Lotus Elise Race Car '96

Mission Race IB-1
Supercar Battle

Autumn Ring
Laps: Section
IB-1.jpg

Car: V16T '94

Winnings (in credits):
Gold: 5,500
Silver: 2,750
Bronze: 1,650

Target Times:
Gold: 36.500
Silver: 37.500
Bronze: 41.000

Tip: This car can be hard to handle! Throttle control and taking wider lines (further up the track and not so close to the inside rumble strips) is beneficial. Pass the Lambo on the outside and try to maintain control through the tight circle turn. On exit, be sure to line yourself up for the next chicane and muscle the 1st place car out of the way giving you the inside line on the last turn. Careful not to trade too much paint or take a harsh attack angle as that will get you disqualified.

Mission Race IB-2
Historic Race Car Battle

Circuit de la Sarthe 2013
Laps: Section
IB-2.jpg

Car: XJ13 '66

Winnings (in credits):
Gold: 5,500
Silver: 2,750
Bronze: 1,650

Target Times:
Gold: 34.500
Silver: 36.000
Bronze: 40.000

Tip: Out brake the first car going into the chicane. Be careful on exit as the green strip is out of bounds. Glide through the next chicane and easily pass the 1st place car on the inside before getting to the green posts. After that it's just a case of making sure you stay on the track for the last turn.

Mission Race IB-3
Kicking up Dust - Battle for Toscana

Toscana
Laps: Section
IB-3.jpg

Car: quattro S1 Rally Car '86

Winnings (in credits):
Gold: 5,500
Silver: 2,750
Bronze: 1,650

Target Times:
Gold: 51.000
Silver: 53.000
Bronze: 56.000

Tip: You must beat the Corolla before the sharp right hand U-turn. If not they will be in your way either causing you to hit them or make you take the outside line risking hitting the wall. Since I'm not a rally racer, I found that cutting the corners and having 2 tires on the "road" and the other 2 in the "weeds" seemed to give me a little more traction coming out of the turns, especially when passing the first car.

Mission Race IB-4
Motorsport Heaven - Battle for Ascari

Ascari Full Track
Laps: Section
IB-4.jpg

Car: F40 '92

Winnings (in credits):
Gold: 5,500
Silver: 2,750
Bronze: 1,650

Target Times:
Gold: 43.300
Silver: 45.000
Bronze: 49.000

Tip: Easy on the throttle with this beast as it loves to get the rear end kicking out. Out brake the Ferrari going into the first right turn. Being smooth will give you an excellent run on the Aston Martin before the left hander. If you find yourself passing the Aston late into the turn, the Aston will cut down in front of you! Hit your marks through the next section as you lock your sights on the Alfa. Draft the Alfa on the straight and then out brake and cut to the inside of the left U-turn, being careful not to lock up the brakes!

Mission Race IB-5
Old Meets New - Lamborghini Showdown

Brands Hatch Indy Circuit
Laps: 2
IB-5.jpg

Car: Miura P400 Bertone Prototype CN.0706 '67

Winnings (in credits):
Gold: 5,500
Silver: 2,750
Bronze: 1,650

Target Times:
Gold: 1:48.000
Silver: 1:50.000
Bronze: 1:56.000

Tip: Be careful on the start. With the front stretch being "self cleaning" (high degree of banking) it can cause you to struggle if you nail the throttle. Once again, the other Lambo is pretty easy to catch, but it doesn't go away easily, especially on the straights. Be mindful of where the AI is at when you approach the turns and be prepared for a possible bump on corner entry. Just be smooth, keep the car under control, and check your mirrors.

Target Time:
Gold: 3:10.000
Silver: 3:15.000
Bronze: 3:20.000

Tip: Accelerate only to the speed that you need to get up to when approaching the corners, so you don't have to hit the brakes at all and coast through the turns taking the best line not scrubbing off huge amounts of speed. If you find yourself towards the end and running out of fuel, be sure to hit the .1L mark and try coasting from there.

