That's fine, and yet again why do you need to own one of each model? Other than owning all cars achievement and so on what does it really give you as far as the game goes...like I said and will stick with. Five is good for me and others and not for everyone. But if someone comes out and says "No it's not fine" toward another user as if they know better than them, that's an issue. If a person has issue with it fine but don't force it on others to agree with in some far off attempt (one can assume) to change it down the road.

And no, I never said it was his fault, but when you make links to why you expected it or wanted it a certain way due to simulator esque car collecting games...then yeah it is your fault. NFS in any life form has never been about full on garage collecting and probably will never be.

I'm a completionist. I also happen to like a wide variety of cars. And I also don't like my imagination stifled.

There is no rational reason to limit it to 5. If you are fine with 5, good on you and I respect that. But I'm not going to accept EA's reasoning that 5 is better than unlimited. At worse they are going to charge money for extra garage slots (like Grid Autosport :yuck:). At best they might reconsider (if not this game then the next one).

Let's think about this simply:

- With unlimited, you can still stick to your 5 cars and be happy. Me and others that want more are also happy.

- With 5, you are happy. Me and others are NOT happy.

It's a no-brainer which is the win-win scenario right?

Also just look at how many people are disgruntled: https://www.reddit.com/r/needforspeed/comments/3bjls0/nfs_2015_will_have_a_5_car_max_garage/

It really doesn't matter which is better, this is a design choice that Ghost have made and they won't change it. The lack of manual transmission is far worse and that is another design choice that they have made and don't seem to care that the majority of people want manual.

As @TiZzla said I feel the Manual issues is far more of an issue than 5 car limits. As for the garage limits as I said you can show me what you want, I think the notion that people must be completionist or hoarders or collectors isn't necessary. If you like that fine, but this is their creative idea on the bond they think we'll get with cars, and as fans though we have a voice, why should we dictate their imagination. This is their game to the public and not our will on them, you have a conscious choice to buy it or not based on what or how they build the game, but they shouldn't change just to fulfill your niche or any one else.

Also the scenario you posed it quite loaded, in thought. You basically act as if I'm forcing my will upon those who are unhappy cause I'm fine with five cars. When in reality I don't hold that kind of power, I just happen to respect the decision made to do this, you don't for reasons that are fine and that's that honestly. There isn't any hypothetical this or that.

It's not fine for you, but it's fine for me, @LMSCorvetteGT2 and some others. What is there to argue about ? Everybody has their own opinion. I'm sorry but the way you quoted my initial post sounds like you are forcing your opinion @TorqueHappenS08.

I used to feel that it shouldn't be limited but looking at the car list again, i changed my mind. There are some cars that i can see as a keeper and there are some that not. Definitely can't wait to bond with those cars.

Got the beta (I guess this is not a "CLOSED" beta) and I'm disappointed:

- It wants to be a NFS Underground 2, accordingly to that you have to answer all the annoying and unnecessary phone calls with L1 instead of answer automatically
- You can't pause the game because of the "always online" ****. While pause, your car will drive automatically forward
- The main menu and all other menus are confusing as hell.
- You can't change that much in the options.
- Arrows ON the streets will ALWAYS show you the route and you can't disable it (see above)
- If you crash, you will be reset the wrong way, lol
- It doesn't look that good
- The handling of the cars are delayed and no, it's not my TV. Worser than at The Crew (where you can improve it). That
licentious steering want to give you realism I guess - awful!
- You can't skip the annoying und unnecessary cutscenes. I do not want to see something like this, damn, this is a racing game.
- The races are boring.
- The streets are ALWAYS wet as mentioned
- Checkpoints for what?
- Always online
- Ghost Games

This is more like a bad Underground 2.5 instead of a good Underground 3.

I did not mean that you were forcing your will upon others, sorry. My English isn't bad but it's still not my first language and sometimes I find it hard to convey the subtleties of my thought.

I just can't fathom how some people think a limit is better than no limit, that's all. But at the end of the day we don't have a choice in this matter. EA is not the type to listen to fans anyway. So I'll just do what I have always done: vote with my wallet. It's just really frustrating because I (and many others) thought this is finally going to be the NFS we're all waiting for, but they just have to make weird decisions, be it lack of manual, car limit or always online.

Anyway, I'm not a fan of long winded debates on the net, so I'll draw the line here. Peace :) 👍

This is more like a bad Underground 2.5 instead of a good Underground 3.

