Our weekly Monday Night Racing challenges continue the tradition of weeknight racing (Eastern Time Zone). Our events have evolved, over the years, away from typical on-line racing lobbies into a community that helps us stay sharp, make us think, and are bound to improve both our driving and tuning skills.
We have been racing in open lobbies since August 20, 2012, so the Real settings of our on-line lobbies are well tested. Events and settings are designed to challenge the driver's skills with 1-make races, to encourage fair and safe driving from everyone, and to encourage tuning within reasonable limits (default power and weight, which is good practice for you Sport Mode drivers). If you don't tune, suggested settings are posted here and in our PSN Party Chat.
Most driver aides are restricted unless they help with developing driver skills (ABS, driving line, apex markers). Reasonable tire grip is used. Consumables, such as tire wear and fuel, are calculated to make us think about our racing. Time of Day advancement is used to improve our memory and track knowledge. If you haven't golded all licenses yet, then our races will help to hone yours skills for working on them.
Monday Night Racing encourages beginners or drivers returning to GT to get up to speed with us, and we will also do our best to chase any aliens.😗The experiential learning method and repetition are used as learning tools for any driver regardless of your skill. This means that shorter tracks get used first, longer tracks last. Except for special events, most races last between 15-20 minutes, which allow drivers to warm up, get comfortable and, if mistakes are made, there may be time to recover and make a comeback.
Strong penalties and Heavy Damage are applied across all races because it helps us to learn from our mistakes, and it self-regulates the quality of the racing. They also discourage careless or aggressive drivers from interrupting our races. Bad driving habits, such as dive bombing in corners and other contact, will not be tolerated, so you should count on being in safe lobbies.
We follow a monthly schedule which ensures that every type of content in GT gets used:
Week 1: small street cars - the equivalent of N100-N500
Week 2: small race / tuned cars up to Gr.4, rally cars
Week 3: big street cars - the equivalent of N500-N1000
Week 4: big race / tuned cars, Gr.3 and up
Week 5: special events, something different
Any car, any track, Time Of Day, weather, consumables. If it is in the game, it is fair game.
Once a car is used, then another unused car is selected. That way, over time, a good amount of your garage will get tuned reasonably well. Everyone has the same car and adjustable car parts. This ensures that you get the fairest chance when competing against a wide variation of other drivers. Check out the list below to see what challenges you have missed.
Monday Night Racing's Retired Cars
If this kind of racing interests you, select All Regions in GT7 and look for Monday Night Racing - 1-make [car name] ONLY lobbies. Select "follow" for this thread, to get notifications or e-mail from GT Planet. With the loss of PSN Communities, weekly race details will be posted here, as usual, and in the message list attached to our PSN Party Chat.
Race until you drop. Most Monday Night Racing lobbies stay open for 2 hours (more or less). If the lobby is full, join later. No points are awarded, no attendance is required; MNR is low pressure and no-nonsense, to help ensure everyone can have fun while doing challenging racing.

"Monday was a fun night of racing! It was my first time meeting up, good range of skill level, I loved the wall penalties (keeps you honest...maybe a little too honest hahaha). I will say the fuel savings threw me for a loop as I ran out in one race and had to back off another. Most of all its a good group of guys" Hoax311

"They were some challenging (but still fun) races." mgfetterelli
"Love this group, it's given me the confidence to move to Manual Transmission" ToneDef
"Racing with MasterGT in Monday Night Racing league has been a great experience for me. ... However sticking with it, accepting guidance from MasterGT and other drivers and a little bit of practise has resulted in me being competitive with most of the drivers in our league." skippyvb
Clean racing, inspired conversations on many topics, how to improve driving skills, tuning, posted setups with an all around idea of having FUN. SJTJCloudRacer
