I complaining about Amazons service, something they have done is against their own policy for processing orders, they must investigate what went wrong, and for those who complain compensation is preferential to adverse sentiment about this issue and Amazon customer service. I am not complaining about getting GT5 on time rather than early but the errors in the system that have made the whole pre-order system unfair and pointless.

CE ordered from Amazon UK on Sept 1st, despatched this morning, money taken. Wallet's now lighter but so is my heart, can't believe the wait's nearly over.
BTW 45 going on 15, remember getting the first GT on PS and thinking 'How can they improve on this?':)

Release date is the 24th!

They dispatch games so that they "should" arrive by the release date. So of course they aren't going to dispatch Next Day deliveries on the same day they dispatch regular parcels, because they would be guaranteed to arrive before the release date, and they're not supposed to do that.

Pretty basic stuff really.

Try i have missed a pre-order on release day before and i wasnt happy all my friends were playing and i wasnt.

So i decided i'll chooose 1st class they cant go wrong with that then today my order had estimated delivery date of 25th (i dont ****ing think so)

So i changed to Expedited which will get here 24th
 
Amazon have breached their own rules on handling orders, when a Manager or Director hears of this do you think he will listen to people saying don't complain or moan? No, he will arrange for notices to be given to fire those responsible, jobs could be lost here. It's not a case of simple moaning about release dates. Something serious within the company has gone wrong.
 
You guys who ordered from shopto.net and are from england are damn lucky. I recieved that mail today too but i dont expect it to arrive sooner than Thursday
 
My gt5 CE has been dispatched from amazon and is due to arrive tommorow (23rd) :)

Taking it a bit far I'd say.

I chose the UPS pants-on-fire option because I can rely on them to deliver almost overnight (overseas), and mine still hasn't been dispatched. The estimate says it'll be dispatched tomorrow, which would mean I get it midday on the 24th.

Only makes sense that they would send off the 3-5 day delivery copies first, to make sure that most people get it on wednesday

Makes alot of sense. My one with Amazon is their absolutely next day, never fail, you're paying 50 quid to be part of this Prime thing. So fingers crossed eh? lol
 
Thinking about it, I think blaaah and barryl have every right to be pissed off about paying a premium to amazon to deliver on the day. (Like i did)

I think next time it will be play.com or shop.to.

I don't agree with you there. The 3-5 day super saver free delivery isn't supposed to be release day delivery. Amazon specifically say that to guarantee release date delivery you need to pay for 1st class. Therefore the 1st class deliveries should take priority and be sent out first. Super savers shouldn't be getting their's until Friday.

Even so, I don't think anyone's really in a position to complain until they haven't received it as paid for on the 24th - although I can quite understand their frustration etc.

Try paying for shipping to see a delivery estimate of the 25th of November (day after release) then be forced to pay more for Business post (1 working day)

And even after all that the people who have paid absolutely nothing for shipping some of them have their order now, and almost all have had dispatched email etc....

Edit just saw 6th September - and you live mainland UK? And got a delivery estimate 25th november?

Thats harsh - I ordered November, first class, and it estimates 24th November (mainland uk).

Play usually take 3 working days to deliver, ie order on Monday and get on Thursday.

Technically they don't have GT5 in stock as it's still a pre-order, I would be extremely surprised if they had already run out of stock before fulfilling their existing pre-orders so I wouldn't take this too literally.

I've paid the £2 extra first class delivery from them and I'm starting to get a bit twitchy too but they have until close of play tomorrow to hand it over to the courier/Royal Mail and still deliver it on Wednesday so they haven't failed just yet.

I do agree it is a little unfair that people who have paid extra for delivery aren't the first to have their game dispatched but it's best not to get too worked up just yet.
