It's the season kick-off, lads!!
Damn, I can't wait. Hope all goes well - for everyone. Can't help rooting for Dale. Or Danica. I'm being totally disloyal to the guys I usually root for: sorry A.J., Carl, Kevin, Jeffy . . ..
 
Can you feel it? Daytona 500 2012 will begin proper later today! It will be time to turn loose another season of NASCAR Cup racing. It's the Super Bowl of NASCAR.

No matter who your favorite drivers and/or teams are, I wish all 43 drivers well. Go put on a great show for all of us. Have fun and be safe. Now go tear up some race cars! :) And by the way, I wouldn't be surprised if this race has any kind of chaotic finish like the Trucks and Nationwide series have put on this weekend.
 
According to Jayski it has started raining at the track.:nervous: Still 1.5 hours before green so hopefully it stops.

Edit: Why is Fox playing the NFL theme?

Thank God I have nothing on Monday. I can stay up as long as I can but yes, it's already raining :(

EDIT: The weather forecast reckons that the race will go on and the strong wind there will aid in drying up the track...
 
I was watching the pre-race stuff on SPEED, and a guy in the background had a sign that read, "Hey Busch, hold your line!":lol:

I believe they use that theme for all sporting events now. It seems they've gotten lazy over the years.

Nah, they just diverted all their attention to forced cheeky phrases like "Around the Turn".:yuck:

Ooh, wow, Lenny Kravitz, nothing starts a major event like an artist that hasn't been relevant for 10+ years. They must be trying to be like the NFL in more and more ways.:lol:
 
Worse comes to worst, I'll be doing a life feed throughout the race on my Twitter page.

It still looks wet out there with about an hour left before green. Lenny Kravitz is on the stage performing. Wow. Wait he's not really performing eh?

I actually remember Lenny Kravitz singing during an NFL game. Back in 04' I believe. I can barely remember that, but he sung "I Wanna Go My Way".
 
If its like last night their will be streams being taken down all day, just keep searching and you'll find one thats up!

I was thinking "hasn't been relevant since GT3 came out" but then I realized those were the same timelines.

Looks like they may be bringing over the 86 GT to go with the Mustangs and Challengers, although I'm probably being optimistic.
 
It might be the zebra stripes, but the rear wheel wells look more flared.
