You don't own the content in a console game any more than you own it in iRacing.

As far as real physics go you can't beat iRacing. I tend to treat console NASCAR games the way I treat most of the Need for Speed series. Just because they aren't realistic doesn't mean that they can't be a hell of a lot of fun :)

Hmmm. Stop paying ur iracing subscription and you no longer can play iracing. Psn is free and if you stop paying xbox live you can still play offline.

The point was, with any software you almost never technically own any of the content.

I understand the difference you are both pointing out though.

Its a NASCAR game, what else would you expect? I personally like the physics. No one can real claim if any NASCAR game's physics are good because no one here has driven a NASCAR car before.

M'eh. I've never been in a war but I can tell you Call of Duty doesn't do a very good job simulating it.

Is this game anything like Nascar 2003?
 
I guess most who post in this thread know the patch is estimated to be delivered some time in early May assuming testing by Sony/Microsoft goes off without a hitch. I tried some multiplayer last night and it was horrible. We went under caution for a wreck behind me at Atlanta. Somehow, my car got damaged during the caution even though no one was around me even before it came out. I had been running in second place about 2 seconds off the leader. And, one car got stuck in turn 4 making for a several minute long caution.

I'm quite happy about this game. As for Iracing, I have yet to try it and probably never will because I've heard it takes awhile to get to the cars you actually want to drive.

I actually have my NASCAR license type A. This allows me to drive up to ARCA or Camping World Truck Series. I have been attempting to get into the K&N series through some sponsors, have had no luck. They are mainly looking to make NASCAR more ethnic friendly currently.

As for the physics, iRacing has it nearly perfect. The only thing missing is the cockpit that has g-force effects, LOL. NTG11 is a complete slap in the face to any avid SIM/console racer who plays it for more than "just a game". I could care less how many patches or DLC's they throw at us, this game is a complete mockery of NASCAR.

AND, you obviously have NO clue as to how iRacing works. So, keep your comments to yourself. If you are happy in la-la land with NTG11, stay there. The real racers will continue to push SIM's to their limit. I hope Eutechnyx makes up for it with NTG12, but for now, NTG11 is a complete FAIL!

Again, this is all my opinion, but an avid console/SIM racer opinion. NTG11 is at best, a pubescent child's arcade game, period!

Does anyone know how to put a number on paint schemes that don't have one?

Also, this game is 75% more fun for me with a controller.
 
Going to trade in a few games this coming week and I'll take the plunge and get the game imported and play it.

Having only followed NASCAR since... 06 or so, I've bought all the EA games since then and Im looking forward to something new and fresh!
 
Just read they've submitted Patch #2 for testing, so shouldn't be too far off. Anyone know when we're supposed to see the 2011 Cars update?

Not sure, although it we downloaded it on release day.

Here's my first attempt at a decent paint scheme. They are including decals for the headlights, taillights, etc in the next patch so will have to do without for the time being.

Anyone else having trouble getting their custom paint schemes to work right in Career mode? My car has Zero stickers on it when I race in Career. :(
 
I changed something on the car and then it worked.

Raced Vegas tonight and managed to restart the race three times as I repeatedly hit the wall coming out of the corners. Then went into the pits in 3rd and came out 30th. :(

I'm trying to find this game for the PS3 for here in the UK. Amazon.com is £47 (Import duty is a pain), and everywhere else puts it at about £42. I'm looking for it in the £30-£39 price range. Anyone know where I can get it at this price? Or a cheaper price per chance?
 
I haven't bothered checking yet but try shop-to.net
It's advertised on here sometimes and it's pretty cheap. I'm not sure if you would be able to get NASCAR on it though cause I think it might be games available in the UK only.

No idea of how good or bad it is as my G25 does not work with it. Looking at the forums over there, with 37 pages of reported bugs and 22 pages of complaints, I don't hold out much hope of my problem being addressed soon.
Why do games houses release product that are so obviously not ready for prime time ? :banghead: It defies belief.

There is a patch coming out very soon that addresses a ton of problems. I personally have had no problems with the game at all besides the AI being a little weak.

This was recommended by a friend to use i haven't used the site yet myself . Just awaiting the patch so my wheel works.
 
Got this game today. Was having a lot of fun with it till I got to Bristol lol. The camera work on that track is iffy. Seems like everything slows down in the turns and then speeds up again in the straight. Weird. I'm a little disappointed that you don't start off in the Whelen series and then work your way up to Craftsman, Nationwide, then Nascar like in the previous versions I've played. Oh well, still a fun game overall.

edit: oh wow what is up with the cautions in this game? Every track I've spun out at least once and the game didn't call a caution but yet once an AI driver goes off track, flag is out.

They're supposed to be fixing that with the next patch. I had an instance today where I overshot the pits and it brought the caution out. I chose to pit under the caution and was at the back of the line coming in. The AI cars piled up in front of my car, so I ran into the back of the car in front of me and was pushed back out on to the track. From there my car followed the pace car all the way around the track and then pitted.

Then on the next race I was coming out of the pits. The AI controlling my car was hot on the gas and spun out into the grass on the inside of the track, then couldn't get going again. :rolleyes:
 
So far I like the game a lot. It's different from GT5 which is good and bad. I like being able to create my own paint job but half the time when I'm racing, the sponsor logos aren't showing up, all I see is the base paint. Weird. I am already level 13 and that's just from playing the game since around noon today lol. I have set up the races to have at least one pit stop. AI is on very hard and I have been using limited assists with no braking assist - so annoying to have your car automatically slow down lol. Cannot wait to play online.
 
Just raced online. My opponents...

- 2 guys driving as Dale Jr.
- A guy with a Regan Smith custom car.
- A *ugh* guy who had unmentionable words on his car.
- And a dude in the generic 53 car.

We raced at Kansas. First lap - the swear-word car guy wrecked the Regan Smith guy. Not even turn 1 and he pulls of this BS. He (swear-word guy) then proceeded to drive backwards and wreck everybody. This guy almost cost me a decent finish. The Regan Smith guy then proceeds to drive backwards and wreck the swear-word guy.

It was crazy. The 53 car finished 1st. The Dale Jr guys finished in 2nd and 3rd. I finished 4th. And the others DNF.
