Most Hated/Loved Corner In GT?

Lately I've hated eau rouge and pouhon of all of my heart, but thats only because of gt academy screwing with me, its actually really nice corners. really.

the really hated corners are:
Paddock hill bend (retarded)
Druids bend (ok thats not too bad)
Graham hill bend (would be ok if the stupid runoff area was grass)
Surtees (pure evil corner-fied)
Hawthorn bend (too fast to be blind, too blind to be fast)
Westfield bend (que?)
Dingle dell corner (DUDE!)
Stirlings bend (again, not too bad)
Clark curve (who came up with this?)

Yeah... you can see where I'm going with this...

Oh, and last corner on Big Willow, I mean come on, what kind of bull**** is that?

Favorites?
Well I'd say the entire Spa Francorchamps except Bus Stop, and not with stupid cones!
-The entire Suzuka, apart from the final chicane and Degner 2.
-Both Trail mountain and Deep forest raceway! they are really sweet tracks IMO, better than any tilke-designed crap.

But ultimately, the best corners in the game is probably the Porsche curves, they never feel wrong, ever. and I get an erection when I get them right:P

Also a poll would be good in this thread?:)

Druid's Bend and Clark Curve are utterly infuriating. They're both awkward and pretty much lack a "natural" line entirely. Good for overtaking though, at least - largely because of that fact.

On the other end, Turn 6 through the Corkscrew on Laguna Seca might be the most satisfying sub-complex ever. Nailing that entire section without hesitating and losing time is the most amazing feeling.

Every single corner of the Nurburgring GP track. I wish it was bombed and the ground was scorched so nothing else could ever be built there. Ironically, it's mere meters away from the most fabulous and lovely track mankind has ever made: The REAL Nurburgring.

🤬 Hermann Tilke.

The most hated corner for me is the big loop of Cape Ring. It's just frustrating :yuck:
And the most loved corners are: the 130R of Suzuka, the Eau Rouge of Spa and the right corner at the Flugplatz of Nordschleife (the right corner after a little jump at the start of the 2nd sector).

Hated Corners: Are Brands Hatch and Motegi corners? If so, those. Motegi seems to hate cars going fast, while Brands Hatch thinks it's a child's sandbox.

Favorite Corners: Are Deep Forest and Cape Rings corners? If so, those. Cape ring is a challenge but very, very satisfying when you get it right.

I love the section of deep forest between the end of the first corner and the first tunnel, so much fun to toss a car through. I also like Eau Rouge and most of the Nurburgring.

I don't like the first corner on Braids Hatch or pretty much the entire Nurburgring GP track.

i never liked the corkscrew

problem is you're going on blind faith

you brake before you see the corner or the concrete wall after the sand

the best has to be eau rouge

in fact i would say Spa is the best track in any game

sadly i dont rate Bathurst all that much and I reckon the 'ring is too much for any car with decent power (ie. over 500hp)

In any GT game? Tough but the one I enjoyed the most was probably the right hander after the tunnel in El Capitan.

Thirty seconds in.

In GT5 I enjoyed the left-right chicane that drops down in Cape Ring Periphery. Although that might have just been because practically no-one knew where to brake for it, so I always made up time there.

Least favourite is the hairpin/chicane at Fuji. Ruins the flow of the circuit up until that point. I don't enjoy any long straight-slow chicane combination actually. The Mulsanne chicanes and the Rettifilo chicanes are other examples.

Most hated? First corner of Brands Hatch 🤬

One of the most loved by me is the last combination from Trial Mountain :O

I love:

All corners of Nurburgring
Schumacher at Nurb GP
Last long corner at Big Willow
Second corner of Spa (left right uphill)
Pool section at Cote d'Azur
and a lot more...

I don't like:

Ovals.

How/why do you all know the names of the corners? I guess it's my Nascar upbringing, but 1,2,3 or 1,2,3,4 was all I ever needed to know.

Favourites:

Paddock Hill Bend (Turn 1) at Brands Hatch - It's a massive pain in the anus to get right, but when you get used to it and go online, everyone else spins off, and then you overtake them. And then you laugh to yourself.

The Sweeper (Turn 8 & 9) at Big Willow - If you nail the last corner coming onto the straight, you also laugh to yourself.

Rafael (Turn 1 chicane that isn't really there) at Ascari - A corner that's not really there. Hilarious.

