To summarise, if i get my SE edition on:

Monday - I'll likely cream myself

Tuesday - I'll be incredibly happy

Wednesday - I'll be satisfied

Thursday - disapointed

Friday - Angry

Anything after that you'll be able to reach me at rehab department of the local psychiatric ward.

 I feel the same way - I am resigned to it coming on Wednesday - any wait after that will lead to increasing anger and frustration which will only be relieved when the game arrives - then i'll have to install the thing....

So you got a confirmation email? Any chance of a screenshot or C&P?
Andy

My order section on the site says "First class completed"

I don't care if know one believes it's been posted, hell it might not have been, but if I have the game on monday add me on my PSN, and you'll see for yourself.

Just checked my email with the title shopTo.Net - Your Order Receipt

The contents reads "Thank you for shopping with us. This email is your order receipt and contains information about your order. Please keep this email safe until your order arrives"

Yeah... that's not the dispatch email. You'll get another one on Monday.

Why does the site say 1st class completed?

Because the transaction has been completed and they've stuck a 1st class sticker on it.

When they give it to Royal Mail you'll get an email saying:

SHOPTO DELIVERY NOTICE

Your Order has been dispatched!

ShopTo Delivery Number SDN990619

Dear XXXXXXXX,

We are pleased to inform you that your order has been dispatched today by ROYAL MAIL.

It says that for everyone. It just means their part of the system is done. It'll get loaded in to a Royal Mail van tomorrow and that's when you get the "It's been shipped" e-mail.

Well, seems about right, but then again it's hardly surprising I made the mistake of thinking it had been posted.

so i finally got a response today from a shopto moderator

I spoke to the boss about your order and he informs me :-

You DID NOT prepay for your preorder. The office staff tried to process your preorder with the card details held but could NOT process your prorder as the card would not authorise.Whether this was due to expired card, insufficient funds or whatever, you would need to check with your card provider.

As the item is now shown as in stock, you can place a new preorder, which will be processed on Monday.

To which i replied i have a customer and payment id right here,
he replied.

You can either raise a support "ticket" via the contact centre option in your account, or phone the office staff on Monday morning when they return to work.

Well **** you very much shopto.

Just want to say midian is right.

Checked my order and I even have a tracking number. However this means my package is sat their with the sticker attached to my parcel awaiting collection by RM.

Like Midian says we shall recieve another email saying its been dispatched and if you have given Shop to your mobile no. you will also recieve a text message.

Im hoping they collect tomorrow but I do feel its more likely that we shall recieve GT5 on Tues. If we recieve the email/text message tomorrow then there is a chance we might recieve it on Monday.

A question for you guys. I see here and on other game sites that those from the UK seem to largely lean toward ordering from online. Why is that? Are brick & mortar stores not common or is online significantly cheaper or even both? Or am I just lost in the stone age? Just curious..

Sorry if this has been asked before but since I am in the states could I order a signature edition from somewhere like game.co.uk and have them ship it to me? I am on their site now at the confirm order and have seen nothing that says I can't but I don't want to take a $210.00 mistake lol.

Oh and awesome site guys I have been browsing it for a little while now.

Anyone have an answer to this?

Several reasons. First of all in the UK, you generally don't have to pay to pre-order a game, neither in stores or online, not even a deposit. Secondly as the UK is a smaller country, our mail service is slightly more reliable and we all stand a very good chance of having the game on our doorstep on the morning of release, the lucky ones may even get theirs delivered before stores open. Saves the trip to the shop, spending money on petrol, a bus ticket etc...

...and yeah, it's nearly always cheaper to order online now. GT5 in stores will likely have a price tag of around £45.00, and I got mine for £34.85 online.

Edit: Yeah and as Turner said, certain websites also deliver games a day early :)

Well Ahjumbie - I generally order games online because its more convenient than going to a shop - and you can usually find games cheaper online too. You won't find Gran Turismo 5 for £34.85 in a shop... (although I'm sure someone will prove me wrong >.<)

Edit: Midian beat me to it.

Royal Mail do collect on sundays - from certain locations.

Shopping online is cheaper and easier. There is also the (slim) chance you may get the game a day or two early.

What gets me is those in America who visit the shop and pay off their preorder well in advance.

These shops are just earning interest on your money. It adds up to quite a lot.

Wow ..so there is a possibility of getting it early or at the very least a morning delivery and it's cheaper? That's nice . The last time I ordered something online the jerk just left it on my doorstep and drove off and I was home so I know he didn't even ring the doorbell..

Well... early for us is normally Thursday for most games. Of course you guys have already been playing since Tuesday so we're still behind regardless :(

Has anyone pre-ordered the CE from amazon UK? And if so, have you received an email yet?

I received my dispatch e-mail yesterday. Lucky I didn't see it till now as it gave estimated arrival as today!! No CE but I do have a tracking number telling me the game is somewhere in Kettering (For those who don't know England very well, it's somewhere that isn't my house).

So I'm hopeful for a Tuesday delivery.
And there'll be someone at home to sign for it!

What?! You shouldn't have to sign for the CE! I've not had to sign for similar, or larger parcels in the past. I.e. My DFGT from Amazon UK wasn't signed for.

I'm scared now..

It depends what postage you use ,you have to sign for everything if it's recorded delivery.

I have CE ordered from Amazon.co.uk and have only received the delivery estimate email. Shipping estimate is 22-23rd. I'm hoping I will get it on thursday with the free super saver delivery, or at least on friday.
I live in Finland btw. :)

Bought my copy in a shop in france today :D Install it and tried every mod, so far it's fun but I find some racetrack and cars a bit disapointing. Kart is fun, Nascar seems cool too, I tried a race on the Wangan by night with rain it's just so cool. What is a bit less cool is that you dont see other people light in the mirror. And there's my favorite car in the game so I'm happy, cruising to level 13 to buy it :D
