I just bought the game today. First impressions are really great. Campaign went beyond my expectations so far. Attention to detail is stunning and I love the feel of the guns etc. One thing to point out though is that I am finding the missions quite easy compared to MW2. I'm doing it on Hardened Difficulty right now and It feels a little easier than it should. Despite other people's claims I think the story picks up well after MW2 and is easy to understand. I really enjoy the whole story going on. I'm disappointed in the first stealth mission though. Hopefully there will be more later on in further down the line.

Multiplayer is great. I loved MW2 and I absolutely love this updated version. There seems to be less health available and more stopping power in the guns but I love the balance. So far I'm not to keen on all the new killstreaks, though. I got a Juggernaut using the support option and to be quite honest it was rubbish. It feels a little overwhelming at the moment with all these things being unlocked and all of the options etc to look at but I'm sure it'll be great when I get used to it.

So so far I'd give:
Campaign=8/10
Multiplayer=9/10

Overall worth the money. With all of the overwhelming choice of things to do I'm sure this will keep me coming back for a long, long time.

I'm still getting lunged at.

They still didn't fix the Akimbo USP .45 knife glitch, and did anyone notice that the MP412 sounds like the USP did, and the USPs sound different than what they did in MW2 an CoD 4 I think?

And in the Campaign I'm on the mission called "Down the Rabbit Hole" and all the things before that, wow, just wow. The campaign is amazing and has really amazed me.

Had my ISP turn off interleaving on my line over the weekend, played a match just now and it felt a lot less laggy :D Not sure if it was a placebo effect but I didn't jump around one bit (was having at least one lag spike every single game before), had a three-bar connection instead of two and the pings to the Aus/NZ dedicated servers seemed 20-40ms lower 👍

I'm playing the campaign and I'm really enjoying it so far! A big grin came over me as I took off in the F/A-18, such beauty!👍

MW3/BF3 can get a bit confusing.

The F/A-18 corresponds to a BF3 mission, in COD you only are in a AC-130 doing sort of the same.

What part in the campaign are you at? What time length or mission name? Because when you get to a point, your jaw will drop.

They also changed the sound of the Barret. And by changed, I mean ruined... now it sounds like a BB gun. :grumpy:

It seems like the maps don't have any really unique points. Like in MW2, Terminal had the plane, Highrise had the crane or the 2 buildings, Estate had the mansion, and it seems like these maps just have like, rooms, a hallway, there's an area over here that's outside, etc. Anyone agree?

Hardhat has that area outside of the tunnel that everyone tries to get, Arkaden has the mall, there are others I'm forgetting. But that's just me.

UPDATE:
Played another hour or so in campaign. 3 hours in so far now. Still finding the missions great although they feel a little to similar to the ones before. It's getting a little harder now which is good. Again the attention to detail is fantastic. The game continues to play so smoothly, too.

Played a tiny bit of multiplayer. Finding it hard in general because of all these new maps. I'm around level 15 now and I mostly play Sabotage, which has been my favourite throughout the series (from which I started playing which was since Call of Duty 4). Too much things are being unlocked too fast, for me. I'm still learning how the system works, I don't have time to try out all of these new guns and attachments!

Tried spec ops for the first time. Absolutely loving it. Completed the first three missions all on Veteran difficulty (solo). This is the type of stuff I love: challenge. Haven't tried Survival mode yet, though.

Spec Ops=9/10

I have to agree, to me a lot of maps seem similar in a way.
My favorite so far are Village and Arkaden, but then again I haven't played all of the maps that much.

I concur also. When I had it, all the maps seemed the same, Village and Arkaden were the only two that interested me. But if the DLC is up to the standards of those two, I'll have no problem buying the game and an Elite membership.

I have a question why does everyone hate campers? I never understood why that was an issue.

Well, I don't like it when people lay in a corner with their sights aimed at the doorway waiting for you to run in. I'm not saying snipers are campers, those are 2 different things. I don't get mad when being sniped, I do want to go get revenge :).

The people that just sit in one corner, regardless of the objective or how the game is going, and just wait. I don't understand how they can even play that way because it is so incredibly boring, not to mention often what you do if you are bad at the game.

Indeed, though there is nothing better than getting revenge on a camper.

Have to say, I've not noticed them much in MW3, sure they are there, but the maps don't lend to camping as much imo. Having just spent an hour trying to play MW2 and getting bored with just how bad the maps are (not all, mind) compared to MW3.

I think there are camping spots with two or three entrances, which aren't very noob-ish (in my opinion) because you have to be aware of your surroundings, not one spot, and are very fun to try and hold down by yourself.

The absolute thing that makes me rage quit eventually are quickscopers, no scopers, and trick shooters. If they still do it after a couple games, I quit. However, if I do kill them, I T-bag them if I kill them. That is the only reason I T-bag. I don't T-bag or mess with the best people everwhich are people in last stand or second chancers in previous games.

I'm going to assume you wrote MW2 where you meant to say MW3 and MW3 where you meant to say MW2, because MW2 has vastly superior maps :sick:

Nope, some of the maps are so focused on one or two places, just encourages camping and not moving. There are some good maps in there, Scrapyard and Karachi being my two favourites. But the likes of Wasteland, Estate and Invasion are just balls.

Mind you I've only played about half the maps of MW3, but the only one I hate so far is Resistance.

Will always be subjective though.

Oh my god, some of the guys from the Delta Force are soooooo bad ass in survival mode.
One guy elbowed an enemy in the face, threw him over his shoulder, and then took out some side arm and shot him in the face, three times.

Anybody have any good Survival Mode strategies?
What's your favorite map?
