What are your opinions on the games and which do you feel will be more appealing to you and so forth. Discuss!? :D

Counter Strike 1.6, at this rate. After the complete pile of crap Black Ops was, and never liking the pace on BF games, answer is easy for me.

Battlefield 3 > Modern Warfare 3

Activision and IW will keep relaunching MW2 with different names and weapons until people stops buying this crap.

That's funny you say that because - to this point - IW hasn't released anything since MW2. Have you played MW3 already? How can you know about this future trend?

This has been a successful formula for Madden, many racing games and other game types. You are not a fan of success?

They cater to the fan base and that's where the money is, people will keep buying them like people keep buying Madden games.

CS IS and always WILL be the best FPS IMO. The two games i am comparing are not even the same league of CS lol

So I'm not that familiar with the Bad Company series, but can you actually compare both games? It seems BC has alot of different things than MW.

Again the only game I have is MW2 so don't make me an expert in these things :)

As much as people do, it's hard. Even after having both it's hard to come up with unbiased comparisons.

Well I'm still waiting to pre order anything since there is very little news I've heard about both games (especially MW3).
Can't really argue about a game people know so little about, or have played yet.

Yeah, but at least they try to improve the game every year. The devs from the CoDs series are literally copying and pasting the same game every year.

And this is what, CoD # 8 or 9 or something? In time Battlefield will become the same.

Also, I don't understand the whole comparison between the two games. The only thing they have in common is they're both FPS with online components. The CoD franchise (multiplayer) is a pick up and play title based around person to person combat where a Lone Wolf can succeed as can teamwork. Battlefield is more team and strategy based with larger maps and vehicles. This does not make one better or worse than the other as they cater to different types of people. Some people simply want a game they can throw in and join a match and not have to worry if their friends are on, or their clan, or if they get a good group of anonymous people. CoD doesn't automatically suck just because you don't care for the play style or how the franchise is run. If it does, then I can conclude BF3 will suck because huge maps and vehicles ruin the experience because it's not my style.

Actually, I forgot a detail. They copy and paste the same crappy game every year. MW2 is just awful.

Proof? Call of Duty 4 and MW2 are not even close to a copy of each other. Bring a real argument to the discussion or get out. If you don't like MW2 - that's fine. You don't need to. But to sit and senselessly hate on the franchise is unnecessary.

Honestly, if you dislike the game so much, why are you even posting in this thread to begin with?

battlefield all the way.

I also played COD but I need to destroy building and covers. No campers 👍

Please do not take it upon yourself to tell members which threads they can and can't participate in, the only people here who can do that are the staff.

As long as a post meets the AUP (and his does) then he free to contribute.

Asking for a justification to the point is fine, but telling others to leave brings the wrong kind of attention to yourself.

Scaff

One could argue ivoyared is posting false information :P But that is me just being overly technical.

MW2 uses a different engine from the WaW and Black Ops games, which is very clear if you've played any of the games.

Let's just put it this way... I watched all the Battlefield 3 videos and will be preordering it. Modern Warfare 3? It's MW2 with new guns and missions. I'll buy it a year later for $10 used

They are two very different games. Which attracts two different groups of people apart form the obvious ones who like both.

MW series, cool singleplayer, deathmatch game.
BF series, cool singleplayer, open war where it´s expected of you to work in packs to win the rounds. Running around like a headless chicken does not work in BF.

:)

Knife fight in a phone booth or flying an Apache in your living room is a good way to describe multiplayer in MW series ;)

Neither game is out yet so I will hold judgement. But in the previous generation I prefered Battlefield, I suspect it will be the same this time around.

Where did I said CoD 4?

Seems like ivoyared is completely clueless about the Infinity Ward, or Modern Warfare 2. Just like how I don't know anything about the Battlefield series.

Infinity Ward created CoD4(the original MW) & MW2, which are not remotely close to a copy of one another. Just from what are available to the players, from something tiny like player selected titles & emblems to custom kill streak rewards, much have changed. Unless you were expecting space aliens or killer clowns or something in the new Modern Warfare, believe me there were changes.

Another thing that ivo is completely unaware(or at least acting like it) is that new Infinity Ward, to the most, are in name only. The studio pretty much broke up, and half the people starting from the very top are no longer with IW or the MW project. I forget the name, but Activision(the publisher of MW Series) had to bring in another studio to help make MW3, so there. If anything, MW3 could potentially be the first "copy & paste" of its predecessor.

As for the MW3 vs BF3, I still don't know. I'm a huge fan of Modern Warfare series, but as I said, the publisher of the series is no longer around. Just in name only. I can go either way, maybe something else.

Questions:

  • How many people still play Counter Strike? How large are their player base?
  • Do any of the Battlefield games on PSN get hacked?
  • Will the new Battlefield game have additional cost, similar to MW's CoD Elite, map packs, etc.?

WHERE THE 🤬 DID I SAY CoD 4???:grumpy: I said that they are relaunching MW2 with another name EVERY 🤬 YEAR and I don't expect this is going to be any different in MW3 and future CoD games.

As for the questions:

1 - A lot.
2 - Nope.
3 - Nope.
