I'll buy the EU version on the day it's released. I bet it takes more than 3 weeks to get it shipped here from America anyways.

No, but we don't want stupid Nascars. And I really hope they don't force you to race with them to process your career.

It depends what you mean.

It'll make the game challenging. Imagine PacMan where you could miss out the parts you can't do, or Tetris, or whatever - bit ****, no?

Anyway, completing the NASCAR portion, plus karting, plus WRC, plus Sunday Cup etc. etc. etc. should count towards 100% - if you don't want to do NASCAR, then you obviously don't want 100% (not that 100% completion really means anything in real terms).

If they don't force you to do a particular portion of the game, that would be ideal - i.e. you get to choose your career path at every turn; GT isn't Toca RaceDriver. If you fancy a switch to WRC from NASCAR, you can - so long as you've got the credentials (licences, pass an evaluation of your driving ability etc. - similar to the process in The Real World™.)

"NASCAR Racing 2003" is good, I've heard (I have it, but can't comment on it's accuracy vs. the real thing - and it was made by Papyrus, so it's probably pretty close). But you can't buy it (new), since the licence expired - and it's a bit old now, too.

I really dont know why you guys wont accept the fact some of us just dont like NASCAR. We all on here are individuals with different tastes and are allowed to dislike certain sports that you might like. Just because you guys arguing with us that dislike the sport like the sport doesnt mean we have to like the sport. So please leave us have have our opinion about that certain sport.

I'm not bothered about that, i'm not even a fan on Nascar. It's just the fact that you have already decided your not going to like it without even trying it for yourself.

It's more because of the reason you gave.

You said you dislike driving in circles. However, NASCAR doesn't necessarily equal driving in circles.

Not having NASCAR wouldn't save you from driving in circles either, so what's the point?

I have more of a problem with you saying you don't like something without giving it a fair chance, as well as saying it shouldn't be in the game simply because you don't like it.

I for one don't like drifting, I have watched several events and tried doing it in Forza 2 and GT5P and just never got that into it. Despite this I feel drifting should still be in GT5 as a good number of people enjoy it and who knows, maybe I may catch the bug when GT5 rolls around.

Thus far we have seen 2 oval tracks, even if we assume that Twin Ring Motegi Oval is in it's still only 3. 3/?? is hardly that many, all 3 of those ovals also have a road course situated in the complex(even if Daytona and Indy's road courses aren't the greatest).

Chances are there will only be 1 career series and 1 or 2 endurance races(Daytona 500 and Brickyard 400). I'm sure you can tough it out, if you don't like it after that you don't have to touch it again(who knows, you may even enjoy it:idea:).👍

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that it shouldn't be included, or trying to attack NASCAR, I was just saying that I can see more oval racing than in previous titles. Also I will give everything on the game a shot, whether or not it looks fun (in my opinion).

I see so Im not entitled to my own opinion , nor am I not allowed to dislike Nascar or racing in circles.

You can have your opinion, you should at least make sure you know what you are talking about before you post it on the internet.

Also, all circuit racing is going in circles.

I didn't say that. I said give it a chance before you make an opinion based on nothing but ignorance.

WOW! I'm ignorant and stupid now. Anything else you guys want to throw at me? Your replies still tell me that you guys think I am not entitled to my opinion nor am I allowed to dislike Nascar because you say so.

My issue with you isn't your opinion. You didn't start off just saying you don't like NASCAR. You started off saying you hope the EU doesn't get it.

In buying the EU version I am hoping they dont include the extremely boring Nascar cars and races.

And that is my problem with your statement. In stating your opinion you also voiced a desire to not allow others in your region to possibly enjoy something you won't.

And then you made the poorly informed statement about NASCAR turning both directions, which I was pointing out that it does.

Now, if your intent was purely to come in here and spout of your opinion of NASCAR I have to ask why you chose to do it off-topic in a thread discussing whether people in Europe would be importing the game if they are truly getting it 22 days after the US? Maybe that would have been better placed in a thread discussing NASCAR?

It just seems you're hating on something without a proper reason. I guess it's only natural for peoople to pick up on that.

I'll wait for the EU release.

