judging from the history of this thread, it takes pages and pages of arguing to come to up with a solution.

You are showing a worrying lack of foresight and unwarranted good faith in sms. To keep things running smoothly we need to come up with solutions to problems before they happen.

I know you are desperate to see forced pitting but it's just not viable at the moment, and in the games current state it's completely irresponsible. We wouldn't even have to permanently get rid of pit stops, as soon as they are 100% fixed we could bring the number of laps back up again.

Like your idea. Some may use the Restart to their advantage. That's updated..

Okay, we can work on Laps for certain Tracks that need it.

To be honest, i can not give an answer on this matter. For one the Patch isn't out yet. This is the last time till the Patch comes out. WAIT FOR THE PATCH!!

Like @Zeydius said, wait for the Patch. Please @MrMattAdz no more talks about Pitting right now. Your Patience on the Patch is key. In the mean time, Practice Road America. Please end this for right now please!

So much easier to just remove forced pit stops. Seams like it's more a ego issue than a logical one. If y'all decided to force a tire I will pull out of series.

Of course, because it's always best to come up with a solution to a problem rather than preventing the problem in the first place

The penalties on pit exit appear to be in the patch notes :)

Hopefully SMS will get their act together. Anyhow, who's up for some short races later at non-series tracks? 10min qualifying, 6 laps?

To be fair I don't see a problem with just leaving it at 40 laps then see what patch brings, if it is fine we keep everything as it is? If it's still not mostly good then just change it then, changing from 40 laps to 29 say isn't going to change much so I don't really get the fuss? Just wait see what happens when the patch is released, if it's just as bad we can change to 29 lap no pit stops, if it's much better we leave it as it is.

Yes that's exactly what I think should happen.

That's what I was trying to ask Stalliono, I wanted to know what would happen if the patch didn't fix the problems (will we lower the number of laps so we don't need to pit, or will we keep delaying the series until they are fixed). Unfortunately he seems incapable of thinking ahead and discussing this, either that or he's so desperate for pit stops that he doesn't want to consider a world without them ;)

Yes @MrMattAdz stop asking questions that require an answer, asking questions is just making stalli take time away from misunderstanding other people's questions snd he has little enough time for misreading questions as it is let alone the time that it doesn't take not to answer the wrong questions addressed to someone who never even asked that question in the first place.

I can Race around 10pm est if you want. I'm busy for the rest of the day.

That statement is reminiscent of a question/poll that never came to light after countless times of requesting one for a forced fixed camera series ( interior view ), And I am the one that would probaly of been at the bottom of AM Tier .if i had qualified, no smilely lol
