I don't think the problem will occur. While there are differences with each manufacturer, the drag coefficient will probably end up being about the same for all of them.

Also hearing that the Aero-push will still be there, as engineers have said it's hard to get rid of.

There is a very simple way to get rid of the aero-push: get rid of the front splitter, shark fin, cut the rear spoiler height in half and raise the cars up 5 inches off the ground. They could let them go to town with the motors then, it wouldn't matter if you had 1000hp they would have to lift for the corners. We would find out who the real drivers were then as well :sly:

Nothing. So maybe they should make one? 💡

As much as we'd all like that, I don't see that happening. Going off what they did with the 86, the more exciting car won't come to the US, not as a Toyota at least. Instead, we'll get another unflattering facelifted Beigemobile or another boring sedan to the lineup thats "Sporty". You know how it is, almost nothing exciting ever makes it over.

I thought that was done for safety.

Don't think I've heard anyone point that out before. Usually, the overall opinion seems to be that it looks Aston Martin like.

NHRA/IHRA shortened there races? Never got the impression those were too long.

They shortened the track after a bad wreck to bring the speeds down a bit. As far as I know...

Point being made is if you want to watch a short race watch these, yes the track was shortened for safety. Has anyone been to a drag event, it's not 3-4 hrs long it's 3 days long. But each race is less than 30 sec, just in case they happen to be running RV's.

Here are some better images, unfortunately most of them have a Toyota watermark on them.

Haha, I like the registration plate on the back. Doubt that's part of the look as it would take up Sponsorship decal space but nice touch,

Meh...Kinda underwhelmed...

A Toyota Camry road version was hardly going to be as exciting as a Dodge Charger road version. Same principal applies to Nascar really.

I like it. Massive kudos to Toyota as they built all of their Nascars in the U.S. unlike some of the other manufacturers and have got a tidy looking road version lookalike to roll.

Well it's futuristic looking to say the least. Now all there is left is the Chevrolet SS.

And the Chevrolet SS won't be shown until later this year. I'm guessing it has something to do with styling not being finalized on the production version.

Why in the hell would Ryan Newman want to leave Hass?!

Maybe not "want" maybe more "have no choice" to. Danica's going to attract way more sponsorship and publicity.

There's talk that Stewart would replace Newman with Stenhouse Jr. if it came down to Newman not wanting a new contract.

Hasn;t Roush been trying to get funds to run Stenhouse again? Or at least bring back the #6?

Not as nice as the Fusion or the Charger, but it's certainly a lot better looking than the current car.

I wouldn't be shocked if Dodge did make a deal with a team and brought Newman aboard, he was the best Dodge driver for the longest time after all and won them the 500.

Of course he could always end up back at Penske in the #22 if Allmendinger doesn't turn it around.

Roush doesn't seem like the type of owner to prohibit Stenhouse leaving if he can't provide a car for him. I do hope a competitive team can get him in a ride though, would be a shame if he continues this pace and doesn't end up in Cup for '13.

The primary reason i dont watch NASCAR is the length of the races. I also think that shorter races would motivate the drivers to go a bit harder, with less time to plan a complex strategy. Thus, more action.

Rusty Wallace... getting in the first year? Shenanigans.....

He has a great track record. I bet Lobonte would have been on the Ballad if he was fully retired. Jarrett should be nominated for 2014, though.

There's others that should have easily beat Wallace into the HoF.

Red Byron, first Sprint Cup series champion, in 1949.
Richard Childress, 11-time car owner champion in NASCAR's three national series.
Jerry Cook, six-time NASCAR Modified champion.
H. Clay Earles, founder of Martinsville Speedway.
Tim Flock, two-time NASCAR Sprint Cup series champion.
Ray Fox, legendary engine builder and owner of cars driven by Buck Baker, Junior Johnson and others.
Anne Bledsoe France, helped build the sport with husband Bill France Sr.
Rick Hendrick, 13-time car owner champion in NASCAR's three national series.
Jack Ingram, two-time NASCAR Nationwide Series champion and three-time Late Model Sportsman champion.
Cotton Owens, driver-owner, won 1966 owner championship with David Pearson.
Raymond Parks, NASCAR's first champion car owner.
Benny Parsons, 1973 NASCAR Sprint Cup series champion and popular television commentator.
Fireball Roberts, 33 NASCAR Sprint Cup series wins, including the 1962 Daytona 500.
Wendell Scott, NASCAR trailblazer was the first African-American NASCAR Sprint Cup series race winner, and first to be nominated for induction into the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
Curtis Turner, early personality, called the "Babe Ruth of stock car racing."

Any of those people should have been in before Rusty Wallace.

Also. Jack Ingram only won 2 Busch Series (NNS) championships. So, why don't we stop doing the _ time champion BS already. They have names, please refer to them by their names.

Cotton Owens was inducted into the HOF, read the article again. I was surprised to see Rusty get inducted so soon, but he is definitely worthy of induction. 👍 At least the voting commission this year voted on the idea that you can't have a proper Hall Of Fame without the pioneers of the sport.

I missed removing him from the overall list I had copy/pasted. While I don't argue Rusty's induction, I just feel it's too soon. I really hope Wendell Scott doesn't get looked over completely considering he was the Jackie Robinson of NASCAR.

Just heard that Ryan Truex has tweeted about recently having emergency surgery to remove his appendix.

You mean Aston Martin? And yeah, many, many, many times before....

Aston Martin! That's the one I meant, I don't know European cars too well

And yeah, figured it would have to have been noticed before. Does look good though, don't mind the Camry either, for a Camry at least

Kurt Busch wrecks in qualifying. I want to hear his in-car audio!
