I ordered mine from Play.com, has anyone who has ordered received it today? I finish work at 3:30 but I have a nearly 2 hour commute home, its gonna feel so long and to think that I fully expect no game to arrive makes it worse
I've just been home to check if my Play.com order has made it yet. I'm sure forces were conspiring against me, I had a police car behind me most of the way forcing me to keep to the limit and every (quite literally) set of lights went on red as I got to them... I finally made it, burst through the door... nothing there.

Got my confirmation email from play.com Friday. Nothing arrived in the post today

Those who ordered from Play and got confirmation of postage on Friday. Delivery states3-5 days, these aren't going to be here any earlier than tomorrow/Wednesday at the very earliest.
Im preparing myself for a Thursday delivery. Anything sooner than that - and I'll be a happy bunny.

AAAhh gutted, i feel your pain. Well im hoping mine comes tomorrow (1st Class Royal mail from Amazon) i have even booked the day off work on the back of this dispatch email, but then again knowing the royal mail i'll be lucky to get it this year! Heres hoping.

i was stalking the postman on his bike, but a couple of houses before mine he went down a sidestreet and didn't come back in the 10 mins i gave him.
obviously rogering some bored housewife when he should be delivering my GT5

i got my "your order has left the building" email from Gamestation yesterday - the tracking number for Parcel Farce just comes up as "express 24" though, no details about which depot its at. Should arrive tomorrow or Wednesday I hope - I've got Thursday off work to play it!

How are they getting worse? We're still all getting our games the day before release, that's just as good as ever. The only reason they process orders early is when they've got so many they want to make sure they can get them all sorted and dispatched on time. Doing it early is actually better than leaving it until the last minute, those guys went to work this weekend when they didn't have to, just to provide us with the best service possible.
We should all know by now, dispatch is Wednesday for a Friday release. Ignore any purchase confirmations and wait for a dispatch email to confirm. ShopTo is still the one website you can order a game at 5:29pm and get it the next day.

My preorder (SE) switched now from : not yet dispatched -> dispatching soon.
On the other side my CE from amazon uk is still not yet dispatched (but i don't care for that one in the moment because it's free delivery and takes up to 7 days)
Wooohoooo, wednesday latest, so good. I took off work wednesday after i get the game delivered to work place.

Because they're starting to take the money, but not then immediately fulfil the order. When I first started using shopto it wasn't like that. If they charged on say a Tuesday, the game was dispatched on the Tuesday (I remember trading in Operation Flashpoint at 9am on release day having played it for 2 days...bad purchase in retrospect).
So far this year, I seem to get charged on a Tuesday afternoon, but shipping occurs on Wednesday and in one case Thursday.
This time I got charged on Saturday morning but shipping hasn't happened until today.
So now I'm wondering how far this will go - play.com, game and other e-tailers do the same and personally I don't think it's right.
They should take the cash when they fulfil the order entirely - not before. This is done for every thing else I purchase online so why not entertainment software?
I understand GT5 has been a big pre-order hit for them, but if they cannot successfully charge and ship the product on the same day, then they should have made that clear to people who pre-ordered later.
