While the impatient part of me wants it straight away, so I don't feel 'behind'. I do want the PAL version ideally, just in case there are some region locked events.

Thinking like that, I'd assume you want both ;)

What if its compulsary to play that bit to continue in career mode? I wouldnt be able to go any further so I would have no other choice to play that bit so I dont want5 that in GT. Anyway whats your source that it will be in the eu version?
Remember the older GTs? Those games made you participate in oval races just as well. The only difference is that the cars you'll probably going to use for these events are going to be licensed NASCARs.

And, well, do you honestly think that PD bought the NASCAR licenses, modelled all the cars, created the corresponding events and is not going to use it in the EU version? Really?

I'll be waiting for the EU version, simply because DLC isn't region-free, so I won't have to buy PSN cards.

I'm really not interested in NASCAR, but I'll put up with it as long as career mode/licenses don't rub my nose in it too much.

I also hope we see colour and favourite spelt correctly :-)

I'm a bit surprised at the apparent release date. I can see the logic in going for a smaller scale release first, like Japan. Then if there are problems you can fix them.

I know that Europe is a much bigger market than the States but I wouldn't have thought there'd be any advantage in releasing in the States first as it's still a lot of people.

Oh well, it is as it is. I'll wait for the EU version.

Say I get the NA version to play here in Australia, will matchmaking match me with u.s players? Hmmm spose we don't even know how that works yet anyway!!...
I doubt that I think it'll pick people from your region.

No, but we don't want stupid Nascars. And I really hope they don't force you to race with them to process your career.

I'll wait. It's too complicated and useless to import the collectors.
What if I get problems with customs and taxes? What if the shipment takes more than 2 weeks?

It's just a 3 weeks difference anyway.

sorry guys but it's very stupid to ask if the EU version will have Nascar cars ,OMG
That's a full game and in all regions you will get the same game...
(The US players could ask :Will be european cars in the US version ?because I don't like them...omg XD )
And I think that US version will get 3 screens support too

@iceman:And I think that US version will get 3 screens support too

I think the question was if a 3screen setup will work with an NA and 2 EU versions (if preordered??)

I will not import it if i can lay my hands on a CE in Europe. Otherwise i will be obligated to import it.

Will there be a CE version in EU??

Wow. Now that's kinda narrow minded.

I'm no fan of NASCAR myself, but still... We had to do oval racing, we'll have to again and whether you're racing in a Mercedes-Benz SLS or a NASCAR isn't going to make it any more or any less exciting. Personally, I'll rather do it in a NASCAR, it seems just more, well, suited for oval racing. Makes the game somewhat more authentic.

Besides... What's the kind of racing and/or cars you're looking forward to? I bet there's a lot of people who'd disagree with that and wouldn't mind to see that scrapped.

If it really comes almost a month later, I will import from the US.
Or maybe my local game store will have some import copies.
I can buy PSN Cards on Ebay if I want the DLC from the US Store.
I don't think they will add content in that short period of time
Not having a world-wide release would suck, though.

Why import? We've waited many, many years for GT5 to be released. What's 3 more weeks.

Isn't GT5 scheduled to be released world wide on november 2 nd

I know that and those races were incredibly boring. I wish I never had to do those races.

I enjoy any type of motorsports once the track has turns that go both left and right. Its incredibly boring doing circles in just one direction. I also enjoy the slow cars from the standard VW Golf to the pure race cars also. I'm not one of those people who think that only the realy fast cars are fun , I like any type of car that will do 80MPH and above.

The whole point of NASCAR bieng in gt5 is so people outside America get a taste of it

I read this a long time ago in an interview think it was tgs

Importing. Wherever I can get it first :P Just need to wait for Gamescom for the European date and CE details.

So, why don't you like NASCAR then? I mean, they were at Infineon this past weekend. In fact, you have probably raced that very course numerous times in Gran Turismo before now.

And on August 8th they will be at Watkins Glen. Maybe you should watch that, if you can get ESPN.

I don't have an issue with you not liking NASCAR. I'm not a fan myself, but because it will be in GT5 I have watched it some this year since they have to tune differently than in other race series. Call it research. But to say you hope they remove it, thus taking it away from Europeans that do want it or could learn to like a new form of motorsport, is a bit ridiculous.

I mean, I hate drifting. I don't get it and I call into question all sports where the winner is determined by a third party judge as opposed to something completely impartial such as a score or time. But I do not go around saying I hope they take that stupid non-sport out of the game. As a real-life form of motorsport I recognize that it has as much of a role in the game as any form of sportscar racing that I prefer, and that its inclusion is a major bonus for many.

Even though I'm an American, i don't like the oval racing. The reason i don't like the NASCAR idea is because there will probably be much more oval racing than there has been in the past. I've tried to get into NASCAR since it's such a big thing here but I still hate watching it as well as playing it in all the different NASCAR games I've tried.

@ Foolkiller, I don't mind racing on those courses, but the majority of the NASCAR experience is not on road racing circuits.

BTW, I'm not saying it should be dropped, I just don't personally like the idea, but to each there own.

If you want to find that extra couple of tenths per lap time? it sounds like importing would be a wise move :p

Roll on November 24 👍

Yes I have. Ive played a Nascar game before and Ive played a few Nascar Simulation demos and they sucked.

Yes and I've played other sportscar racing games before that sucked... should GT drop Le Mans cars, Touring cars and open wheelers just because in other games its been done badly?

While that is true, a blanket rejection of NASCAR as just oval racing is incorrect, and wishing it would be removed from the game is a bit funny to me when we have been racing on a NASCAR course in Gran Turismo for over five years now. What their inclusion of road courses does show is that you can, and likely will, take these cars on something other than the two new official tracks they included. If your NASCAR experience in GT5 is limited to boring oval racing that will be your fault.

I admit, oval racing can be boring and the inclusion of just super speedways (that we know of so far) seems like a poor way to represent the series. However, I will find it funny when some NASCAR haters take on Indy and try just gassing it through the turns, only to find that they are 90 degree corners. Honestly, I think that a lot of this "oval racing is boring" stuff would be quickly silenced if they had included a short track like Bristol, where close calls and contact are practically required to pass.

Thus far we have seen 2 oval tracks, even if we assume that Twin Ring Motegi Oval is in it's still only 3. 3/?? is hardly that many, all 3 of those ovals also have a road course situated in the complex(even if Daytona and Indy's road courses aren't the greatest).

Chances are there will only be 1 career series and 1 or 2 endurance races(Daytona 500 and Brickyard 400). I'm sure you can tough it out, if you don't like it after that you don't have to touch it again(who knows, you may even enjoy it:idea:).👍
