Track looks horrible, to be honest. All that Speedy Dry, even if you brush it off, leaves a residue that'll create a lot of dust for a few laps and hinder visibility...

I expect we'll go yellow soon after we go back to green...

Anyone else feel really bad for Jimmie Johnson?

I do: pretty demoralising for him right now. He's not had a good time lately.

Carl Edwards took a tear-off off and got black flagged for it. lol

NASCAR is intensely strict. Bill France handed that philosophy down since the drivers actually tried to start an union. He didn't give in. They still don't have an union.

Hey! It's a dream job, anyway.

What did Waltrip say about the orange cone? This place is too distracting.

Also, very off topic, but it's the middle of winter here and I think I hear tornado sirens? It's also midnight so couldn't be a test.

500 miles of racing's worth of debris not being cleaned off the track could arguably be more dangerous as you will have crashes from that every race. You can see it in endurance races that go huge gaps without cautions where they can blow off the track. A car takes a wide line to make a pass and loses control due to the marbles. They could go back to the old roller brushes but they were not as effective or quick.

Though I think a speed limit for cars catching up to the pack wouldn't be a bad idea. If pace speed is 70 then what is reasonably safe but still gives a decent opportunity to catch up?

But ultimately we are looking at a situation that had crazy odds of happening. The track is 13,200 feet long. A car is ~17 feet long. To have the accident happen at that exact moment to put 17 of 13,200 feet in the exact spot where that blower was is insanely crazy. If you consider that normally the cars are under, arguably, intelligent control the odds are even greater. And that is assuming the track is a single line. If I took the time to factor in square footage of the track and all runoff areas the odds would be comparable to winning the lottery.

Danica almost struck a safety vehicle in a similar incident 4 years ago, so such incidents are not ultra rare.

Sorry for the grammar, but...
Does anyone know if this is correct? It definitely doesn't sound right. I know the rule is if the next word starts with a vowel, you use "an" but if not you use "a." Is this just an exception or does everyone say it the wrong way without ever noticing? Somebody get Famine in here.

Off topic: That's a good question, I have never seen this before. It sounds funky.. pretty sure everyone says 'a union'. But technically 'an union' should be correct.

On topic: Engines have fired on the straight!

The cars are moving. Good sign.

The race has restarted. HELL YEAH!

I wonder how bad of shape Blaney is going to say the track is?

I wouldn't be shocked to see it called because of track conditions though.

How many racing series are there? How many total races a year? How many over four years? One close call and one actual hit. Two incidents out of tens of thousands of miles. There are dozens of activities on track that are far more dangerous. There could be many more incidents if a rule change affects debris cleanup.

If they stopped high speed speeding under yellow After Danica's 2007 crash this likely would have never happened or would have been far less serious. But did they say her crash was rare and not worty changing anything over?

The idea is to fix problems before someone gdts hurt

He's saying something similar to what Jeff said back at Pocono in 2007:
"Its pouring like crazy here!"

They're moving! After two hours of explody-ness, we're finally off...

No. Just shut up, honestly.

I can't tell you what to do but I recommend calming down. We're just trying to make light of the situation. It's not like anyone died or was seriously injured.

There's been 5 known incidents of racers colliding with safety trucks in the last 30 years.

I'd say it's "ultra rare". Thousands of races, thousands more race cars. The odds of anything like that happening is extremely low.
