Yes. It's the real driving simulator. Last I checked you DRIVE bikes!!

No, you drive a car and ride a bike but that's mere semantics really.
Not sure why people use the marketing slogan 'the real driving simulator' as an excuse to say it's inappropriate to include bikes, it's just a mostly meaningless slogan which could mean anything and since PD already created 'the real riding simulator' as well (so bikes aren't an alien concept like including boats or planes in GT5) the combination of both concepts isn't an illogical one (since they share a lot of content and use the same game structure).

It's just the slogan which needs to be changed perhaps if they include bikes (although that isn't necessary obviously), not the entire concept of the game as they could opt for a separate TT-Life section (which is optional to download) which would just mean an addition for those who like bikes within the same game, not taking away something from those who don't.
Car versus bike action online wouldn't be an issue either, simply select an option to allow/disallow it.

So bring on the bike DLC, unfortunately I think it won't happen though.

The real driving / riding simulator.

perfect! Or "The real Motorsports simulator" should cover it.

Good idea, that would cover all motorsports, including biking.

EDIT: But if they were to put that on the cover, will people want more motorsports then just cars and bikes? Side-car biking anybody? Proper rallies?

It'll be nice to have bikes but they must have their own race, like karts does. But what I want more. Is to have all of the GT tracks including SSR11 to come back and have Rally licence and more rally cars and events.

Errr.... No bikes are gay

That's a mature argument for your stance. Ever ridden a bike at the limit or even at a higher than normal speed? Takes more percision and confidence than doing it with a car. I know it is a different discipline than driving a car, but the addition of bikes could crossover very nicely. I still stand firm that bikes and cars should not be on the track at the same time mingling.

For those of you that thik it takes too much focus away from GT5 or GT6 or DLC, it is no different than if PD decided to make a seperate bike sim. It is actually probably better to be working on cars / bikes simutaneously. From a programming standpoint there are probably a lot of things that crossover as well.

To all the haters of the idea, I don't get how it really affects you negatively in any way? All the things that you want out of the GT series are either in progress and you will get them whenever Kaz sees fit, or arent going to happen. So adding bikes shouldn't affect your game at all. The only thing it might do is create more exposure, thus creating more revenue, thus creating more resources to make the game better overall.

I'm profusely against bikes being on GT5, and it angers me when people suggest it. It's NOT a bike game, and that's the end of it. I wouldn't even be happy if PD started developing Tourist Trophy 2; this would slow DLC and GT6 development right down. Want a bike game? Buy Moto GP.

NO NO NO...

There is no need for such a childish and immature post.

I want more tracks before bikes.

What this guy said. I want more tracks before bikes because a huge update to the physics will be needed unless if you want a bike that drives like a car.

Could you make your post a little more childish?

No, the post couldn't have been more childish as it already is.

Oh dear, that's like suggesting F2012 to be a credible alternative for GT5 and you saying 'it's not a bike game, and that's the end of it' is an often used 'argument' which seems to suggest only you and those of the same persuasion know what GT is about or should be about, which thankfully isn't the case.

If they're gonna release TT2 anyway at some point, why not have an option to include it in GT5?
I honestly have yet to hear a proper valid argument why a separate (optional) TT-Life mode would harm GT5's content filed under GT-Life in any way, not just a blind hatred for anything bike-related and thinking that the formula of GT-games is set in stone.

Theres a game from PD dedicated to bikes:

It´s the "GT5" of bikes. 👍

Chat soon. :)

Unfortunately it's not remotely close to current. Cannot even play on a modern console.

Looking at the big picture, PD already has your money, my money, and most everyone else remotely interested in GT. That money is likely spent. Sure dlc can generate revenue, but probably not all that significant. Even when there is dlc, there is a large number of people that just complain about it. If they can open up their game to a new audience, they can generate a lot of new revenue. More revenue = more resources. It is simple, the more money they have the more they can do with it. Theoretically it could make development for everything quicker.

How irritated would all the haters be if PD decided to put all their resources into TT2 for a while? I can hear the whaaaaambulance coming already.

Maybe because they use a steering wheel is why they say they don't want bikes? I guess it's, "to hard for them to handle." I'll love to have bikes in GT5 but mainly for GT6. I want to give driving cars a break and start riding some bikes for a change. :)

It would be nice to switch back and forth at will all within the same game. I know PD would make it feel right, which is why I am so passionate about it.

But if they work on bikes, they would, as mentioned before, have to work on a whole new physics engine which will slow down the development of GT6.

This is what also worries me about for GT6. I'll really love to have bikes in the GT series. But it's best to save them for another time if PD has to make a whole new physics engine and wait for 5 years again. :nervous:

Why not save them for "Gran Turismo Generations" :)

You might be waiting 5 years anyway!
