Milefile, First off, everything you said about the Mustang is either 100% wrong...or 100% opinionated
The GT isnt supposed to be a huge jump from the regular version, that is why it's not much more expensive, now adays the GT just let's you know its a V8
I disagree. GT has a meaning all it's own. It signifies something that Mustang GT is not.
The Cobra is just a muscle car? Then explain to me how come the Cobra pulled better lap times than the corvette on the Shootout between the Corvette the Viper and the Mustang?
I can't. I read a review of the three cars that placed the Mustang last. I can't remember where. If you can direct me to your source, I'll read it and maybe change my mind. Until then, the Cobra is a muscle car in my mind (a muscle car with the interior of a Ford Explorer no less).
Muscle cars are supposed to be 4 seater practical cars that can be made to be fast. The mustang is already fast, and not nearly as practical as other cars, considering it has no radio and no A/C.
No they're not. Muscle cars are fast off the lot. Z28. Cobra. SS Chevelle. Mach 1. Trans Am. Road Runner. I could go on. Nothing needed to be done to make any of those cars fast. This isn't to say thye could be made
faster. But that is a different thing entirely.
I won't dissagree that Corvettes are world class sports cars, but tell me before their newer chassis design how were they competing on a WORLD level
They weren't. I never said they were. They used to be two seater muscle cars, basically. So what? They aren't now.
Hell, the Corvette's wouldn't be winning le manz if they didn't spend rediculous ammounts of $$ on the cars.....
And other manufacturers don't? I don't see your point.
Remember when the vipers used to mop the floors with everyone? They don't because they don't feel the need to go through the $ the C5-R teams have gone through.....
It's Chrysler's loss. Resting on their laurels.
And youre telling me Ferrari's arn't world class sports cars?
No. I don't see how you inferred that. They're great, if you're a millionaire. You see, non-millionaires also like motorsports and hope to own a great car someday.
Someone tell me what is with this blatent Ferrari "Car racism" as you so put it, on this forum?
Car racism, which was just a way to point out stupid comments like: "Corvettes are over rated. And besides, everyone knows that any modern Corvette owner is trying to compensate for lack of man parts", is only a comparative tool for identifying ignorant biases.
The maranello? I remember it's first race FIRST RACE in le manz, was spanking the hell out of the vettes and everyone else....But a rock ruptured a fuel line and set the engine aflame.....And it was I believe almost 20 hours into the race..
What about the other times? Is it wrong for Corvette to celebrate their success? You act like they don't deserve it. Why?
Go ahead and hate on Ferrari simply because it's a car you need $ for......
I don't hate Ferarris. See above. And it's not a car you need $ for. It's a car you need $$$$$$$$$ for.
And 52,000 dollars for a Corvette that can keep pace with a 35,000 dollar stang with 500 dollars in modifications.......mmmhmmm....
You cannot get a Cobra for $35,000.00. Period. And if I'm paying anywhere near that much I want the designers to at least have given me a modicum of perks inside the car. The lack of this is one of the things that makes it an over priced muscle car.
Anything else?