Cone Challenge: Trial 4

Time Goals:
Gold: 33.000

Tip: Stay smooth and focus on your line following the cones. There is no need to go balls to the wall through the turns. You might have to tap the E-brake or swing the car into the pile of cones at the end.

Cone Slalom 2
Special Stage Route X
Laps: Section
IA-1.jpg

Car: NSX Type R '02

Target Times:
Gold: 17.800
Silver: 18.500
Bronze: 23.000

Tip: Man, I can't stand the cones!!! They are way too sensitive. I honestly think the have a huge invisible force field around each and every one of them. Biggest challenge is trying to keep the rear of the car under control. Consistent throttle or tapping the gas button is the way to go.

IA-2
Turning While Braking
Ascari Full Track
Laps: Section
IA-2.jpg

Car: Corvette Stingray (C7) '14

Target Times:
Gold: 22.800
Silver: 23.500
Bronze: 27.000

Tip: This car is a silent beast. For the most part, it's easy to keep it in check, but don't let it fool you. Accelerating out of low speed turns can hurt. Speed up through the first section and swing towards the cones on the left side. As soon as you get up to them, brake hard while turning into the corner. Try to set yourself up with the straightest line coming up and through the tight chicane. Careful on exit as the edge of the track can come up pretty quick.

IA-3
Dealing with Extreme Inclines
Matterhorn Dristelen
Laps: Section
IA-3 .jpg

Car: C63 AMG '08

Target Times:
Gold: 22.000
Silver: 22.800
Bronze: 25.500

Tip: Accelerate up the hill and swing to the right side of the track after the little left hand jog. Hit the brakes, and only turn in a little, when you pass over the shadow on the track from the 50m sign. (Last shadow) Swing wide into the turn and don't cut right down to the apex. This turn is sharp and high banking, so spinning out on acceleration is easily done, unless you put in as little steering input as needed. Maintain control as the tail happy Merc hits the crest on the next right hander. The cones on the right helps give you a guide on where the track is over the blind hill.

IA-4
Driving in the Wet 1
Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps
Laps: Section
IA-4.jpg

Car: GT-R Black edition '12

Target Times:
Gold: 38.500
Silver: 40.000
Bronze: 44.000

Tip: For this test I decided to try setting the ABS to 0, and it took quite a bit of getting used to. Smooth braking and acceleration is needed. You will look slow, and it's easy to get impatient and want to get out of the corners as fast as possible, but easy on the throttle and don't lock up the brakes! There might be some trial and error on your braking and turning in marks, but after a few attempts, you should easily get the gold. (Update: I did this test again on my childrens account with ABS 1 and beat my original time...guess I should take my own advice and be patient!)

IA-5
Driving in the Wet 2
Suzuka Circuit
Laps: Section
IA-5.jpg

Car: 458 Italia '09

Target Times:
Gold: 29.500
Silver: 32.000
Bronze: 36.000

Tip: The first turn is kinda blind, but it's of huge importance to get it right as it sets you up through the rest of the chicanes. Easy throttle and very little braking (if any) and you'll be through there pretty quick. When approaching the left hander at the top of the hill, I found alot of speed from swinging in wide, waiting on the front of the car to catch grip, and accelerating through the rest of the corner. The rear grip will be there....if you wait until the car is planted.

 IA-1 is not a good test for me...none of the rally or slalom ones are. Here's a sad fact, I completed these tests on my kids' account as well, and I beat my time by a lot on theirs.:banghead: You'll have to keep me up to date. Leaving in 2 days.:yuck:

Edit: You might want to take another look at IA-1...I gained a little bit of time.:dopey: I was going through the Super license today, but only got to do the first one...had to pack:(

Target Times:
Gold: 47.200
Silver: 49.000
Bronze: 54.000

Tip: You need to pass the NSX before the chicanes on the backstretch, if you don't he will be in your way and tough to pass. Hunt down the GT-R and pass them on the last turn leading to the finish line.

Target Times:

Silver: 44.000
Bronze: 47.000

Tip: Navigate the chicane with perfection then outbrake the BMW on the first left turn. Draft the Audi down the straightaway and outbrake them going down into the tight chicane, either inside or outside, it all depends on where you catch the Audi because he does lean towards the inside.