I might buy the odd bit of DLC and expect some online events to be region locked. 3 weeks is not that long. If it was a gap of 3 months or with Christmas in between, I probably would import but it would be the Japanese version anyway.

The whole "NASCAR sucks, it shouldn't be in the game", I don't get it at all. I'm not a fan of NASCAR, nor do I fully understand the tactics and rules that apply to it. But its the same story when I bought Colin Mcrae 3 way back, I knew nothing about Rallying and so on, but now I love it. I feel the same will happen with GT5 and NASCAR, it will get me into it, and in the end, I will probably come away a huge fan of the sport :)

Just stop dude. Your being pretty immature there...

I don't like the idea of nascar either, But im going to play it. Ive already downloaded the nascar 09 (EA) demo and I didn't have much fun, But No wonder that franchise fell, and I hope GT can pick it up and make it fun. All the versions will have the same content, its just the names of different models that will be changed, because car companys all change the model names depending on region (To make it more suitable and what not)...

Have your own opinion, but (don't be immature about it) and try it out..

..Your acting like a 12 year old

Hey guys, will the EU release have Super GT in it?

joke...

I'm keen to know if there will be a special edition for the UK though?

I enjoy any type of motorsports once the track has turns that go both left and right. Its incredibly boring doing circles in just one direction.
Since NASCARs do race at road tracks (and infields and such), they do turn both left and right. That's why I'm thinking you've formed your opinion on wrong facts or without getting any info on the subject.

I guess there will. I mean, it's unlikely that PD/Sony are willing to miss out on the extra cash to be made from selling the CEs everywhere.

I dont think anybody is questioning your dislike of NASCAR

Its just the fact you want it removed from GT5 or not a part of "GT Life" (getting 100%)

I'm sure if you asked everyone on this forum is there a type of motorsport they wouldn't want in GT5 I'm sure everyone could pick one.

I for one do not like rally racing. I think the tracks are kind of a waste since only really rally cars an participate on them. I dont like sliding around a turn. In Gran Turismo 4 I maxed out a Escudo to something like 1,500 HP and just wall surfed the rally courses. Attempting to race them properly or enjoy them didn't interest me. I also dislike the fact there is only 1 or 2 other cars on track. In real rallying its just you vs the clock which I really hate

But do you see me complaining about rally racing in GT? Do you see me campaigning for the exclusion of the series from GT or do you see me not wanting it to be part of GT Life so I can get 100% without rallying?

As much as I dislike it I can see there is some fun to it. I'm sure a reasonable person can see that there is some fun to NASCAR oval racing as well

As for F1 if they dont fix the physics a F1 series wont interest me either. The GT5P F1 car had way too much grip and you had to turn your wheel way oo much to get the maximum out of the tires

Relax. Your fears are unjustified. There will be only 2 maybe 3 oval tracks in GT5 max. That means a 10 race NASCAR championship will be 70% road courses at the minimum with your precious right hand turns. So why the fuss?

You can't stomach a few hours of oval racing to complete GT5? If drag racing is confirmed for GT5 do you want it removed as well?

Also, dont be surprised if NASCAR oval races rank among one of the top online racing combinations

I'm just going to wait three weeks and a day for a copy in which Dutch is included to understand all of the game AND either admire how much better PD's translations are than EA's or laugh if they're no better or worse.

Well, at least since GT5 lets you output HD video to youtube directly it will all be high quality ;)
Watching all those videos will probably just be torturing yourself, though...

I'm going to try and spend those three weeks with as much non-GT related stuff as possible...

I will eat lot of vicodins until get hook up( like house  )awake in whatever time the launch is or until it gets to my place, still jp release date haven't been announced yet(or I don't know yet) ,and Amazon jp doesn't have that item either if you know something a way of pre order it in Japan let me know :)

My concern here is, why do we still have PAL, NTSC, and NTSC-JP? Couldn't be just as easy to have 1 region unlocked version? Then, if you did decide to play online, then you can play players in your region, or include the entire world.

I for one, would like to play others outside the North American region, without having to purchase a HDTV and another copy of GT5 to do so.

I will buy both versions. For the reason I just explained.
