While I'm not too familiar with some of those, someone in the comments mentions one is fatal, the one in the thumbnail incidentally. Can't post videos that involve a fatal crash in it. But again, not sure, anyone mind checking it out?

Not sure . Never knew anyways , if they were fatal . Will take it down anyways

Err... there's only one crash shown. And Anthony Davidson is alive enough to have won the WEC last year.

Ken Block crashes

Nnnooooooo. Ken Block, crashing? :dopey:
Don't get me wrong, I love the guy's spirit... It's his rallying skills that concern me.

Anyways, you thought wall-riding was unrealistic? Think again.

Actually, the 695 Trofeos are quite prone to rolling.

And if anyone wants my summary of the crash, they can be found in the comments section of the video. Very unfortunate incident.

From FD Seattle....everything about this, from the emotional behaviour to the stupid commentary, is embarrassing

Once the lead car hits the wall and then drops two tires off course, the run is finished. The bumper cars which take place afterwards is extra. At this point, no action has been taken against either driver. Gotta love WWFD

Man, that commentary is priceless (and tragic at the same time);

(both cars crash) "Seattle MAKE SOME NOIZE!!!"

But seriously, no action has been taken against either JTP and/or Tyler? That's some lax regulations they got going on in the USA branch of Formula D...

Just to add to the hilarity, FD has now posted a video of the crash on their official Facebook Page, where it recieved something like 200k likes and 1k shares....so, seems doubtful they will take a stand against it. Rather, they flaunt and encourage it

Also, Joey Redmond of Wrecked Magazine has gone on record saying "“I just wish we had more riveting moments of pure and raw emotion on display like this in the sport. If something like this happened every race, the viewership would be 100x.”

I'm a big fan of drifting. I would love to see a global, top level competition. FD is not it :(. From my point of view, 2015 has been a very rough year for FD, and this is the final straw for me, I'm out. 🤬 clowns!!

So let me get this straight; from what Mr. Redmond is saying, in order to draw audiences, this sort of behaviour should be ENCOURAGED!? I don't really think that such a mind-boggling idea would be the right to display "pure and raw emotion" (in his "wise" words). When I watched the Motors TV broacast of D1GP, I didn't see Daigo Saito crash into Manabu Orido on purpose and then pick a fight with him, or any sort of ridiculous situations like the one between Tyler/JTP.

Basically, what I am implying is that mindless crashing isn't the way of displaying emotion and/or competitive racing. Sorry if I'm sounding sterotypical in this train of thought, but expecting violent driving to be the audience draw is quite an American way of thinking. It simply should not, I repeat again, should not be encouraged.

And I guess that such an accident was indeed the straw that broke your back, and I can't really blame you. Either FD sort themselves out, or it'll fall even deeper into disregard...

To be honest, I don't think it's as bad as it seems. The entire Seattle complex is notorious for contact like that - Justin went in slightly too deep, Tyler ran so high that he scrubbed off way too much speed to line up his next initiation as comfortably as possible. Pawlak had the line, Tyler then had no choice but to keep pushing and finish off the run - the awkward angle then meant they were going to make contact anyway, happens quite a lot. The forced wide line then meant both were heading into the final turn too tight - McQuarrie saw his chance to retake the lead and possibly score well with a big angle, so he initiated flat-out and it may have worked - unfortunately, JTP didn't have enough time or space to do anything, so he was heading towards McQuarrie no matter what. The entire run was going wrong from start to finish - I didn't see any deliberate dumping or anything that was completely avoidable. Once you go off line in Seattle, it's almost impossible to get back on - most cars either take the wall or just spin. One mistake led to a messy chain reaction. FD is stronger than ever this year, but it's not been as competitive as some would've hoped. I think that was just a case of the commentators trying to stir up some controversy out of an accidental mess.

Completely disagree.

The initial contact is legit. It happens in racing / drifting.

The problem is afterwards. Once TMQ drops two tires, as the lead driver, the run is FINISHED! At that point, both drivers should shut down. There is no "retake the lead" etc etc. The run is 100% terminated.

The subsequent game of bumper cars is completely extra curricular. It's the exact same as two drivers going at it after the checkered flag has been waved.

The contact is minor, I'll admit. No one got hurt, JTP continued - so it's mostly water under the bridge, this time.

My main beef is with FD failing to repremand the drivers and encouraging this type of driving. Everything turned out ok this time, but it might not next time.

If you were a privateer driver, how would you feel if a competator hit you on purpose, outside of competition no less. Personally, I would be furious.

What if TMQ and JTP went wheel to wheel, and the steering wheel broke JTP's thumb or wrist?

If contact happens during a run, it's unfortunate, but it's part of the sport. Bumper cars after the run is finished has no place in any professional arena

Edit: just to respond to where you said "I didn't see any deliberate bumping"...

TMQ going into JTP's door around inner clip 2 was 100% intentional. Clear as day. JTP retaliating and PIT maneuvering TMQ was 100% intentional. And again, this took place after the run had technically finished.

We probably won't get to see in car footage due to how bad it would make the drivers look (especially Tyler, sponsored by Go Pro...his car is covered in cameras)

Drifting isn't a contact sport. And those commentators need shoving out the door.

Huge crash at Curitiba in the Stock Car Brasil race today, I read that 2 drivers have minor injuries (I'm not sure what exactly that means since I know no Portuguese).

Meanwhile in Austria the likeable head of Audi Motorsport Dr Ulrich has possibly destroyed his reputation with a team radio message - which may or may not have been sent to Timo Scheider - to push Mercedes' drivers off the track.

The message was given, it's just a question of who sent it - both of his interviews have contained conflicting stories. I don't really care who sent it, all that's clear is a fairly high ranking Audi team member gave the instruction. It's unacceptable under any circumstances.

In other Spielberg news:

I think they accepted it was Ulrich who sent the message, he has to admit to it if it's his voice on tape! The main point now is whether it went to the driver or not, the team and Scheider said it didn't.
