I say the new Chapparal Vision GT is overrated. Fast in a straight line, slower than a Fiat 500 in the corners.

I would post a video showing you how much faster the 2X is at cornering compared to a 500, but I really dont think it is necessary.

Also, try driving the 2X with a wheel. There seems to be a bug on the controller that causes the car to sporadically under-steer, which doesn't seem to effect the wheel. Hopefully they fix it. In the mean time, the 2X is still far faster in the corners than a 500.

And also, it is not over-rated. Every controller user has complained about the steering bug, and no-one is over rating it, so how is it over rated?

Look a little closer. And why wont you answer the question? :odd:
So now if we have a differing opinion we have to explain why we have our opinions to you? Who elected you Captain GTPlanet? Opinions aren't always based on reason, sometimes you just don't like something it doesn't have to have an explaination.

For something to be classed as overrated he needs to have at least some basis as to why it's overrated, otherwise there is absolutely no point in the thread.

but... wait what? Umm, i think you lost me...

Im going to try and break this down right now, just because everyone is confusing me...
This tread is called 'Most over-rated car in GT6 (no flame wars)'. In order for a car to be 'over rated', it has to be 'over rated', right? I mean, if i said 'the ford focus is over rated', that doesn't really make sense, because no-one is saying it is any better than it is. Similarly, if i said the redbull fan car is over rated, then that wouldn't make sense either, because it is easily the best car in the game, so you can't really over rate it. Can you? All i see in this thread right now is some people wrongly accusing cars of being 'over rated', when they either weren't being rated highly in the first place, or are just as good as everyone says they are. You can't really have an opinion about how other people 'over rate' a car. If i annoyed anyone, i am sorry, but this just doesn't make any sense to me.

I saw that on the seasonal whatching the the most fastest guy sure he use a wheel and on a corner where i can only do it at 240kmh he does at 330kmh...

You got the bold part right at least:sly:

Yeah, at this point, this thread is borderline pointless. people are either repeating cars on older pages or, dare i say, not making much sense. If you were to read my signature, you would probably find out why that bugs me! ;)

Chaparral 2J. Absolutely ruins the seasonals for me to see those literal vacuum cleaners take the top spots on the leaderboard. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

It understeers badly on a wheel, too. This is coming from someone who's given extensive testing on Trial Mountain and in the HSR seasonal. I don't find it overrated, generally because I've never seen it get any praise to begin with.

Also, nice (IRL) name. ;)

My overrated car is the R35 GT-Rs, excluding the Nismo since I haven't driven it yet. I only hear good things about their handling but it does not suit my driving style, at all. My lines are a mess with it.

Its obvious, that the most overrated car is the Alfa Romeo 156.
I mean, so "many" people use it, and it steers too good, and its standard.
Wait, are we supposed to be serious?

I drive a 2J. The washing machine/vacuum cleaner is a murderous machine on the time trials, but depending on the driver, can pathetically fail against LMPs and high-range race cars. A 2J can also lose if someone gets dirty and knocks the car to the back at the start. (personal experience) Plus, only three gears. Not too useful on SSRX if you don't have the first gear set up right with pole position/rolling start.

^That's true. Although driving it in reverse is like driving a brick at 400 kp/h. Any slight input sends it spinning like a top.

@Obelisk
Set the brake-balance all the way to the rear. I also unplug the FF-cable on my wheel. You can even drive a full lap then^^

You'd be surprised at how fun to toss around a GT-R is in GT6 when you really push it hard.

I'll probably get to it soon, have more cars to best before that though. :p
I find the GT-R to be quite different to approach, the fear of exceeding it's limits is far lessened because it is fairly easy and well balanced to drive. This lets me be far more agressive when driving it, tossing it all over the place with great joy, very few machines let me do this.

Most overrated car in the game has got to be the Shelby GT500 I struggled to keep up with a Boss 302 even after a few bolt on mods... a car with 450 hp was beating a 700+ hp Shelby because its so darned nose heavy! After I tuned it I fixed the problem, found a good suspension tune that worked, but still... I never would have guessed a Boss 302 Laguna Seca would outrun a Shelby GT500 stock vs stock on a road course

My thread has hit rock bottom. I started this thread to see who thought was really overrated (or overused), but everyone is just repeating cars found in earlier pages. You need to look at older pages of this thread before you think about posting. I've been accused of doing this before .

Well there is no over rated car in GT6 or any other game or in real life. Some people may like Veyrons handling some may not. That licensing challenge was not that difficult as you are saying. With veyron you just need to brake early and then it will corner decently like any other car.Only problem with me is its understeer. Many people on this site prefer MP4-12c to an F1.But I prefer the F1.
Some may get fast laps with an F1 and some with a Veyron. It just depends on your driving skill. One can never push a car at its 100%limit both in real life and in video games.
Ultimately what matters is one's familiarity with the car.
