Have Fun!
There is only one statement in that article that interests me.Good news for ricer fans who've been begging for a new Underground.
If they release an Underground 3, I am definitely getting it!Underground 2 was and still is my most favorite and I hope they release a 3rd as well!
I am with ya'll, I hope they don't screw it up! They better have good customizations in there along with no cops because it wouldn't be worth it to me if it didn't.
Well your entitled to your opinion.I've always wanted an Underground with cops. NFSMW doesn't fill that gap for me.
Ghost takes control of the Need For Speed brandSwedish studio Ghost Games has been given control over all future titles in the Need For Speed series, studio head Marcus Nilsson has revealed - just a year after Need For Speed: Most Wanted developer Criterion announced that they had taken ownership.
Asked whether future games in the series would alternate between Ghost and Criterion year-on-year, Nilsson replied: "No, you're not going to see that."
But with Ghost now in control of Need For Speed, where does that leave Criterion?
"There's a small part of Criterion working on something else," Nilsson says. "Criterion is absolutely helping us out a lot on this game and would we make something next year or whenever we do it, it's going to be something that is ultimately driven from Ghost."
Hmmm, last year Criterion also took ownership of all future titles and now Ghost has taken ownership of all future titles?
Kind of defeats the puropse and the impact of the statement? ... just like a person that gets divorced and re-married 3 times.... the next time it kind of loses credibility
Digital Trends - April 15Criterion Games has been in the business of making very beautiful digital cars go very fast in spectacular digital worlds for a long time now over a decade in fact; from the original Burnout, which hit PlayStation 2 in 2001, to this years Wii U edition of the pristine open world racer Need For Speed: Most Wanted U. With the exception of the 2006 first-person shooter Black, this century Criterions only made video games about driving. No more according to creative director Alex Ward.
After over a decade of making racing games its time to make something new, said Ward on Twitter on Monday, It is early days thus I have nothing to announce or talk about.
But if you are following me expecting some megaton of a new Burnout game, or a [Need for Speed] Underground remake then I have to disappoint you.
Very interesting. I always liked the Burnout games and I enjoyed HP2010 for a while, but I've never been particularly partial to the wild and wholly artificial way Criterion programs their vehicle handling.A future of NFS with wacky Burnout-esque physics wasn't very appealing to me, although I admit HP2010 turned me off from even trying MW2012, so I don't really know what that one's like.
I've been tracking this thread with tentative interest; with this news, I'm intrigued by how Ghost will do with Rivals and subsequent titles.
MW2012 was bad as an NFS game, essentially Burnout Paradise 2 but was marketed as Most Wanted. The driving was exactly like Burnout, so I'm glad you skipped MW2012. 👍
Ive been thinking which system to buy it for, hear me out for a sec.
At gamescon Rivals was running on a PC with Windows 8 (PS4 controller attached).
Now Battlefield 4 (Frostbite 3) will support DX11.1 which is exclusive to Windows 8.
The Xbox One is a DX 11.1 system so there is a chance that since Rivals uses FB3 engine it could be optimized better?

The PS4 doenst use DX 11.1, Sony has their own graphic system API etc...

Ford Focus beating a Bugatti Veyron
I have done this before.
Hell, It was like that in the original MW as well. Beating super cars with the god damned Cobalt.
That racer pack about the Chevrolet C7 is a mistake.
Why does is the GameStop pre-order the SRT Viper TA? I thought I read it was the Corvette C7?
You're right! The sign below that you might've seen in-store was a mis-print, and the Ultimate Racer Pack includes the SRT Viper TA.

But don't worry! The Corvette C7 is still available in the game and does not require a pre-order to unlock.
I agree with you. What did they had on Most Wanted to consider it successful? There is no replay value on single player, where is the fun in borrowing a car? I miss the old times when I could buy a car with MY OWN MONEY, a Ford Focus beating a Bugatti Veyron, seriously??? The multiplayer was fun indeed except when everyone else stopped caring for the objectives and just started choosing their Bugatti's to take everyone out.
And that is why I don't like these new Need for Speed titles.MW2012 was bad as an NFS game, essentially Burnout Paradise 2 but was marketed as Most Wanted. The driving was exactly like Burnout,
I agree!👍 I am so glad Criterion is not going to be working with them anymore because I have hated every NFS title they have done since Hot Pursuit 2010. The main thing I didn't like about Most Wanted 2012 (as well as the rest of the Criterion titles they did) is the cars were way too sensitive to collisions and they also didn't have any good customizations (visual wise). I miss how the older 2nd generation titles like Carbon and Underground 2 used to be. Just my personal opinion of course. It was essentially an insult to true NFS fans, many of us wanted another Most Wanted and after Criterion made a good NFS game (not great though IMO), I was certain Most Wanted 2 was going to revitalise the franchise and get Criterion control over NFS. While the latter happened, the former did not. Instead, MW showed the future of NFS under Criterion, with all the awesomeness that made the PSX- Early PS3 era games great gone and in its place was Burnout. I'm glad Criterion stopped NFS, they knew their game was bad and gave it to Ghost. I just hope Rivals and beyond still isn't a drift festival as Criterion left it.
