I pre-ordered the Signature Edition from GAME the day it was announced. I would be more than a little pee'd off if I found out people we're walking into stores and buying it early while I am still waiting for mine to come in the post...:grumpy:

It's saying something about payment authorised but the card not being charged until Dispatch at the moment though

Sometimes it's who you have connections with. It's not completely fair, but then again, life isn't fair.
 
To all those guys talking bout royal mail in the uk. As far as I know they only work on a Saturday morning at the weekend. So I recon you might have a slim chance of getting it Tomorrow morning.
Let us know if you get lucky... If you can drag yourself away for 2 secs to post on here.
Good luck on the delivery guys. Hopefully we get it sometime between 22-24th. Otherwise I might have to end up owning it twice!

No angle I just took a picture in front of him while he was scanning. He was on the phone talking with a customer while trying to check me out.

He had no idea what Gran Turismo even was when I asked him for it.

Crazy. My cousin works at Target and he made it sound like they were locked up. I just didn't know that an employee would have such easy access to one.
 
i have a very good feeling that people who have preordered from Shopto.net will start getting their games on Monday ;)
 
I got my confirmation that my CE has been posted from PLAY.com late last night,so at least the courier will have by Monday
 
Hi, ordered plenty off Play, RM from Jersey not the fastest to Yorkshire UK. If i order say Mon, with luck, generally, hoping to get Fri or Sat (thats all working days, no weekend break), anything before a bonus. Other peeps further south or whatever, seem to get quicker delivery thou, by a day or two etc. My CE posted(well emailed as dispatched, if thats same) yesterday(Fri), if so, touch wood, hoping to get it Tue or Wen.
Shopto.net i normally get next day or day after, if i receive email its been dispatched. Send RM, but Shopto or there Warehouse etc, must be UK mainland based.
Amazon, anybodys guess if free delivery chosen :) ( seem to have got better thou) . Amazon prime, lots of time next day.

Im old enough to remember when you used to recieve 2 deliveries every morning, around 6.30am & 11am. Now we only recieve one delivery and im lucky to get my post before 1pm. Funny though that on Saturdays my postman arrives at 9am. Pretty obvious they deliver earlier because its the weekend which proves it can be done.

The postal workers blame the management. I don't know who is to blame but the state of our postal service is crap. I remember watching an episode of Top Gear when they raced against Royal Mail. In the space of 24hrs a package was sent from the SW England and arrived in the Shetland isles the following morning. I remember thinking what a joke, because this doesn't happen with my mail.

If Royal mail collect the GT5 copies today then technically they should arrive on Monday. I seem to remember FM3 being sent a day early due to the postal strikes and some recieved their copies on the Wed instead Thursday.

Personally I reckon those who ordered from Shop to have a greater chance of recieving their copies on monday than those who ordered from play.com. Simply because Shop to is based in England and of course play.com is in Jersey. Lets hope they haven't instructed Royal Mail to delay delivery until Tues/Wed.

At 8.22 this morning (Saturday 20th) Shopto charged my account for GT5 and sent an email - I guess this is in line with what they said yesterday about getting their stock in today (Saturday) and working over the weekend.

So the question now is whether they'll physically give it to RM today. If they do then Monday is almost certain for delivery. If they wait until Sunday (RM collect on Sundays but do not deliver) then Monday is still possible but may be Tuesday....

Don't want to think about whether ShopTo might wait until Monday for RM collection :)

Play.com are a bunch of useless no hopers. I swore I would never use them again over a year a go but had no choice when I wanted the Assasins Creed: Brotherhood Codex Edition. It was despatched on Tuesday and I still haven't go it. Not even expecting it tomorrow if I'm honest 👎

Play.com are showing game IN STOCK ready to order, will they hold release so you get it 24th too??

Yeah I don't recommend Play, Zavvi or The Hut if you want things at or soon after release.

That's why I use ShopTo now mainly although I'm trying Amazon's guaranteed release day delivery for the CE edition but you pay a bit extra for that of course.

Anyway, looking for ward to Monday/Tuesday...

When KZ2 came out my cousin and I ordered from shopto and play. I got mine a day early (play) he got his on release day (shopto). I have stuck with play for this one. Would love it early, but it must be here by Wednesday haha!
 
Morning all.

My order was despatched yesterday from Play so hpoefully i'll arrive on tuesday (fingers crossed).

Just a word of warning (a bit late I know). Anyone who paid extra fror express delivery/ next day etc won't get their game until release day, irrespective of when you ordered it. This is because these orders are sent via a courier rather royal mail 1st class and the couriers are now under strict instructions not to deliver/release these parcels until the official release day, even if this means your game is sitting in their depot for 2 or 3 days. You are only paying the extra money to guarentee the game arrives on release day not earlier.

In a nut shell, if you pre-ordered a week ago or more with Play.com, HMV, GAME, Shopto etc and just took the standard delivery option then you have a good chance of recieving the game monday or tuesday.

I did try and phone Shop to because I wanted to know if they are telling RM to delay delivery until Tues/Wed. Unfortunately the line is only open Mon-Fri.

I do have a question though. Mine is being sent 1st class recorded delivery. Now does this mean the postman delivers or a Royal Mail van as I obviously have to sign for it?
 
Well yesterday play.com sent my PS3+GT5 bundle, by Home Delivery Network, I suspect it will show up on tuesday or wednesday. Which is cool :)

For me not only am i joining the GT5 community i'm joining the PS3 community too. Being a Xbox / PC user it will be interesting the next couple of weeks.
 
Mine has not arrived today, which is obvious really since they only posted it last night/ this morning. Just thought id let the play crew know mine hasn't arrived :)

Envelope Size - So Standard GT5 and CE will Normally be Delivered By your Normal Postie (is there such a thing a Normal Postie ? :dunce:)

SE Edition will Turn up in a Van Either Normal Roundsman 👍 With a Van or ParcelFarce :yuck:

Make Sure someone is Home Recorded needs Signing for , if your not there you'll get the Dreaded RED CARD :sick: then its off to the Depot allowing a Few Hours for the Parcel to be dropped back there by the Postie

Depot Hours Vary aswell and just finding the Depot is fun it itself 👎
 
If I get mine early I will record any suggestion is HD 720p full screen. Maybe a better unboxing of the signature edition...

First class delivery usually means that they will just drop it through your letterbox via the postman's hand.

If you put down recorded delivery, then most likely coming via the van.

I always just do first class delivery, so much easier when the postman just drops it through your letter box, and when you come home from work/uni, you have a little bundle of un-opened joy waiting for you to hold and take care of :)

I also got my order reciept from ShopTo earlier today.

I couldn't risk normal delivery due to the shocking state of my post. I figured recorded delivery would be less likely to go missing!

Wow, normal first class delivery has always been great for me from ShopTo. Always get it a day (or two) early as well.

F1 2010 got 2 days early

got Black Ops 1 day early

Heres hoping for GT5 at least a day early too :)
 
Ive ordered mine from Shopto and my accounts been charged,but from past orders i usually get a text/email confirming my order is on its way then receive it the following day......no text yet tho!!.

Im expecting the game for probably a Tuesday delivery :-)

Is there a difference between First Class and Royal Mail? My previous orders from ShopTo are with Royal Mail, and my recent one and GT5 pre-order are First Class. I always order without insurance, never had a problem. But I noticed it's not called Royal Mail anymore, but First Class now.

First Class is Royal Mail, there are different tiers of first class mind such as first class recorded etc etc...