Tip: Try your best not to bump draft, either the concrete AI cars will cause you to lose control, or with a hard enough "bump" you will get disqualified. The great thing about this car is if you do get 2 wheels in the grass, you can still control it for the most part....as long as you don't panic!

Tip: You have tons of grip with SRF being locked on, take full advantage of it! Careful of the spray coming off the Subaru as you come up the hill. After passing the Subaru, draft the Mitsubishi and then outbrake him going down into the turn. Head after the Mazda through the chicane and outbrake the Mazda going down into the left U-turn.

Car: Dino 246 GT '71

Silver: 4,500
Bronze: 2,700

Target Times:
Gold: 1:45.500
Silver: 1:48.000
Bronze: 1:53.000

Tip: Once again a 3 second head start for the computer, but they seem to wait on you to catch them at the bottom of the hill coming out of the first turn. Your best chance of beating the newer quicker Ferrari is through the turns and blocking on the straights. Easier said than done because the Dino handles like a half filled bath tub (tons of body roll) You will def have to rear view drive as you head down the last straight towards the finish line. As the picture shows, you will have to block and hold on because the other Ferrari will try to drive through you!

I like how you've captured the essence of GT6 with this thread.

Four months and we're still waiting for the first tune. :sly:
Cheers for that. Yes, it's been quite some time since starting this thread and I've wanted to be done with the walkthrough portion by now, but with working out of the country; kinda hurt my time line. That and you can imagine the honey-do list I have after being gone for weeks at a time. But I've got 2 months off before the next stage, so GT6 will be getting a workout!

Tip: When approaching the back straightaway, try to find yourself a draft buddy to break away from the other cars. Leap Frog drafting is the technique I used. Draft and pass, let them draft and pass you, then rinse and repeat. When coming up to the final turn, make sure you are the one drafting to get the speed to pass and leave your drafting buddy in the dust!

Target Times:
Gold: 57.300

Car: Aventador LP-700-4 '11

Target Times:
Gold: 1:34.500
Silver: 1:36.000
Bronze: 1:39.000

Tip: Be bold on the back part of this track. A lot of time is gained/lost based on how brave you are going through some of those turns. There will be some sliding and tires screaming, but if they begin to smoke, then you probably entered the corner a little too hot.

S-5
1 Lap Time Trial

Laps: 1
Super License-5.jpg

Car: Veyron 16.4 '09

Target Times:
Gold: 2:14.000
Silver: 2:16.000
Bronze: 2:20.000

Tip: What a pig!!! It can't corner very well, but it can shoot out of the turns like a greased pig. Use its acceleration to your advantage. On most turns it is best to use the "Slow In/Fast Out" approach. Do most of your braking in a straight line and enter the corners at what appears to be a snails pace, and as soon as you hit the apex, smash the gas and hold on!

Not sure why, but the leader decided that he wanted to park up on this turn. Sad thing is, I followed him and had to slam on the brakes to make the turn....I can be such a rookie sometimes!
Circuito di Roma_2.jpg

The followers always seemed to be within striking distance...

This Evo was tuned by @shaunm80 for the FITT STi vs Evo shootout. It is a flexible but solid tune and if you can step on a gas pedal, you can surely drive this car.

Tips: I don't know if this would be considered a tip, but have you noticed the AI in this race? You start off with a 13+ second gap to make up, which can be wiped out easily within 1-1/2 laps. So why is it that you are running the same lap times, but yet the second place car isn't dropping more than 3 seconds behind? It kinda reminded me of a term that was used when I was young called (going to show my age with this one) Bear Bait. Where, if you are speeding (which I'm not agreeing to) and there is a car in front of you speeding as well, to leave a large gap between the two of you. The idea is that the Bear (police) would either clock the first car and pull out behind them giving you a chance to slow down or the first car sees the Bear first and hits their brakes, giving you plenty of time to see what is going on ahead. Either way, you are using the first car to do your dirty work.
