Only played the campaign so far but I must say it has impressed me, as COD campaigns go its easily up there with Modern Warfare!! The action is constant but it feels well put together, unlike MW2 which just seemed like a mess of levels/missions showing off different features and effects. From what I have experienced so far its a BIG improvement of MW2 and Black Ops (both of which I was dissapointed with although Black Ops had a fairly good campaign) and only time will tell if it ends up being as Good as Modern Warfare and World at War!!

Sharky.
Level 1 or wave 1?

On that subject, I kinda wish they had a way to select any wave (within reason, obviously) to play without reaching it chronologically. It wouldn't count toward your best record, but it would be a fun way for a quick challenge without as much of the stress of messing up.

So do you think this game is worth buying, guys? Opinions? Thanks in advance.

It is. Singleplayer is pretty good, haven't tried multiplayer. Then again, I really like the setting of the Modern Warfare series. Epic ending.

Anyone tried the juggernaut suit? Me and my team had some epic fun in HQ with all running with juggernaut :D
They got all scared and ran away

Anyone know when the Weekly Challenges reset? It's fairly easy, (10 Airdrop Traps) but I don't wanna let 5000 XP get away. Also, the MP5, SCAR, and UMP are the best guns I have so far, although none of them are any good silenced to me except the SCAR. I also love Kill Confirmed, its very easy to get killstreaks. I got an Attack Helicopter and another 6 streak with 5 hit markers on the 7th guy (bad moment ). I'm really loving the game. Also, for some reason, I'm able to quickscope sometimes. I did it twice in a row and had no idea how I did it, and I haven't been able to since.

Given the game released on a Tuesday, I'd say the weekly challenges will reset each Tuesday. :p

I got a triple kill with an airdrop trap in Kill Confirmed yesterday :D

I think I'm just going to leave Support streaks on my classes except for my SCAR class and maybe my UMP class for now, since its a confidence boost to get the higher level Support stuff. I really like Underground, Hardhat, Arkaaden (sp?), and Dome as well.

Played it at a friend's house today, with Skyrim coming out on Friday and just having bought Battlefield 3, I think I'll skip MW3. Or maybe ask my girlfriend to get me it for christmas :p

Yeah battlefield 3 is awesome

If that's your opinion, you should consider discussing how awesome it is in our BF3 thread. Right down the page from here ;).

Tried some online yesterday, had some trouble with the servers first (kicked off 4 times) after that it was going well.

Had my ass kicked a few times but hopefully that can be worked on :)

Online is okay. I really like how they made it feel like Modern Warfare, though there's still quite a few overpowered weapons. Two I admittedly use! :embarrassed:

Campaign is awesome! So far I'm to the part where we have to attack Makarov in Paris, right after the C130 mission where it brings the Eiffle Tower down. Man that one part was epic though!

Soap: "Theres four of us, and dozens of them, we won't possibly stand a chance!"
Price: "Oh yeah, I brought some friends along!" (Thirty russian loyalists show up on the rooftops.)

That part put a huge grin on my face.
(Campaign Spoiler)
That one part where your video taping your child play with some birds was awful. I was expecting something bad, but I didn't expect chemical gasses!
By the way what was that stuff?

Liked the story but the Eiffel Tower part was the worst I've ever seen in a video game.

"THE EIFFEL TOWER IS FALLING." "Who cares, back up is here."

Finished up the campaign in MW3 last night in 5 hours. While it was only 5 hours short like the BF3 short campaign, the MW3 campaign is a LOT better. The last level is really dang good. However I still prefer the BF3 multiplayer so I will be getting BF3 for christmas and just using MW3 as a rental.

Yes the "Theres 4 of us, and dozens of them" part was epic. I actually got gooesebumps and smiled at that part. Just epic. And you haevnt seen anything yet. Just wait until you see the last level. Now THAT is friggin epic.

With that said there is one level I hated and hated bad.
The mission where you drop down by some trucks and you have to follow Soap. Its very dark out and if you get caught at all, Soap dies. Well the second the mission started it drops you down by a truck with guards to the right. I kept getting busted instantly and Soap died instantly. Over and over and over. I was getting very frustrated and almost gave up. But finally just got lucky and got through it. I think its something wrong with the mission and the way you land by the trucks. Its messed up for sure.

thanks for hiding the spoilers guys I am gonna start the story mode tomorrow good looking out.

Not sure if that was sarcasm because I think we did a pretty good job with the spoilers.
EDIT: Oh I do see a few people up there that should have had warnings on their replies.

Might sound weird but there's something even more frightening in the level before. It's all about France in MW3, uh? :p

When asked about his unit and their strength Sabre says "We've been hit in Satory, most of my men died within minutes."

Satory is actually a 10 minute walk away from my old flat I moved out of 3 months ago. That made it feel "real and not too far away". I love how they really checked where the GIGN has their barracks - most movies and games just assigned random locations whilst Satory is the main base for them and they're also training their recruits there.

Never wonder if you're running into 20+ soldiers packed with equipment and rifles when you're in Versailles...they're nice guys, really nice.

Just had my first pretty awesome game so far. I went 23-3 on Hardhat, and would have been able to get a second Attach Helicopter in one life (your killstreaks start over once you reach the highest one :D) if my SCAR wouldn't have dried up. Really loving the game :).

Does anyone know what resolution MW3 is running on the 360? I played it for awhile last night and it took me 20 minutes for my eyes to get use to it, so it wasn't really fuzzy looking. There's no way it's in any type of HD.

It doesn't look so bad on the PS3. Sure, certain parts of the online maps are pretty un-textured, but if you give it time to load completely it's not so bad.

BTW, I just took the rental back, I really like it, and I'll probably join the dark side and buy it.

I liked it too. I was on the fence with it, but when I seen that they put the use of the shield back in I decided to get it. I'll get use to the low resolution I guess, but it was just really surprising how bad it looks. If it says 1080p on the box, the game should be 1080p, and there is no way this game is in 720p let alone 1080p. It's not really the textures that bother me, it's how fuzzy everything looks. I actually thought something was wrong, and when back into my dashboard to check and make sure my kid didn't switch my resolution back or something. I didn't buy COD though for the stunning good looks, I got it to play with friends and bash people with my shield, and last night I accomplished both.

I just found the resolution. 1024x600. There's the problem. Why make such a low res game, when almost everyone has an HD TV now? Hopefully the pc version will look better.

Give MW3 some time to render online. In the beginning of the New York map, I noticed that in the beginning that the orange excavator looked like crap, WAY too fuzzy and textureless, but a little later I saw it from the same distance again and it was 100% fine. Hopefully they'll learn from the mistakes they made this year and blow the competition away next year.

Also, I thought the all maps were crap, way too boring. But then I found Arkaden and Village. They're both spectacular. If the DLC makes or exceeds these two I'll have no problem buying all of it.

Er, you sure on that? It's in Full HD on my TV and looks absolutely fine.

I guess none of the modern warfares have been in HD.

Anything can be in full HD on your tv if it's upscaled to 1080p. That doesn't make it made in HD, it's just pretending to be in HD, and there is a big difference in looks when you up scale something to much. Look at BF3 or any newer PC game and you will see the difference. Games that are really in HD look much different then games being upscaled. Really though this is the first game I have ever noticed it in before. It just doesn't look like it was made for HD.

At 1024x600 it's closer to being the resolution of TVs from the 80's then HD.

MW2 was 600p upscaled on the PS3 and I believe 640p on the 360; MW3 is likely to be the same/similar.

It is definitely not native 1080 because in the PC version unless you set "image quality" to 'native' it renders at 1280x720 (or less!) then upscales it to your display resolution...
