Wow, he catches some serious air time there, and does extremely well to keep it on track, as well as keep the lead,

He even has the balls to look at the crowd whilst he is doing it, his testes must be like friggin space hoppers.

Dave is talking about the video, you're talking about the picture. Different bikes in different situations.

 the picture didn't load on my phone, That's nuts! Valentino Rossi has nothing on this guy, He has to be the Ken Block of the motorcycle world, Plenty of talent, just not enough experience,

Caption:- DAD!, CAN YOU SEE ME NOW? YOUR NOT EVEN LOOKING DARN IT!

Everything begins around 3:05. Also spot this guy's biggest mistake during this crash. :dunce:

@dunone, that's scary, he's a very lucky man,

@GTPanoz, his first mistake was closing his eyes,

The first mistake was having his visor open in the first place... I'm pretty sure in open top, and especially dragster's, that a closed visor on your helmet while driving at speed is mandatory.

And, why in the world would you close your eyes when you set off?

Maybe it was the wind and if his visor was shut he wouldn't have had that problem.

I've made that mistake myself, or had the visor lock break and fly open or even break off, there is no way that he would have had any issue with his visor being open until the car rolled over, unless it was a top fueler, which I don't believe it is, as they launch from 0-125MPH in around a second, but his issue started well before then,

unless there is lots of debris flying around like sand, tire rubber, rocks, etc, you can squint at 90MPH and still see very well, over that and the wind really does start to hurt you,

personally he to me is someone with to much money and not enough experience,

The visor lock falling off happened to me the last time I went karting and I nearly lost it :scared: .

its a brittle bit of kit, and it can fail at any time, even Jenson Button had an issue with his at Hockenheim in his Honda day's, 2006 IIRC, He had to hold his visor down during the straights, then the team got the old silver tape and made it good as new,

I edited this post after I couldn't find the video on you tube, seems no one liked him back then or didn't think it was a big deal,

Bryan Herta had similar incident during a 2005 Indycar race at Fontana with a visor coming open. He was very lucky by not crashing into anybody or getting run over.

From 1'40 onwards ;)

The helmet strap was loose and the helmet was being sucked up by the wind, temporarily strangling him!
And he still managed to get past Alonso. :p

I miss those side-facing wing-mirror cameras.

In Jenson's own words from the time:
JB
Towards the end of the race my helmet strap started to work loose and my helmet was lifting down the straights, which was pulling the strap tight against my throat and choking me. I had to drive one-handed most of the time!

OMG quality F1 onboards from 1995 (Make sure to select 1080p)

Not quite the quality level of Grand Prix 1966 however. If you own a bluray player/ps3 the Grand Prix bluray is a must watch just for the racing scenes (even if most of the cars are fake). One of the top 10 best looking blurays.
These are screencaps but it actually looks better on the BR.

^Wow, I think you just sold me!

That footage is from John Frankenheimer's "Grand Prix" film.
The first onboard shots of a GP car ever if I recall - and the camera car was driven by '61 World Champion, Phil Hill.
