Need for Speed: Rivals

Most likely Rivals was developed on the PC, Frostbite 3 is optimized for Windows DX 11.1. The ports trickle down from there.
The chameleon engine that powered hot pursuit and most wanted was developed by Criterion. Criterion is more of a console developer rather than a PC, hence the reported issues with most wanted running on a PC.

Most if not all games are developed on the PC, but with their own dev kit they make it for whatever console they are making it for. (Unlike GTA which has to get ported to the pc)

Just waiting for confirmation on quick race mode and manual transmission. If yes, then, I might take a look at this game, looks nice for sure.

Judging by the teaser it is going to be another a la Ridge Racer no skill drift fest like HP 2010. I hope I am wrong though, I've played NFS since TNFS on PSX, the original Hot Pursuit being my all time favourite (still play it from time to time). NFS started to go way down hill with the Underground series with one peaking moment which was the original Most Wanted. Then Criterion joined the picture and became the cancer of NFS with their Autolog crap, no manual transmission (really... in a racing game?!), Ridge Racer physics, no custom race, and fully focused on multiplayer which I don't like.

Single players have been fully forgotten about and ignored, with every new NFS announcement i'm hoping for a proper NFS racer with point to point races, custom races, High Stakes like customisation and physics, and hundreds of events. But with Criterion in the picture and present day EA who destroyed a lot of my favourite franchises (C&C as one) looks like it is not going to happen :(

I agree but on a sidenote, I enjoy Ridge Racer Physics - on Ridge Racer. Old school ridge racers like the V for Ps2 (the best imo) and the classics 1/2/revolution/rage/rave racer required plenty of skill, precision. Didn't played 6 or 7 so I can't comment on those.

Grid 2 decided that it wants to be Ridge Racer as well. Its not a bad game, its solid for what its for but its disapointing considering that despite being arcade the original Grid was focused more on racing line and proper cornering, unlike Grid 2 wich was built on a drift to win physics like RR. NFS stepped into this as you said since HP 2010, the game that started the true downfall of the series (no manual transmisison, no quick race mode).

Autolog leaderbords is a nice feature assuming the above basics are sorted. But sadly EA puts all the lasting appeal on online/autolog and forgot about the depth of the single player experience. Lack of manual and a quick race mode as you put, is utterly unnaceptable.

I wouldn't count on quick race mode to be honest but manual transmission? That's possible.

I completed hp 2010 and raced for some time online, and I must say that the challenge I got that game was from the handling of the cars that never felt right to me. (PC version, using xbox 360 controller) Not very responsive and not tight, unlike the other criterion racers such burnout paradise and most wanted that had responsive and tight controls (but very 'meh' games as well imo)

No it's not. It literally takes no skill to drift in that game.

You are wrong. Its easy to play but hard to master.
NFS HP is all about drifts, so its obvious that start and end drift is very easy, your times will suck if u wont drift properly. A lot of tricks are skilled as hell.
Your times depend of how good you control your car/drifts/nitro (and 2 last gears).
Its not like previous series (except shift), where you took most turns by wall driving, it sucks.

I play this game since 3 years and ppl who saying that game is no skill are over 20sec behind on finish line, what is funny.

EA announced November 22nd for Xbox One and PS4, for the NA, and the 29th for EU or for Current-Gen systems will be the 19th for NA, and 22nd for the EU.

Tidek
Its easy to play

You said it all right there. You can't tell me it's anything but easy to drift in those games. Quit being so thick and realize that turning and pressing R2 is all it takes to drift in that game. It didn't say anything remotely close to "being hard to master."(Lol)

Argh, I was really hoping it was going to be available on day 1 for PS4 launch!
Are you guys greeting it for the PS4 or the Xbox 1. I'm torn, I have it preordered for the PS4 but I've heard good
things about the rumble in the X1 triggers.

Then try to play against very good players and press "only" that R2, good luck.
In addition, away from race mode, nfs hp is still one of the best team biased game (I mean MW mode for ps3 and x360) and i hope NFS rivals will continue that, choosing 2 from 7 weapons is really good teamplay addition, for example cop team:
1 cop must have area weapons, like Roadblock and helicopter, 1 cop with short range weapons, next cop with long range weapons. Similar for racers team, but ppl who didnt play it enough, wont understand that.

Looks like the PC specs are like all the other games. So graphic wise might be not the best.

I told you -
Lamborghini Aventador LP 720-4 50° Anniversario as a RACER.
Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 as a COP.

You didn't believe me... But now I have proof.

I'm not convinced yet, althought the front grill does look exacly like the Aventador LP 720-4 50° Anniversario that they showed in Italy a few weeks ago.

With Watch_Dogs well and truly delayed from its original release date, NFS Rivals has November 19th dominated.

because of watch dogs being pushed ahead 6 months it pushed the crew ahead 6 months which stinks. hoping rivals Is good.

Anyone knows the model of that BMW behind the SRT Viper? It looks like a BMW M6 but i'm not completely sure.

Actually, it wasn't executing a drift that was difficult, it was executing a smooth drift with high exit speeds that required effort. Those who won races understood this overlooked mechanic in the game.

Looks like an M6 to me, especially with the little M6 badge on the front grille.
