I have to agree - my copy has yet to be shipped despite me being apparently one of the first orders to be processed on Friday evening.

I've found one other user on here without a dispatch email from ShopTo... anyone else?

I never check my e-mail, I just log in on the website and check my-orders, it showed my order completed on Friday, presumably to be actually shipped Monday.. What does the website say?

Because they're starting to take the money, but not then immediately fulfil the order. When I first started using shopto it wasn't like that. If they charged on say a Tuesday, the game was dispatched on the Tuesday (I remember trading in Operation Flashpoint at 9am on release day having played it for 2 days...bad purchase in retrospect).

So far this year, I seem to get charged on a Tuesday afternoon, but shipping occurs on Wednesday and in one case Thursday.

This time I got charged on Saturday morning but shipping hasn't happened until today.

So now I'm wondering how far this will go - play.com, game and other e-tailers do the same and personally I don't think it's right.

They should take the cash when they fulfil the order entirely - not before. This is done for every thing else I purchase online so why not entertainment software?

I understand GT5 has been a big pre-order hit for them, but if they cannot successfully charge and ship the product on the same day, then they should have made that clear to people who pre-ordered later.

Sorry, but nothing in the purchase contract says that they must ship the order out the same day they take payment. If you are not happy with this arrangement, go and buy it from a store in person because that's the only way you are guaranteed the game at the point in which payment is taken.
 
Thanks to the member who quoted their actual Amazon order number, i have now referenced it in a complaint to Amazon suggesting they have messed up big time in their administration of this product.
I'm hoping for the game to arrive and then a full or partial refund of the game itself.

The site says what it has said since Saturday: "First Class, Completed". If it had been dispatched I assume it would have a tracking number like all my previous orders listed underneath.

Still silent over here in the US Amazon side. Have had my copy preordered since July. But the day is still young, only 10am.

Good luck finding one as cheap and reliable. On the whole, they process, take payment and dispatch on the same day... so you're talking purely about preorders. If they wanna give such great service with such a small number of staff, they need to get the payments moving in order to make sure everything is done in time.
 
Extremely not happy my order isnt even shipped yet and i'm paying for my delivery and others havent and have theirs in there hand.

Thanks man! Cheap is easy enough - there are a few which match or even undercut shopto a bit now.

As you say, for things other than pre-orders shopto are generally fast at getting the thing out the door - but if it's not a preorder, I can just visit a shop or even another e-tailer.

Now Amazon have their guaranteed release day delivery I might start looking at them more - they charged for and sent my CE edition today via HDNL for example.

So perhaps I'll be in possession of 2 copies tomorrow at this rate hehe.

That is very true, my main reason for using them is that shops close before ShopTo does, and I live in London... public transport adds another £4 onto the price of the game.

By the way, as long as the other site doesn't source from Jersey or something, ShopTo will do price matching.

I am not happy about the fact i have paid £7 just for shipping and guys who paid nothing for shipping at all has their copy already from the same retailer.

I complaining about Amazons service, something they have done is against their own policy for processing orders, they must investigate what went wrong, and for those who complain compensation is preferential to adverse sentiment about this issue and Amazon customer service. I am not complaining about getting GT5 on time rather than early but the errors in the system that have made the whole pre-order system unfair and pointless.

completely true. nobody should be complaining until 25th, and getting ready to complain on the 22nd for something on the 24th is.. a bit mental tbh

I upgraded to Expedited as 1st class can take 2 days and my order still hasnt shipped today so potentially you wouldnt have the game till the 25th - the day after release.

It actually said on my order Estimated shipping date 23rd and estimated delivery date 25th.

Its pathetic others are getting theirs on release date or earlier for free.

No. You're paying to get the game by the release date. The people who have it already are just lucky.

What did you think would happen?

Release date is the 24th!

They dispatch games so that they "should" arrive by the release date. So of course they aren't going to dispatch Next Day deliveries on the same day they dispatch regular parcels, because they would be guaranteed to arrive before the release date, and they're not supposed to do that.

Pretty basic stuff really.

"Here, have some free money!" lol
