Mustang is being used in the Nationwide series alongside the Challenger. Camaro isn't being used because GM couldn't get the roofline the way they wanted for the Camaro on the NW body.
Cup Series is a marketing tool for family sedans now. Camaro and Mustang don't fit into that and definitely don't need any marketing pushes.

Totally agree. I think making Nascars to look like roadcars is a smart advertisement tool that I think will go down well in 90% of Nascar fans but not so much with the 'purists.'

That won't be coming back ever. When the cars spun around it acted... well... like a wing and caused the cars to become airborne. It also hampered visibility out of the back of the cars, so for more than one safety reason it was reverted back to the blade spoiler.
Funny you mention that. Considering theres been cars with spoilers taking off for years. The wing going backwards wouldnt make enough lift to make the car fly. Now having a car with skirts on the sides and splitter on the ground traveling backwards with a huge rear opening will pack enough air underneath it to lift it. The wing was removed because people disliked the looks. Weve already seen a spoilered car take off last year. If they wanted the cars to stop flying they would have hinged skirts that when pressure under the car was high would blow out the pressure through the sides

didnt even need to go full backwards to flip, thats the first find and i know theres 2 more but i cant recall the race or year they happened. Nascar is trying the same thing the ACO is doing for LMP cars. They know the underbody when going backwards makes a huge high pressure area that lifts the cars up, so by putting a huge fin across the back in hopes the cars dont go full circle in a high speed spin try to prevent the angle of crash that would cause a flip.

What about Kenseth's flip at 'dega in the 2009 Nationwide race?
Car was sideways when it flipped and it wasn't any of the new cars. This was pre shark fin and pre NNS COT.
You aren't helping your case.
Since they went back to the normal spoiler, the cars stopped flipping on their own. The shark fin was there with the wing as well and it wasn't helping keep the cars down.
