Most obedient and disobedient cars

This week, I've been trying to make a replica of an SL65 AMG Black Series. What I've got instead is the new candidate for the most disobedient car.

Disobedient : Merc SL55 AMG (SL65 AMG Black Replica). This thing is bipolar, and has multiple personalities, and has depression, and anger issues, and doesn't take medication for it. It's a freaking monster. You want it to go around this corner, it understeers. That corner? Awkward understeer then snap oversteer? That corner? We'll never know, the brakes weren't good enough to make that corner. What an awful, awful car. No matter what suspension setups I throw at it, it decides to just get a little worse each time. Piece of crap. :grumpy:

Odd coincidence that I was reading a FAQ on Nordschleife where Mike Kimball raved about Nascars, the Ford Fusion in particular, on that track.

Edit:

I found the car OK-ish on Tokyo after adding some camber. I wonder if you're "Mike Kimball".

Yes that's me :) Yes if you put Racing Softs and max the downforce, you'd be surprised what the #99 will do around the 'Ring. But I've even tested it with Comfort Hard tires and still didn't find it annoying like I do the 370Z on SH...

Love your avatar btw... "Solidarity!"

Everyone never mention the 2j and that's is a obedient car because that car grip like a red bull if you tune it good and at twin ring Motegi, with a good tune,it was faster then the xjr-9

Ironic you should mention that it handles like the Red Bull car. They both have fans sucking them down onto the track. The XJR-9 is also a very difficult little car to drive correctly, so lots is quicker. The first key to speed, is simply being comfortable.

I thought the ESCUDO was surprisingly obedient... its turbo lag sucks but the grip is unbelievable. I tested it at the Nordschleife, and it was rather fun actually.

I forgot to mention (and I know this may draw some flames) the 370Z GT Academy... I can't stand the handling in that car, and I like to think my driving style is flexible. Any car that needs its diff set to 50 80 0 by default has got something fundamentally wrong with it.

The 370Z stock; beautiful. The 370Z tuned car; WHAT DID YOU DO, Polyphony Digital!? God, that was a beast to drive around Motegi, and Motegi East is my favourite REAL LIFE paved circuit under 20 miles long.

Well, maybe it's just me, or it could be my car, it was 100% stock, so maybe the camber and LSD settings weren't right, because when I accelerated, even a little bit the tires made a lot of smoke. :ouch:

Camber and LSD and aero help - but I actually dial in a lot of oversteer particularly for corner entries. The Arcade Only #24 Impala, stock with all the driver aids off (ABS off also) and RH tires, at Nordschleife gave me 6'38.9, then with more concentration a 6'32.8. It takes a patient right foot, but it does what I would expect. That's why NASCAR has grown on me thanks to GT5 - it's like driving a really heavy Viper that has a lot more horsepower.

My most obedient car: 1999 Spoon Integra
Reason: Most of the FF cars I drive have appalling understeer as expected in a FWD car. But with the integra, it is much more bearable on tight courses like the 'ring. Also, it may not have alot of power (227 hp), but this is one of the few cars where you can feel it using every bit of it.
Most Disobediant car: Renault Clio V6
Reason: I remember seeing it on an episode of Top Gear and they were discussing how the steering in a range rover is better than it, but I had no idea that it was that bad. I have to slow down to 1st gear in almost every corner.

Most Disobediant car: Renault Clio V6

This is true. Firstly: Spoon does a good job with tunes. I knew where to gather inspiration from, when I decided to run an FF car in my series.

Secondly: I can't drive that Renault very well. The Top Gear episode just explains why.

One Disobediant car: Saleen S7

As much as I would like to drive this car - its a nightmare. :nervous: It does have that F40ish raw power - pure super car feel, but it's impossible to master in race situation.

Or is it just me... :guilty:

All supercars want to kill you.

Jeremy Clarkson proves this.

Obedient: Peugeot 908 HDi FAP
Drives fantastically around de la Sarthe, perfectly readable and fast. I love that car.

Disobedient, but I love 'em: F40 and Enzo
It's a wonderful feeling to manage to tame these, I simply love those cars.

Disobedient and I hate the piece of crap: Lotus Elise from Tog Gear

Most obedient - my 500bhp 458 italia GT3 replica, handles like a dream and is completly controllable at all times, even on severely worn tyres

Most disobedient - McLaren F1, no matter what i do with it it will not turn in corners, and the brakes arent brilliant either, and its slower round top gear then my previously mentioned 458 despite weighing less, having more power and racing softs

obedient: NSX RM.

disobedient: truno gt apex 86 shegino something something, is just bad.

Disobedient : NSX Type-R,slide when i need good grip and grippy when i need a drift

Obedient : Nissan GTR Spec-V, just MARVELOUS !

lol that car is my bff, perfectly responds to my every input

disobedient: ferrari enzo, so much understeer...

OBEDIENT
NSX-R Prototype LM Road Car
Let's be honest, this is a straight up GT500 car for the street. It's a very different dynamic from any other road-legal NSX, but once you get the feel for its nuances and learn to harness that 10,000RPM powerband it's like magic on four wheels. In the right hands, this thing can lay waste to pretty much anything that runs 500-600PP and then some!

Lancia Stratos
The Stratos has a reputation as one of the most hated and feared cars by Gran Turismo players, and for good reason. So why do I love it so much? It does EXACTLY what you tell it to do! No restraint, no electronics thinking for you, no sacrifices made for moron drivers so they don't kill themselves, it's as raw and unadulterated as a car can get. Why do people hate it? It responds faster than you can blink and has literally zero margin for error, it requires the precision of brain surgery to wield properly, otherwise it's trying to kill you every 20 seconds and it requires ninja reflexes to thwart its assassination attempts. Great car and is possibly the most obedient car ever made, this bad boy will separate the men from the boys.

DISOBEDIENT
Mitsubishi 3000GT
I get these all the time in shuffle races, and it remains the only car I've ever seen that can UNDERSTEER AND OVERSTEER SIMULTANEOUSLY! I used to own all of them, the first time I got one in a shuffle race I went and sold every single one. I've never bought one since.

Volvo S60
It's bad, just trust me and save yourself the months of psychiatric therapy you'll need after driving it.

Obedient: stock Ferrari P4. Dream of a car.
Disobedient: fully tuned Ferrari P4. Nightmare of a car.

Lol,same car,different tune,different feel

Too much horsepower can do that. The Ferrari 330 P4 was built with so much horsepower, as the rest of the car could handle, as it was. Adding more makes it too challenging to drive correctly.

I know man :D:tup:

Especially in 100% surface water, 100% rain, and comfort hard tires:dunce:.

Make sure you have an ambulance behind the car

 if only it were that easy, to save people. In Le Mans 1955, I don't care how many ambulances were behind the cars, nothing would have saved everyone. :( ...and may they rest in peace...

Yea,but i respect their death, end their lives on a race track

Yes, I do too, though, it is quite unfortunate, when several people are hit by flying motors and instantly "killed." So, the lesson/morale of this story, is not to change what Ferrari did, to win at Le Mans; you don't know better than Ferrari. :sly:
