MSN 1.5hr Manufacturer's Endurance Race Series

Firstly I should be able to make the race on the 7th, although late for me these races fit perfectly. With a family sometimes it’s difficult to fit racing in so these are great for me and really enjoyable.

Secondly it’s a shame alpha can’t make it, good racing with him in the first race and has great pace so disappointing he can’t make it.

Onto the main question..... the Atenza. I’ve driven this car a lot and I’m very comfortable in it. I’m torn in some respects. I like the concept of keeping your car all the way through as it kinda gives it some ownership which to a certain extent this game lacks sometimes, much like @Rinsky has with his cayman I think. But I almost feel I have an unfair advantage because I’m too comfortable with it, I think someone else would benefit from using this car, I’ve won twice and a third with this car and this league is about fun not results, if I can help someone have more fun and be more competitive I think I’m happy to give it up. The closer we all get the better races we will have!

Now in regards to what car I would replace it with, this is tricky. I’m not an alien by any stretch, I run reasonable pace I think but I don’t get to race too often. I really want to use the Mégane trophy, I use only cockpit view and it’s easily one of the best in the game in this respect. But equally @fastone371 wants to use this too, I want to help everyone but if he’s happy to keep the Citroen then I will take the Mégane trophy please. I think it will get nerfed a tad before the next update!

Lastly if I can help anyone out I’m happy to, as said I’m not an alien by any means, think I can do a decent lap time generally though. If anyone wants to do practice lobby’s might be able to help with lines braking points etc.

Venster and my fast laps on RHs were in the 2:28s on Saturday, my record on my profile is 28.583 but I’ve probably only raced the Mazda there in Sport Mode, so it’s not really accurate. I imagine the aliens would be in the high 2:25s probably.

Theoretically they’re all mostly equal but it just depends on your driving style. There’s not one fast car like there was during the Age of Megane, there’s probably 3 tiers of cars now and even they aren’t super far apart.

I went back and watch the race replay yesterday just to check things out. While the fast laps were in the 2:28 normal race pace from almost everyone settled in around 2:30 to 2:33 on RH a lap depending on tire wear. So everyone was running really close lap times on laps without mistakes.

While Infineon will be choosing the next track and @fastone371 you will get to know that location you can always pick a random track or one we have already run on to do some practice on with Venster.

I like keeping the same car because Im really getting to know my Porsche now. I did some testing on the new Megane some more today and while it runs about the same speed as my Porsche the Megane can out brake my car by almost a car and half length in every corner. That's where it is really going to be a weapon.

It seems to be a tad short on straight line speed though. I had a Gr 4 Hurican catching me on the straights at Nurb 24H track this morning

It is short of straight line speed, but to get this up you need to use its ability to get a good run out of a corner. Need to get on the power very early in the corners.

I'll take the Mazda Atenza. My Ferrari Italia is now available.

Key to these races is consistency, keeping mistakes to a minimum. Not pushing every lap and keeping it on track gains you loads more than trying to set best laps each lap

It's absolutely something we can play around with on on certain tracks.

Now for our race at the Nurburgring 24 I wasn't planning on holding a qualifying session for that event. Your starting position will be based on your finishing position from the previous race. Instead of running an hour of qualifying I thought maybe we would make it a 2hr race instead. But I don't know 1.5hr is long already for most.

Also it will be the only race where fuel and tire wear will both be reduced. Been working on that to find a good settling for us. x4 tire x3 fuel is it and the Time of day is 20:30 with fog

No it's the time right before the night. This track is hard enough so I thought about a night race but decided against that.

Give the faster guys a challenge to see if they can make up some places, run completely different strategy to a leading strategy and some good battles along the way for everyone. Gives the other guys chance to run different strategies too and feel the pressure perhaps of leading the race.

Im so glad you guys love racing together with us because Iv finished in every race last but Im still having a blast racing against yall. Iv learned alot just from getting lapped then trying to stay on yall's butts, learning/trying your racelines ect. Also watching the race replays repeatedly to race better. So I want to thank you guys for sharing tips.

Very true. I know the pit strategies are different starting up front from mine starting in the rear.
Because I run the lobby I will always put myself in the very last spot. I never know if or when I will need to jump out.

As for the reverse grid idea. I vote no. Having the slower drivers start at front of the race could lead to people getting run over and cause crashes at the start. Remember Heavy Damage.

I'm not taking away practice because all the information for that race is already up right now. Everyone has 5 months to practice for it.

We will give the reverse grid at least a try once on a track with wide lanes. Up to this point everyone has raced exceptionally clean. Now there are always a few bumps and taps from time to time but nobody is deliberately racing dirty. I think we will be ok but If the beginning of the race turns into a **** storm then we will just restart it and I will set the grid back to fastest first. No harm no foul.

A 2 hour race starting at 8pm would end around 10pm. Unless you all go to bed at 10pm on a Saturday I don't see a need to start early. Plus I doubt everyone is going to start practicing now for a race that won't take place for 5 months.

Correct there is no need to start early because Im at work until 5:30 then I have a 45 minute drive home.
Now that I don't have the next track location to practice on I'm taking that time to hit the ring.
