Does anybody else think that MW3 looks like MW2 and handles like Black Ops? Seriously, I'm a little disappointed right now, multiplayer is a carbon copy of BO with the dull & drab scenes of MW2. I want something new!

Then you picked up the wrong game my freind. I am glad it plays like MW2 and the engine runs smooth and fast.

LOL, I must be tired then. Then again, I've only played two maps, I'll play the rest tomorrow.

Give it at least two weeks my freind let it grow on you a little and try more maps. Also what part of VA are you in just curious.

Hmmm, like upper-eastern, but not all the way up. DC is like a 1:30 drive on a good day I think.

I'd agree with that, Treyarch has a bit more creativity (Remote-Controlled Toy Car of Doom? A Golf Course? Zombies on the Moon?) but IW/Sledgehammer has tradition on its side (I think :p)

After having seen some MW3 footage, I really want it (mainly for MP and Survival. But I also want BF3 . Good think I've got my birthday one month after Christmas :D

Watched this video, I haven't bought the game yet but I'm disapointed. I didn't play Black Ops but I played a fair ammount of MW2, I had forgotten how much of an arcade shooter this was, whats more the graphics are weak.

I wanted to believe that a big release like MW3 would be better than this. Definitely gonna stick with other games now I think.

The only thing that should matter - the gameplay - is fine. Yeah, it looks identical to MW2 but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

So far I've encountered people using all sorts of guns and have only been noobtubed twice in around eight hours of gaming (both of which happened in the same game!). Gameplay-wise it is definitely better than MW2 - think MW2 without the BS and with a killstreak system that promotes objective play - even if it doesn't look any different visually.

The maps are rubbish though.

Hey guys like i said i got hardened yesterday but i wont get it until my birthday or dec. 3rd. Will i still be able to activate my elite and founder codes then or is there a date of when i have to redeem them by. Thanks

I think I'll devote my time today to making my classes as good as possible and maybe even use the double XP code Mountain Dew emailed me (no idea why they did). Does anyone know what the 4th thing down in the Prestige Shop is? I'm pondering whatever that is or an Extra Class.

Tried playing MP and not get killed every time I spawn and it's just... I can't even describe how horrible my matches were. I tried TDM, Domination, and Demolition and I spawned and got shot within 15 seconds on each match. It's as if you need to camp to win.

BF games have always been more of my style for shooters. Land and air vehicles to control and just much larger maps. Feels more like a real war.

I rented MW3 and played the campaign for 2 hours and the multiplayer for 1 hour. So far it is a very good game all around. Yes it is for sure very similar to MW2 but I feel this one is a lot better. I do still wish this game had some sort of matchmaking because one of the games I was a level 10 with low level weapons and ended up with a team of level 50s that were just destroying our team. Plus it was 4 vs 8. Very unbalanced. But other than that 1 game it was fun online. Also only got disconnected from 1 game. I really like the "Kill Confirmed" game mode. Reminds me of the skull mode in Halo Reach. If your team doesnt pick up the tags you dont get the kill. Thats a great new mode to the COD series.

MW3 is a good rental but not a purchase for me. I usually end up getting bored very quick in these COD games. So I will be getting BF3 for christmas and just sticking to a rental with MW3. Looking forward to finishing up the campaign tonight or tomorrow. Then probably check out Spec Ops. But I cant wait to get BF3 for christmas. :)

I don't think i even bothered finishing the single player storyline in MW2. I do however, have 728 hours of multiplayer racked up so far....  :(

All these modern war style games have the same story anyway, there is a nasty man who stole a nuke, the americans have to stop the nasty man or the russians will get them.

Reall y enjoyed my gaming last night.
Still havent touched the solo campaign, just playing from about 7- 1 last night got me to lvl 20, pro on my three perks and plenty of time getting my custom classes in order.
Currently running a M4 red dot and using quick reload, quick aim, and faster moving whem ads.
Works well so far and despite my rusty fps skills Ive been doing pretty well in most games.

