I like it, but to be honest, they would be better off not producing it and focusing on improving what they can on their current line. Supercars are nice, but they're not exactly cash cows when you make only 100 of a certain car per year.

Hiya! :D :O  Meow! (='.'=)

I agree with you on that, except that I don't like the car. I personally think this is a bad move for BMW to make into production. I just get the feeling that this isnt very "BMW"ish and is just a something in an attempt to get a share of the supercar market, but will fail at it. :O

anyone else notice it is missing a roof?

Did the old M1's come in convertible?

could somebody post the pic(attach it to the forum) , as my proxy is blocking that pic

Not unless some guy like that T-Top Enzo owner chopped his off.

I'd rather they made it Cayman style. The idea of a soft M1... ehh.

Ahhh that's beautiful, and it's good to see that they plan on making one that is worthy of the original M1's successor rather than making a "M1" by using the current 1 series and ruining the M1 name.

I would rather have it be a coupe than a convertible though, just becuase a convertible loses just that little bit of body rigidity and is a bit heavier than a coupe usually.

The rear reminds me of the Carrera GT and the Audi LeMans Quattro concept.

I did if you look at THE VERY FIRST POST

After reading it, that mag was lying.

They were saying it was the 'spiritual succesor', but this car is actually going to be the new Z car.

The Z10 as a matter of fact.

Those pics are from the same mag, and mine are better, just wait for them to rezise in your browser.

Nice Car!

I Like the styling and I like the sound of the V10´s from BMW
. Hope you can buy a "closed" version too.

Have Fun

what I ment is uplad them to the forum as I can't open those links

Yeah, it will have an electric hard top like it's rivals.

I read it in the article.

the back-end is similar to the Lexus LF-A concept!! VERY similar I think.

You're insane. People on dial up can't view those pictures, and people with firefox also can't view them unless they have a movie theater sized resolution. meh.

GT's pics get the job done. those super hi resolution are nothing but overkill, and the fact that they're blurry completely defies the purpose in taking them in the first place.

because it is. also has rear valance from the m5 and front lights of the current 3 series. side scoops (slightly modifed), shoulder line, fender arch and door cut from the audi le mans quattro.

photoshop anyone? :dunce:

the whole story is speculation and they got some guy to ps up a picture. i wont believe anything until its officially from bmw's press release, or at least an official photo, even a disguised mule/prototype. all these magzines need to stop these blatant lies/rumors 👎

Its got a rear end like the up coming audi R9 aka lemans concept. Alos and more importantly it looks alot like the upcoming VW mid engine sports car. I will post a pic of the VW in question when I can find the pic.

90% of the parts of that car are of the M6.
Photoshop, eh?

those side intakes and the curves of the front end give it away. It's almost impossible for them to be that well defined under natural sunlight :)

As the dude off of Team America would say, Jesus titty ****ing christ!

I thought it looked pretty good. Only thing that bugged me was the front grille. It's not functional, is it? I agree with the rear looking like the Lexus concept car and as emad said, I don't know if it'll be profitable for BMW to compete in the exotic car market.

Where's the proof that this is a new Z car?

That Z8 rocked, it was right on par with a Modena 360.

Meh. To be honest with you I don't think that car is very good looking at all, and certainly not up to the normal high Bangle standards. <<Yes, I mean that seriously, as I am a fan of all Bangle BMW designs, especially the Z4 and the new 3 series. This photoshop job falls flat on it's face where actual Bangle designs excel. Such as the unique surface play that results in interesting light patterns and the impression that all his designs are chiseled from solid stone. Plus, this car has no one cohesive design theme that carries throughout the car. They did a half-decent(well, not even half decent) job on the front end, but then simply lost there way after that, stealing the side air inlet design from the Gallardo, overall proportions from the Volkswagen Roadster concept, and a rear end straight off the Lexus LF-A concept. A rear end design that would never make it to production on any modern BMW. The person that made that sad excuse for a BMW design needs to be slapped in the face for insulting the creative genius of Chris Bangle. :irked:

Ever think that because it just suddenly popped up out of nowhere they've been planning it and designing long ago? BMW is notoriously secretive about their designs, only releasing much of them at the last minute. The Lexus supercar is probably just over-publicised and thus more people think it came out before/was designed earlier.

Doesn't matter. It's my 2 cents.

Someone had already made that point, you made it again, so it isn't your two cents, it's the other persons, only you've repeated it.

This is the new Z car because BMW said so, it is codenamed 'Large Roadster', and will replace the Z8, but there was a Z9 concept, so this will have to be called the Z10.
