What did you look at 2 video's and see no stang. The Cobra R cost the same amount as the z06 in 2000, and the Cobra R was a better road car/track car..

And as for that ic he posted...I'd personally trust FORD before I trusted Yahooauto's....I think the person who makes/sells the cars knows a little more than a search engine.

In the game, Id rather have the Z06. IRL...id still probably pick the Z06, despite the awesomeness of the Cobra R (since that is indeed what we are dealing with, and not the normal 03 cobra). The vette has a tad more practicality, and isnt a full blown race car like the R. The vette gets better MPG, and is better looking IMO. For exclusitivity and track however, the Cobra R would win by a landslide...since that is indeed what the Cobra R was made for. To take to the track (race track, not the 1/4 mile crap).

No! It's not about the taste - that's in the eye of the beholder. I don't mind the stock Skyline wings or the Mustang wing, myself. Well Monster remember, in 2000 the last year of the Cobra R....300 were made...making it a rare car....How many rare cars are stripped out and gutted, covered with sponsor logo's and put on a race track? not many.......The Cobra has been out for a year and a half....Its already made itself the first 35,000 dollar car that can run high 12's.....Give it some time....The z06 has been out for what 7 years? yeah....from 97 to 2003....7 years.....The cobra has been out for one and a half and the cobra R hasn't been made in 3 years....slap yourself.....Motor trend themselves said the Cobra R was a better track car, and since this is a GT forum it should be a comparison about racing standards....not Practicality...Magazines give false info more than often, and magazine reviews are nothing but a guy with a reputation typing out something he thinks people will want to read.

Actually if you can get a 'stang that gots a 3 wide spoke rims instead of the 5 spoke(as in the pic) it looks so much better.

I do not like the stock Skyline wings, and I can't stand the big universal wings that all the ricers use. I hope you are not implying that I enjoy such ridiculous styling. I prefer much cleaner styling, understated if you will. Don't tell me you actually think the Cobras wing is the height of styling. Oh, and it's just an opinion, you don't have to jump all over me and start counting me amongst the ignorant and the otaku.

The point of the wing is not for looks. It is to push down on the car so it can go faster around corners and stuff.
The point of a spoiler is for looks. Has little or no effect on the car making it just totally useless(except for a handle for the trunk)

Remember when the vipers used to mop the floors with everyone? They don't because they don't feel the need to go through the $ the C5-R teams have gone through.....

I think that extra moneys that corvette has is because they aren't paying $300,000 for a car where they put that money into the car.

I like the Mustang Cobra R in GT3, haven't spent as much time with the Vettes, except I have a good deal of races with the Z06 in Arcade mode, and the Grand Sport in a few races.

But I found the Z06 eats tires quicker than the Cobra R, so I stick to the Ford.

Yes. They know they have to get you into the dealer, who ultimately sets the price. Ford has less to do with how much a Ford actually costs at a dealer than you apparently think.

First off, three spoke rims? Are you serious? I guess I shouldn't jump down your throat over a difference of opinion of style, but three spoke rims are not my personal style.

Thanks I know what a wing is for. To make a wing functional is indeed the first priority, but to make it pleasing to the eyes is very important on such an expensive car. It is not very difficult to make a spoiler that is both functional and beautiful, but Ford only finished half this task.

So does this mean that Pontiac Fiero's are great car's also?

Bottom line, what car has PROVEN itself in COMPETITION. You can talk all day about what the Cobra could do, but the C5 has already proven what it can do.

And the debate over the cost of each vehicle is a dead end. You can pick up a used '01 Z06 for around 35k. The cheapest Cobra R I've seen, went for 45k.

Your statement may, or may not be true, for North American Fords, but it is most certainly NOT true for European Fords - which are now THE most reliable cars in Europe (yes, better than Subaru, Mazda, Mercedes, BMW, Honda). This thread is about the MUSTANG and CORVETTE. Not about the Corvette's "other competators". And I've yet to meet one person who bought a Z06 to stand out. The point of the car is that it DOESN'T stand out.

Drifster, you want exclusivity? Get a Vette imported over here...I've seen a few Stangs around but have YET to see a Corvette in the flesh on the road. Practically any car can be exclusive, depending on where you are. Also, exclusivity doesn't mean a car is good either.