Definitely like this game more than B.O.
Cant wait to play again tonight (using gtp_kent tag).

The solo campaign is great until you get to
the obligatory stealth section. Why the hell they continue to put stealth bits in every game I'll never know. They simply don't work in a shooter like this! UGH.

To my knowledge you have to activate your founder codes by Nov. 13th or maybe that's just for those who didn't get the hardened edition?

Here's some info from the Call Of Duty wikia....

Founder Features
http://callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/Call_of_Duty_ELITE
Founders are members that either buy the MW3 Hardened edition or activate a membership by November 13, 2011.
Unique weapon camouflage
Unique Call of Duty ELITE profile skin
Special player card and emblem
Access to #Founder group
Clan XP Boost
Exclusive prizes and competitions

Sidenote: I haven't played the single player campaign yet, I may try it later today. Also, Elite still isn't working properly.

That guy is a HUGE tool. The way he looks down on console players is ridiculous and he's so far up his own backside it's no surprise his FOV sucks. Also, what the hell is that ridiculous voice all about? Nobody speaks like that!

You need to activate the membership by the13th (I think) and the website says you can't redeem the founder status until after the 13th.

If you watched the video, he was actually saying "I don't blame you console players for playing this" and actually said that as a PC game it isnt worth it but its alright on consoles.

You didnt watch the video and jumped to conclusions. Everything he said about the game made sense, and he was pretty clear about the fact that it was his opinion and that he completely understands if you think otherwise?

He is Total Biscuit (or Cynical Brit), he's well known for doing the commentry for big gaming events along with his cynical reviews and play throughs of games, he is brutally honest and is not afraid to shout his opinion. He does have some cheesy 70's disco voice but I think thats just his voice? I don't know. Everything he said in his video about MW3 and BF3 made sense, even if he might have over exaggerated it, he pretty much makes it clear it is just his opinion.

Yeah I thought he was pretty reasonable. He didn't harp on a bunch of anti console stuff. He pointed out some opinions on why he prefers PC, and the problems with the PC version, and gave a lot of explanations about why he feels that way. He didn't do any namecalling, and made it quite clear that he doesn't blame console players for liking the game.

He also at least took the time and gave the game a chance. Its not as if he's just some BF3 fanboy who sits in forums bashing MW without actually playing it.

I skipped MW2 and Black Ops so I decided to pick this one up. I finished up the single player campaign this morning. There were a few standout moments that were a lot of fun but there were also plenty of things that were just laughable. It took about 5 hours on hardened which was more or less what I expected. Everything is very fast paced so they actually manage to jam quite a lot into that 5 hours. The ending is pretty satisfying. Might try some of the co-op content if any of my friends pick it up on PC, but I've had enough COD multiplayer over the years so I probably wont be spending time on that. As a PC game.. probably not worth the $60 I paid for it, but to be fair, most shooters in the last couple of years haven't been.

So saying that consoles can't be used competitively makes sense? It really doesn't. As long as everyone is on the same playing field with the same controls, it can be played competitively and it often is! He was making out that only PC gamers can play competitively, which is a ridiculous statement to make. It was also the way he said it that made me laugh, he really scoffs at console gamers who play for competition.

And no, I didn't watch the whole thing as it's 45 minutes long. Which is, quite frankly, ridiculous.

EDIT: Just skipped to a random part and heard him say "Oh good, it's started the game as 4 v 5! That's good! Can people join in the meantime? Probably not". The game starts when the teams are fairly evenly matched and plenty of people often join during loading screens. And you thought I was jumping to conclusions!

He is right, autoaim is not really valid for real competitive gameplay, the point he was making is that it is never 100% down to the player. I'm not sure what your edit part is really trying to say, why is it relevant?

M.O.A.B. 25 kill streak which kills everyone on the opposing team and calls in an EMP. Also gives everyone on your team double xp for the rest of the game.