Breidsheid (pseudo-hairpin left-hander 3 or 4 corners before north Kesselchen straight) at Nordschliefe - Partly because the German pronunciation sounds like 'Bride shyte'. Partly because nailing it as well as the corner after can seriously boost speed.

Least favourites:

Corner before final hairpin at Tokyo - much like the rest of the track I kind of wish it wasn't there. It's not even satisfying when you nail it.

Most of Fuji - Less Tarmac runoff, more challenge, please! 1980's layout was the dog's bollocks!

Turn 6 at Matterhorn Rotenboden - Horrible left hander going into massive downhill right-hander. Most mid-engined cars will explode here. Even worse is the subtle-yet-murderous kink after this long right-hander that leads into an even steeper downhill section before a near hairpin left-hander.

Did you know that Hermann Tilke didn't design that track?

Although he did the Mercedes Arena. Enough.

Wow. Tough call!
Faves: Eau Rouge at Spa-Francorchamps, Ascari at Monza, corkscrew at Laguna Seca, Esses at Suzuka, the entire top of the mountain at Mt. Panorama Bathurst, Magotts-Beckets-chapel at Silverstone etc etc etc.

Hated? Paddock Hill bend scores pretty high. T1 at Indianapolis aswell.

Favourite: last corner of Deep Forrest. It's been my favourite corner since GT1. OR the dipper and esses at Bathurst.

Most hated: last corner of Willow Springs... It's awful... It goes for too long, it's oddly shaped, there's no reference points, and if you get it wrong (which in my case is 95% of the time) it messes-up your acceleration onto the main straight.

Most hated - runner up: Every other corner on Willow Springs.

Most HATED? The last 2 corners at spa they completely kill the beautiful flow of the track for me.

Most LOVED? The freaking huge circle at cape ring. I can pass about 3-4 cars there from 2-3 seconds back behind my first victim. (Plus the stupid jump at the end or beginning is a blast!)

People hate Brands Hatch? Weird.

I don't get the hate, I quite like the circuit itself, especially the 80's version.

And I really like the last corners on Big Willow...

Me too, it's actually one of my favourites. Perhaps an odd nomination as one of my favourite corners would be the Daytone Road Course bus stop/double chicane, I like high speed chicanes that you can throw a car into.

In any GT game? Tough but the one I enjoyed the most was probably the right hander after the tunnel in El Capitan.

If we can include any game, El Capitan wins everything, every corner of that circuit is great and the whole track has a superb flow.

A circuit I really don't enjoy is the Nurburgring GP (or D). Motegi is also a rubbish track. I can't really decide on a most hated corner, but you can include any ridiculously slow hairpin that ruins the flow of the track.

Most loved:
Blanchimont in 500BHP Super GT500

Most hated:
Corner with no name (Spa)
Turn 1 Daytona Road

Most loved: Degner at Suzuka... or the S curves... or Spoon.

Hated: Paddock Hill at Brands Hatch, cause where the hell am I supposed to turn in there?

Best:
Porsche-LeMans
Indy-LeMans

Worst:
Turn 1 on Daytona RC-Daytona RC
Ford Chicanes-LeMans

Going through the Porsche Chicanes is like a work of art. You can get them wrong on the exit of the first turn over the bridge, or at corvette corner. You can take it rough by bouncing all over the place. Or you can perfect it like a work of art.

Going down towards Indy is the second most fun part of the track, and GT. Side by side LMP1 racing is amazing. All the way down until the final left bend where you can overtake on the outside and cut the inside perfectly towards Arnage. It's as if your car looses all of its weight and float down to it.

T1 at DRC sucks. Any car I take after deliberately tuning, slides all over the place, and I always go tale-end first surprisingly.

Ford Chicanes.... Where do I start. I have a feeling that they are a bit too... Well, pokey. As in they are stretched out too far or the cars are too tight in the game to take correctly..

Why the hate with Turn 1 at Daytona Road Course. It's so simple to get it right.

After you get out of the tri-oval, brake hard, downshift if you need, let it coast (depending on the car, the time you can let the car coast changes), then brake hard again to make the turn. I love getting it right online, you can go from last to 1st on that turn alone  I beated a full field of LMPs with a GT500 once in GT5 because of that turn hahaha

Every piece of track touched by that German circuit designer is my most hated corner.

My favourite corner is Paddock Hill Bend, it's very, very challenging.

haha lol that was funny

No.
So, not a fan of Herman Tilke

That's ok. I couldn't agree more. He's ruined so many circuits & designs expensive car parks masquerading as race tracks :irked:
