We haven't even seen what the whole map looks like yet. It'll probably be a lot bigger when it's released. *Please do correct me if I'm wrong if the whole map has been shown before.*
It's supposed to be a mix of city (Underground, Carbon etc.) And country roads (Rivals), So I can imagine it being a very big map with lots of road and scenic variety

Some interesting information in this video:

  • The map is split into six districts and what we've seen so far is about half the size of this particular district.
  • More news on customization and performance upgrades in September.

Finger crossed for full on performance tuning ala GT.

Yeah it will be 12 times bigger than the e3 demo area based on what this video is saying, i'm referring to people saying that it will be twice the size of the Rivals map when it will actually be a lot smaller but with twice the amount of roads.

Map size is relative really. Undercover, HP 2010 and Rivals had a huge map in terms of area, but it's mostly highways with empty space in between (not that there's anything wrong with that for the type of game they were). Conversely MW 2012 had a small map area but it's densely packed and you can jump on buildings and stuff, which suits that type of "action" racing better.

Ideally, something like Burnout Paradise or Underground 2 map would be great. You had the densely packed city area, then a more open mountain roads on the other side. The map size wasn't too big so you can really get to know each area, but not too small either to avoid making the races repetitive.

Guys how do you import images on here?

I'm honestly pretty happy about Ken Block being in NFS 2015. He had a special contract with EA for quite a while and was wondering when will he actually be featured in a NFS game rather than promoting the series. Glad Ghost Games is making good use of his contract here. ;)

Guys clearly this image should give you a glimpse of what can we expect from las venturas.it looks very dense and honestly it reminds me of one of the promo images of underground 2.

Canyons are back and this place looks huge , the only thing is that its gonna be at night i wish they can change their mind and make it a dynamic day/night cycle because at night i don't think we will appreciate the country roads .they can also extend it to cover some of the redwood roads of Yosemite and maybe deserts.like is aid before if you guys want to get an idea of what this map gonna look like think of los santos and midnight club L.A.

Honestly I'm reminded of GTA V's map seeing as there looks to be a city and country/canyon section to the entire map.

It's cool how they modeled the San Pedro Bridge, even down to the blue lights they use at night. I wonder if that is going to be accessible.

Has anyone else found themselves questioning why Smokey Nagata, a freaking legend in Japan, isn't the 'Speed' or 'Outlaw' Icon. ?

I mean the guy was doing 200+ well before Magnus was even 'on the radar', so to speak.

Which I'm pretty sure Magnus hasn't, and nothing against the guy, makes nice looking Porsches (have you seen his GT2 Turbo ?), but credit where it's due, Smokey's done the actual 'Speed' thing on actual public roads, qualifying him for the 'Speed' Icon role more-so than Magnus, IMO.

Then on the 'Outlaw' side, Smokey has the arrest-record in England to easily qualify him for the 'Outlaw' Icon.

Which again, I don't think Shinichi has (feel free to prove me wrong), but if you're going to 'represent a style', you should actually 'live' that, rather than just 'talk' it.

*cue everyone telling me why I'm out of my mind* :p

Only reason I can think of is the SpeedHunters-crowd pandering really.

And yes, I believe the decision to go SZ-R, rather than RZ, is quite stupid (Yeah I said it :mischievous:).

Probably it's because he's not "mainstream" enough. You know how EA culture is...

About the canyon roads, I would be disappointed if there is no risk of falling off the cliffside. That part always makes the Canyon races in Carbon super intense 👍

Also, I hope drag racing makes a return. But it's unlikely with only auto transmission available :indiff:

If only having auto isn't stopping them from having drifting in the game, I don't see why drag racing would be any different.

Also, @Kurei you're out of your mind. It's a game, and while they tried to match the characters with what they felt they represented best, it's not like these game actors got to choose what part they are going to play.

i think the canyons will be more touge and drifting than sudden death corners, also the style icon most likely will be the star of the canyons and Morohoshi can play a part on the country roads too since he's the supercars and exotics icon.

You can drift with auto, but the whole challenge of drag racing is who can nail the most perfect shifts. Having drag racing with auto will just negate the purpose because everyone can just mash the gas and it will end in a 4-way tie.

You can also drag race in an auto too. Yes it would be preferable with manual, just like it would for drifting, but that's not stopping it. Depending on how in depth the tuning is, it would depend on that.

Well in past games regardless if you were running automatic or not it threw you into manual. But then you were on rails with 'lane hopping', so there's that.

Yes you can, but there would be no point because everyone can drive in a straight line. The differentiating skill factor in drag racing is the shifting. Drifting even with auto you still have to judge the braking/steering/throttle like any other racing, hence the challenge is still there even with auto. Anyway, since it isn't in the game this discussion is moot.

Also, the tuning won't be anything like UG2. It's just a generic Drift/Grip slider and all of the sliders underneath just modifies that by smaller increments. No gear ratio adjustments as well most likely which means all cars will perform equal in a straight line when max tuned.

I agree with the Smokey part. Would have preferred to see him in the game

Carl Johnson approves your post. *Lets be honest here, did you just mistaken Ventura Bay with Las Venturas from GTA San Andreas?*
