Liverpool victorious at Anfield South.

Time for Nascar, oh wait...

Weather isn't looking rosy tomorrow either. Hope they run it tonight as they've got the lights and all the infrastructure to do so.

I never really thought Danica was all that pretty, but this picture... :D

...
... okay, back into racing mode. Not gonna catch Danica fever.

If this race gets pushed to Monday, will this be the first time we have the 500 on a Monday?

I believe so. The Waltrips were talking about it earlier.

The track has lights. If it stops at all, the race should happen tonight. The 500 finish was awesome under the lights in 2010. I was there.

Was there too for my birthday, sat at the entrance of pit road off of turn 4!:)
My video from the nighttime:

If this race gets going tonight (hopefully it does), will it be the first Daytona 500 started in the dark and still ends at night?

All FOX has afterwards is paid programming, if my guide is right.
My guess is night race. :nervous: I hope I'm right.

my tv says local news and then animation domination but i would imagine the race would take priority over those

Leave it to NASCAR to have a debacle for the 500. Would not be surprised to see Phoenix shifted/moved altogether to save face and run this on a Sunday period.

They can't exactly control the weather.

No but they have had weather issues at the 500 many times. Compacting the season may kill their ratings (if that's what they care about).

They won't do that. If it's not in today, it'll be tomorrow. If not tomorrow, Tuesday. The teams have multiple haulers so they can send those trucks out while they are still in Daytona.

Exactly how? Last I checked, NASCAR doesn't choose perfect weather.

No but they seem to care more about the pre-race show than they actually do about getting the race in. If they had decided to push everything up they may have a chance to get it in today (they also may not have). I also never said NASCAR controls the weather but they also never plan in advance just in case there is weather issues.

Ok, what else can they do right now? The water isn't drying up, the weather from what I hear isn't letting up. So exactly, what else can they do? Like you said, they may not have had chance even if they moved everything up.

Nothing but the ratings are going to tank now. They need to be consistent this year in making everything not about the ratings but the racing. Tonight will be a ratings drop (for numerous reasons) and tomorrow they have to run the race in the morning which will also kill ratings (same goes for Tuesday and Wednesday). I just want to know what direction the heads of the sport are planning to go. Is it after ratings or improved racing?

They would have had to run the race really early this morning to get it fully in. It started raining at around 11:30am local time.

Well, the pre-race was Fox's deal, not like NASCAR told them they had to have an hour pre race show. Moving a race up isn't as simple as it sounds either as you would need to alert fans, work it out with the network, local authorities, sponsors etc...

They won't be doing anything with Pheonix either for exactly the same reasons.
