Cup cars in NASCAR run so low that they frequently get stuck if they end up off track. In the past they would need to be towed out, but from this season they now have an air suspension fitted that can lift the cars up via a small air tank carried by the safety crews, saving time and allowing the cars to get back to the pits more quickly. The system was demonstrated on Casey Mears' car after a spin in the first Duel race earlier this week.