A lot of people at reddit have been complaining of graphical issues as well (grainy-ness, blurriness, chromatic aberration). Also the non-responsive steering (apparently it gets better once you upgrade, but it shouldn't be like that) and the AI rubberbanding is atrocious it seems.

I don't know how far back in terms of build this beta is, but this isn't looking good.

Also, they should have based this in London, since the roads are always wet :p

My thoughts on the Beta, 3 hours in.

It is amazing. The cutomization is good although I would like the option to mirror my decals in the wrap editor. The cars sound amazing, especially the R34 GT-R. You get most of your money back for selling cars but not all of it. The pursuits are alot of fun and the cop cars are realistic with top speeds of around 120-140MPH and you can have some movie style moments as last night I sped past a cop at 140MPH in my GT-R and I ducked into a side street and turned my engine off and they just drove straight by and then I just drove past them again when I lost them. The game look absolutely amazing and the framerate seems to be at a stable 30, no lag or anything in solo mode. It seems you can only get the "preset wraps" if you have a preset bodykit on your car. AI does seem to have some rubberbanding, as I was driving my Challenger at 170MPH in one of the races and was destroying the AI when suddenly a 1971 GT-R just blasts pasts my Challenger. But I don't mind that as it keeps the races interesting. Music is nice and it does get louder the faster you drive. Cutscenes look really well done. Already at rep level 15. Can't wait to play more of this!

My 5 slots for the full game:
Nissan Skyline GT-R R34
BMW M3 E92
Porsche 911 Carrera RSR
Toyota Supra
Mazda RX-7

How does the hiding from cops work? Do you have to be out of sight or can you just stop around a corner and turn your lights off? Also have you tried changing the exhaust and did it change the sound much

Because we're the ones who continue to fund their studios by buying their games.

As for the 2nd underline, then no one is thread should be bringing up wanting manual transmissions. They've been excluded for years, yet folks keep asking the developers to include it. Who are these folks to ask EA to dictate their imagination that NFS is automatic-only....

Ghost games first NFS game, which EA funds if they don't sell as good as expected I'm sure some of these will be reversed. But if five car limit is what you think is the breaking point, please extrapolate and prove that.

True, no one should in a manner that seems to force the subject, I agree that to me it's more of an issue, but far from one stopping me to buy this game. Now if this was an issue of "we're going to bring feature A" and they don't or they do it in a hasty and bad way then why not argue it?

Also I like how you use my wording as I did toward the original poster I was quoting, people tend to think the studio should only do what fans say when that really isn't the case.

I did not mean that you were forcing your will upon others, sorry. My English isn't bad but it's still not my first language and sometimes I find it hard to convey the subtleties of my thought.

Just like I can't fathom how people will seriously use even a fourth of the car list on a same duration to one another through out the game, while still going about using say the 3/4ths they rarely use. i mean what's the difference in using a built Z28 vs a built mustang...other than to say "yeah I have both."

We both can't fathom the other so that's why I tried to end this earlier by saying that "you like have an issue with it for various reason and I don't, there isn't anything wrong with either" more or less.

My issue was when someone tries to force either idea down another persons throat...

Car list here with loads of screenshots, will probably get taken down soon

Not really my best collage job, but i tried my best.

There's enough posts in this thread if you read through them all, some serious & some poking light fun at the decision, that several folks are on the wall because of the limit. Which is pretty funny considering the more cars that are revealed, the more often the limit is referenced. And it will get worse when DLC starts arriving. If it was a hardware issue, I'd be more accepting of the reasoning, but because it "builds a bond" with virtual cars is pretty far fetched, imo. Never seen another racing game take such an approach based on personal viewpoint of the developer.

I did it because if you're going to tell someone that a developer shouldn't change to fulfill that person's niche, then there's no reason to people should be asking for manual transmissions every year.

Ignoring the fact that asking a developer to change 1 or 2 features is far from "dictating their imagination". That's a wild exaggeration.

As a car fan, surely you know every car is different right? Even if NFS is arcade and doesn't have the greatest physics in the world, each car is still subtly different. Even if they perform the same, it's still fun to see what different bodykits you can slap on and how the end result is. Isn't that why we play games? Fun and experimentation. Yes you can sell cars to make space but I feel it's making the process more convoluted that it needs to be.

