Its bricked but retail outlets will replace it since they have no proof of how it stopped working, just dont tell Sony :). From my experiences downloading just for emulators isnt worth it. Too risky, I waited and now I can enjoy new games and GBA and SNES on the go. My PSP is almost 2 years old.

I wish Sony would upgrade or release a new PSP.
 
Yeah, i hope my new one has 1.5 and i'm never trying that again, it was stupid not to realise that i had that ic1003 before downgrading.

LaBounti what Firmware do you have?
 
2.80. sticking to it until 3.00 is hacked so i can play PSOne games. Only way to get a 1.5 is used. sony ships systems with 2.82 i think.
 
OK today I just realised that i have couple of dead pixels on my PSP screen 👎 👎 👎 this is the site where you guys can download a dead pixel checker http://www.dreamstation.cc/features/video_games/1115057081-41474
I'm so glad that I found this out before the warraty is gone... oh well going to return my PSP to get a new one :D

Oh and Labounti my PSP firmware is 2.71 when i bought it brand new couple of weeks ago. so I guess sony is shipping firmware 2.71 for the OZ
 
You'll be looking forever trying to find a PSP that doesn't have dead pixels. If a newer one like yours has them, then the screen quality hasn't really improved at all. My release date one has a few, but you only see them when the screen is black, so they don't bother me.
 
The reason you bricked is because you didn't read the support documents clearly.

You need to use the 2.80 -> 2.71 downgrader , then apply the 2.71 -> 1.50 downgrader, then apply "3.03 OE-A Custom Firmware" updater if you want to play any ps1 game on your psp. Need proof?

I'm not downgrading my psp again though, hopefully they'll eventually get a 2.71 hack, there's already emulators that work on FW 2+:)

Good news, my psp's getting fixed, i have an appointment in Adelaide on Monday, we'll pick it up then.:)

I already stated i wasnt downlaoding , I've stuck to my word a year ago. And by playing PSone games I mean supporting Sony by buying them from PSN. Nice video though.

I've had one dead pixel on my nearly two year old PSP.
 
um.....well, i'm getting my psp back on Monday, is it safe to reformat the memory stick to delete the downdater files without going into the downdater and bricking it again?
 
OMG!!! i went back to MYER today and they won't replace my dead pixel PSP.... they called sony and said something about the dead pixel policies so they don't want to swap my PSP with the new one!! I'm so pissed!!!

Yep, predicted. What I said earlier about looking forever for a PSP without dead pixels is probably why they won't replace it..

You'll have to put up with it, I'm afraid. :indiff:
 
My first PSP had 2 bad pixels. I got over it quickly.. until I dropped it and took it back and got my money back :D. Then I got a used 1.5 for $200 at the time and its only had one bad pixel. MY HDTV has one bad pixel and almost never notice it unless I'm looking for it.
 
man i must have gotten lucky, both psps ive owned didnt have a single dead pixel,the first one i got in may 2 years ago, and even after cracking the screen after it fell of a shelf it still worked fine, i only started having trouble with the headphone jack when i accidentally shorted it out, so i traded it in and got 100$ credit towards a 200$ new psp, which i love dearly and am playing gta vcs on right now at work :dopey:
 
A few good news, and a few bad news:

I got my psp back.:)

It had a dead pixel when i got it back.:(

It's now on FW 2.80.:)

I got Need for Speed Carbon for it.:)

Online doesn't work anymore, i get an "Internal Error":(
 
You can still enjoy GBA and SNES emulation on 2.80. I want to upgrade to 3.00 but I'll just have to wait ti'll it gets cracked.
 
That was in Adelaide yesterday, but for $90, nah:indiff: i have F1 05 on ps2 though and it's crap:yuck:

Can i do NES? Do i need that eLoader to use them? if so, is it a risk of bricking it again? If it's okay, can you PM me the gba emulator?
 
you do need the tiff exploit eloader to us ebut i have not tried NES but I'd guess it will work. Doom psp works and i dont think it was designed for eloader but it works.
 
its very safe and if it hanges shut it off and just power it back on. sometimes data is left in the ram, it will cause problems unless you fully shut off the system.

eloader wont brick a psp
 
OMFG it works!, i got scared when it froze a couple of times that i'd bricked it.:nervous: I'm playing Poke'mon Emerald now:)
