Question: people eperiencing the speed problems are you playing on an old phat system?
It has thus far only happened to me once (but I have yet to unlock the higher tier cars). I'm playing on 160GB Slim PS3.

I'm playing on a 250 gig Phat, but this is the only game I've had an issue with slow down of this severity. I've done all the maintenance to keep my system up to spec, it plays any other game just fine. The only other game that has caused me slow down is the spirit of motherwill level for Armored Core: For Answer. That's it.

I experience the same glitch as in the video above when I'm going at high speeds for long periods of time. Most of the time when I'm just cruising, not so much when I'm racing.

I think NFS:HP was much better than The Run. HP, imo, is not only the best NFS game in years, but the best arcade racer in years.

Like I've said before, I really loved The Run so I disagree and I also disagree about it being the best Arcade racer for years. SEGA Rally Revo takes that hands-down for me. 👍 Or if it can be considered an 'arcade racer', Driver: San Francisco.

One of the main things that stopped me from playing NFS: The Run was the issue where hitting walls did not slow you down at all, was that ever fixed?

And thats why I won't play The Run. Back to NFS:MW2012, I'm begining to think that they did not have enough QA testing time to really iron out the bugs. Time will tell if they really continue to work on this game I guess.

It would've been a decent game if it weren't for the terrible physics, 'broken' multiplayer or the awful execution of the idea itself.

PS3 Slim 120GB here.
& to all the others who answered. When I had my Phat about 1.5 years ago on occasion it froze, lock up, not load games right, etc with newer games of the time. Upgraded to a Slim after it die & those same games ran with no problems, better looking graphics & I lost a space heater because the Slims throw off little heat.

I'm using a 160 phat, would've dusted it years ago but I couldn't figure out where the last screw was that was holding the aluminum plate down to the base.

That reminds me, I really need to start working on the Most Wanted list. I've only beaten #10.

You should get that out of the way. It'll clear up 30 jack spots in total. When I used map sources to grab the rest of the jack spots, I arrived at one I didn't have on my map and there was no car there. That's when I figured out it was for a MW car and only then did I learn I actually had only 6 spots left.

I have the same PS3. It happened to me frequently but only once I started using the higher tiered cars, i.e. Pagani, koenigsegg.

Even cars which aren't on the list? I assumed all non-Most Wanted cars and their jackspots were all unlocked from the start? Anyway, thanks for the heads-up. I guess I've just been having way too much fun kicking Bugatti-ass with my SLS AMG lately.

Urgh. I think the several freeze ups I've had and the occasional hiccups and framerate drops are bad enough. Hopefully they will soon release a patch or whatever that will make the game run without any issues.

They have to make several because clearly this game was rushed: there are some missing features like Hood view, dreamshots and some cars that were in a press event demo before, poorly optimized on PC, etc.

Of all the people to know the importance of polish, Criterion fail.

It's like they want to gift Black Box another shot and if they get it, they will take it.

They definitely would've needed more time to polish the game, but it's been an ongoing trend for a while - release first, patch whenever necessary. But in this case I believe that it's more likely that EA had a lot more to do with urging Criterion.

I was however not aware of the fact that they scrapped 'dreamshots'. It brought me endless hours of fun in Hot Pursuit. They must incorporate it!

LOL! Has anyone seen this yet?

Well I believe it's up to EA Gothenburg now, though I doubt they could make a high quality NFS Game within a year, unless they have already been working on it.

Just give us NFS Highstakes 2013, cockpit view handling system and everything, DONE! that's the last true NFS right there.

This! This so much. All the epic scenery and takedowns and no photomode, it sucks like hell.

Photoshooting in HP was a neat idea, but the lack of fine-tune photo adjustments sucked... 99% of the time, the contrast and brightness were either on default or +1, those settings were hella coarse, and there was no anti-aliasing.

Most Wanted Cars aren't anywhere to be "found". You have to race the guy, take him out, and then their jack spots will be available across town- no searching is required.

Non-Most Wanted cars are all scattered around Fairhaven and these are the ones you go searching for. If you can't find it, you can't drive it.

The point I was making before was a suggestion to win all MW races so that all their jack spots that will show up and you now have less to look for. If you're going to cave and find an image online that shows all jack spots (like me), this will make it easier to indicate which spots you haven't found yet.

I experience no frame rate issues or map load issues. *shrugs* It's apparently an issue with the disc version of the game. Also they obviously removed some cars for DLC purposes or legal issues.

Yeah, never ever blame the dev for "unfinished" games. It's always the publisher who forces them to make crap so they can make money.

I don't understand how I get the cars to online. I've found the Viper and did the 5 offline races. Now I went to online and I am unable to select it for driving as it does not appear on the list... Some cars still appear (like Focus, Aventador).

And second confusing part is about upgrading. I've unlocked every mod in offline for Aventador, but when I go online, the car is stock. How confusing is that. Only nitrous is available.

E: Turns out I have to earn speedpoints to unlock them. What kind of crap is that. Still looking for an answer about mods.

Mods don't carry over from offline to online, you have to unlock them all over again and I think they have a different set of requirements to get to the "Pro" version than offline.

Disregard what he wrote about Standard mods because it's all different for each car.

And some of those pro mods are for some cars.

The variety to my memory are:

Short Gears: 25 Near misses
Long Gears: 9000-something km oncoming (think this may have been offline)
Track Tires: Drift X amount.

And the magic number to "driving a certain distance" are: 8km, I think 16km, and 321km. Usually for standard mods and paints. For paints, there's that and specific number of takedowns, the highest number being 50.
