I think the rider is a ****ing moron for not wearing any protective gear...especially a helmet.
 
Exactly what I was thinking, especially at those speeds.

What I don't get is how he can see where he is going. I used to ride trials bikes and scramblers across fields when i was younger with no protective gear. Even at 30-40mph, my eyes watered so much from the wind, it was almost impossible to see.

normally he rides with a helmet, jacket, gloves and whatnot. He prolly just took it out somehwere real quick to the store or something and ended up racing. Ive never seen him ride without his helmet and stuff tho. Plus the vid is like a year old and hes been riding all of his life. IBeveryonesaysskilldoesntmatterwhenitcomestosafety

That is a bit confusing. They didnt stage it very well. I get it though. The bike and the chase car speed up from a cruise to about 80, and when the talon blows by is when the race actualy begins. I guess he was giving him a head start? Either way that bike took off like a rocket! To pull up the front tire from a 90 mph roll! Thats amazing. And yes, as others have been saying, to even go riding on the highway without a helmet, let alone racing, your friend is an idiot.

The talon did have a head start so that is a super fast bike. 👍
I don't see the big fuss about no helmet, at those speeds your pretty much dead anyway. Or you would atleast want to be.

Not really no... At sub 250, surviving a bike crash is far from rare.. The problem is that all sorts of stuff like armco and trees and cars getting in the way.. The crash is the least of the problems when done on the road...

Not wearing any safety gear on the other hand.... Oh well.. As long as I don't have to pay his hospital bill....
 
your theory is correct if they wrecked on a open highway. When you wreck a bike the initial wreck isntwhat kills most, its that they get hit by a car, hit a car, or hit an object. That race was on a 3 lane bridge if he would have wrecked it would be a 50% chance that the DSM would have hit him and killed him. the other 50 percent would be him getting hit by another car, having a fatal contact with the guardrail, or going off the bridge into the water. there is maybe a 3% chance he would survive if he had wrecked with saftey gear. He does pretty much have no fear. Its a heavily modded 1 litre bike that made 150RWHP and also has nitrous. On the nitrous it made 181RWHP. so you have a bike with 180WHP. The bike also will life the front tire like it did on the motor. It will wheelstand in every gear on the nitrous even if you do it lightly. It takes skill, and he has it.

Seems if you post anything on an auto forum all ppl do is bash because they think its the cool thing to do. i have more vids of the bike and some car racing that happened that night but if i post it then ppl will just call them morons and post negative replies.

He IS a moron.. I've lost more friends WEARING riding gear than I care to think of due to motorcycling - yet I still ride today, though track mostly...

And I reserve my GOD GIVEN right to call someone a moron - if he acts like one.. And going THAT fast, wearing no safety gear, it doesn't matter if he hits a tree or a car or the armco - At that speed, all I can say is that I feel sorry for the guy who has to hose your friend off the highway - cause it won't be pretty....

Are you suggesting that you are IN FAVOR of not wearing safety gear? I honestly cannot believe that you are defending the negligence put on display, both towards the rider's safety and towards the safety of the other motorists. You actually call yourself a friend when you blatantly disregard his safety and the possibility of preventing serious injury or death?

Dude my dad( 36 years old ) has a GSXR 1000 but he never does stupid **** like that and always wares a helmet. That bike is extremly fast and pretty much race ready if you wanted to take it on a track.
 
I'm not wishing your friend to have an accident or anything, but IF something happens and no helmet... SPLAT on the head!