That's great and all but really I don't see all that much more gained from one similar car to another, just preference at the end of the day. Same as buying a car in real life, and though a game that's the mindset I have playing this. And I don't feel it's convoluted at all, there is nothing that ties me to a car that I've grown bored of and that's any car game I play. So it gets sold.

That's to be expected among a forum full of car fans, but not the general buyer.

I'm not ignoring anything, I said personally manual feature of decision would be nice, just as another user said unlimited car garage would be nice. I only feel the manual feature would be something easy to implement and a more obvious optional thing where you can take it or leave it. Ultimately I see it in the same light as the five car limit or online only...and thus a reason why I will buy the game either way because of what it is that others aren't, quite simple

Also it isn't an exaggeration no more than a person claiming their precious creativity is stifled because at any one given time they can only build and tweak 1 to 5 cars rather than an unlimited amount...

I'd say thinking one dictates or holds the power in the direction of a devs idea on how to build a game first time out is far more restrictive. They feel that you can build a bond with five cars and obviously have enough variation to do the many different things the game allows, I agree which is why once again as I said earlier I see no issue.

for you and similar people complaining, wouldn't this be the point of a Beta so that you all can scout out glitches throughout game play and voice improvements that need to be made before release? so i hope you all reach out to the developers with these same complaints so that it can be changed and/or improved before release

Fair enough. Personally I play games because it allows me to do things I can't in the real world (unless you're Jay Leno). So I go crazy collecting and customizing as many cars as possible. At the same time I always bond with every car so I'm always sad to see any go. Different strokes for different folks I guess :)

You can pause single player, just press the center pad on the ps4. I have no idea how that works on XB1. It lets you access the menus. At least I think that paused it, maybe it carried on in the background.

Annoyingly I've already had several moments where I've needed the car to change down a gear and it hasn't done so, instead it stays in the higher gear like you're doing some sort of economy run. I'm hoping feedback from the beta will fix this, and I'm sure the AI issues will be fixed before full release too.

That's fine too, I just play to have fun with games like NFS. I take games like GT or FM far more serious for obvious reasons.

Maybe @KokosEnergy and @JASON_ROCKS1998 played two different games

JK of course but there are a lot of conflicting opinions on it on GAF as well, something I noticed in the videos is the lack of traffic and combined with the mediocre physics driving about seems boring.

Looks like a mix of Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York.

Five is an extremely small amount for a garage on a driving game in 2015, there is no if and's or but's about that, i'm not buying the "bond with virtual cars" mantra, If you're going to put 51 cars in a game, players should have the option to own all 51 at the same time, that's pretty much it, This is the first time i have ever heard of something like this besides the original NFSU, but even that had arcade mode so you could build more than 5 cars. But really, when you actually think about it What's the actual point of "bonding" with a car when you're going to sell it for something else? none of this actually makes any sense. forcing players to chose only 5 cars at a time, is very ridiculous. especially when the entire list is decent.

You spend all that time tweaking and developing the perfect car, only to sell it when you see that "Max garage limit reached" and now you want to sell your AE86 that you started the game with, for a BMW E46. Reality is going to hit you like a ton of bricks "Why the hell can't i have more than 5 cars in a game that i paid 60$ for?"

It's really just EA being typical EA, Simcity Dejavu. i can seriously see them adding "Garage DLC"
10 spaces for like 20$, or 20 spaces for 40$, 100 garage limit 99.99$" with a cheesy tag line like "Crave more space for your sweet rides? well we've got good news"

That second statement, i'm not even going to go there.

We've been over this read the entire thread see how people with the same question as you were answered and go from there.

The point is their may be minute changes due to overall dimensions of the two cars, but you get a powerful V8 rwd and after you've tuned the two of them what difference does it make which one you had. Both are going to be powerful cars that will come down to how well you set them up for whatever situation you take them to. And really from what Beta testing has told us, the only place such things matter is with online competition among other players. However, I don't see no need a Mustang, Challenger or Camaro when they all end up more or less slightly, doing the same thing for the package they offer.

If I want something with more rear balance and better COG as well as grip I'll get an AWD Mid engine car, but there are only so many of those for example. If i just want better COG and nimbleness then I'll decide between any one of the mid engine cars but I don't need all of them to get me to the same goal.

As for the selling factor I explained that, it would have nothing to do (for me) with Max limits. Rather if I'm bored with said car and feel there is something better to fill the role and have fun building then so be it, but I'm not going to sell cause I hit a limit and feel forced.
