Not really. You get exactly the same information - rev counter - speed - gear selected - total time - lap time - best lap - mini map - lap counter - position in GT5 just as you did with the original Gran Turismo 14 years ago. They may of added a few bells and whistles over time, but it's basically the same.

I mean as in the style of the HUD, not what's on the HUD itself.

I'm loving it so far. The gameplay feels a bit faster and guns kill quicker too. The killstreak set up and the whole body armour thing is going to take a while to get used to but I'm sure once I've got the hang of it, it'll be great.

As for the menus being 'the same as MW2', they are very similar. But why fix something that isn't broken? They've added some nice new touches to the gameplay, there's no need to mess about with the menus!

Games get older quicker than most new shows on ITV sometimes (see GT5 in its current state for me actually). MW2 is decently old now among some games so MW3 should be making further progress over it at this time. Again this is only multiplayer I truly speak for as I haven't seen any other modes just yet.

We were playing MW2 online as early as last week. If MiniFam hadn't arrived (and given you Premium  ), I'd still have been playing it yesterday!

Just like for GTAV, I'd like to see GTAVC but with planes and no drowning, there's nothing wrong with tweaking a game that has nothing wrong with it to make it better.

Dang I guess the campaign really is only around 5 hours. Same thing BF3 did. Sheesh thats pathetic that these campaigns are getting so short. Good thing I am only renting it.
Well, since there's more and more people asking for a broader choice in multiplayer online gaming they are probably forced to do it.

And renting a game just wouldn't cut it for me when playing online :dopey:

They put a COD game out EVERY year. The first month or so is usually online problems especially with cheaters and bugs. Then DLC comes out and has issues for a couple weeks. Then 10-11 months later the next game comes out. Rinse and repeat. There is no way I could justify buying a COD every single year and dealing with the online problems. The last COD I purchased was WAW and I think that was one of the best games of the series besides COD2. I have rented each COD since. And will rent MW3 tonight.

Uuhm, COD for you then...

I mean, good for you then.

I've been watching some gameplay stuff and I just can't bring myself to spend the money. This will be the first COD I haven't owned, I've played them all starting with COD on PC.

First off I agree I really don't like their DLC model and development cycle. I don't like that to stay with the most popular game modes and maps I need to respend the cost of the game in DLC. Also, since playing BF3 I've realized from the videos that I throughly enjoy the more openness of BF. I think that's because COD is very much more of a whoever sees the person first, and aim does play a part, gets the kill. In BF you have more ways of going about getting the kills which I've started to really like.

Anyway I do understand why COD is so extremely popular but I'm afraid it's just not for me anymore.

Battlefield is more of my gaming style too. I like the more open maps and havnig vehicles really keeps you on edge and mixes up the gameplay. Without vehicles in a game I find I get bored quite fast of it, and COD does not have any vehicles you can actually control. Thats why after WAW I have not been able to get into the series. I get bored extremely fast of the COD series. But I can play BF games for years.

Just reserved it from Redbox! Going to pick it up soon, can't wait to be reunited with Soap and Price. (I've always loved the MW storyline, don't hate)

I am interested to see where the campaign story in Modern Warfare 3 goes also. I may need to do a quick refresher reading online for the first two games.

Just played a good hour into the campaign, like it so far.

Probably will be online by the weekend.

Different strokes for different folks at the end of the day like an game company they are trying to make money so the DLC thing doesn't bother me because its your choice you dont have to buy the dlc. I kinda like both types of gameplay it depends on my mood

"MW3" and "Modern Warfare 3" are currently TT.
If i look at the results, i only see
people complaining that it's just like MW2, that was also trending btw...

The G36 for one seems to be very OP. Maybe it is that you just die faster, but you day WAY faster.

I hope they fix the de-rank glitch soon. I don't want to bother playing online if it doesn't count. I'm also not going to waste my double XP time I've saved up if its not going to count.

I only have one question about the game. Does it have the split screen combat training mode like black ops? It's the only part of the game I'm interested in.

I asked last page but it will probably get lost. Is there a combat training mode in MW3?

I think the campaign is awesome.

I am easily pleased, sometimes.

I have really enjoyed the set-pieces, and some of the tasks set at the start of a level just had me thinking "how on earth am I going to do that?", but then you get going and of course, it all pans out in the end.

I would say if you are sceptical, then hire it for the campaign at least.

The first two scenarios are the kind of thing you could show to a mate who has never been into FPS's and instantly convert him.

Dan, the levels on the MP are good, I haven't played too many, as I only had a few games last night, and I've turned it off for this evening as I don't want to totally rape the game on the first play.
What struck me was that they all seem to be multi-tiered.
You can scout about and find stairs in a lot of buildings, which will give you some nice vantage points, but of course, these will become obvious to everyone as they play, and your advantage will decrease, but for now, I have had some fun picking people off from up high with a Barrett. 👍
One slight drawback, it is LOUD without a silencer, and I mean like, biblically loud.
I have no idea what it sounds like to everyone else in the map at the time, but when you pull the trigger on the Barrett, it's like...... well.... it's LOUD.
Of course, like i said, I have no idea what it sounds like to everyone else, because I was the only one using a sniper rifle in MP last night.... everyone else had AR's...... everyone.
Actually, that might explain why I died so often..... oh no wait, that's because I suck.
I felt like all the new maps were bigger, even the smaller ones, but again, I suppose that's just down to lack of familiarity.

Buy it, I'll see you online to do the spec ops missions, which are epic in every way.
You rank up your multiplayer attributes by doing them too, even if you are playing solo, and rather poorly.

Notice a theme here anyone?

Still haven't found a way to switch my stix round, but I am slowly starting to get used to hitting the right stick in to run and hold my breath.
Unfortunately, I can tell it will be a loooooooong time before I start knifing people with the left stick, as everytime I've been faced with a melee attacker so far in the campaign, I've run straight at him and gone "Huuuurrrrrpp"..... ba bum ba bum ba bum, and then died.......

:irked:👍

I'm back. I'm loving the game so far. I just hit level 14 on MP and die at Wave 6 of the Resistance map Survival everytime (Grr). The game is really fun, and I'm pretty alright at it. I'm still trying to find Support killstreaks to use, and the best gun. So far, my two guns past level 1 are the UMP and the SCAR-L. Anyone else have any favorites? The auto unlocked LMG that isn't the L86 is cool too, as well as the Striker.

Wave 6? Is that the first helicopter wave? I recommend buying an LMG to take those out - pick up an 1887 in the first wave, buy an LMG as soon as you can afford to and when you start running out of ammo for the 1887 (due to the enemies no longer using them, so around wave 4), replace it with an MP5 off the ground. Keep your LMG for the Little Birds and Juggernauts.

My best is wave 21 on Resistance - wave 20 had three Juggers whom I barely killed with frags and a PKP, then I got Zerged in wave 21 by the normal guys :(
