Okay, I've been looking through the Official San Andreas Website and I just thought I'd help out the other 56K'ers like myself by posting some things off of there. I've been through all of San Fierro:

-- Mount Chiliad is huge. The plane (and possibly helicopter) vertical limit has been raised, and you can now fly higher it seems.
-- The Ammu-Nation guy looks and talks more suited to the role. He also hands the gun to CJ, instead of it appearing in your hands. Great improvement.
-- The Freeway looks cleaner (graphics-wise).
-- There is an RC (Remote Control) Toy Shop. What buying RC toys entails, I don't know. Maybe they will become a part of your inventory. Who knows? (Except Rockstar)
-- There are airports in both Los Santos and San Fierro, meaning that Las Venturas will almost definately have one. This makes me believe city-to-city flights are possible via passenger airlines.
-- Gant Bridge has a Gift Shop and "Boring Museum".
-- In a Pay 'n' Spray video, there is a nice car being chased by the police and possibly another gang or enemy. He drives into Pay 'n' Spray, a realistic spraying sound is triggered and he comes out. The interesting part is that the cops still have their sirens on and by the sound of it seem to still be speeding after you. This could quite possibly mean that the Cops will still try and find you, thus improving on the "flashing stars" system from Vice City. Also, gunshots are still fired at CJ, but this could be another gang or enemy.
-- One thing that excited me was that you can now ship/export vehicles! You will probably make money out of this, too, how much may depend on the car (not confirmed, just guessing, but the exporting is confirmed). This is great for realistic roleplay/"storyline" purposes, as you can steal some cars for someone and ship them off.
-- The Valet sub-missions look great. They stop their vehicle, walk off, and you hop in and drive it to it's designated parking area (this could also prove for some hilarious car-theft). Cars now drive around in the garages, coming in and driving out, and also parking it seems. One thing that caught my attention in this video is that the car screeched inside when turning a sharp corner. They weren't going fast either, but cars do that. The screech sounded very real, too, even the echo did! Also, the handling of the cars have improved it seems, to make it more realistic.
-- There is a big windy, downhill road in San Fierro that could be great for stunts. It also connects to an intersection, where, at the other side is a downhill road that seems fairly nicely sloped. More great chances for stunts and jumps.
-- The Kombi Van is well-done. The engine is bad, it even backfires. It produces a lot of smoke, and the damage looks good.
-- The clothes shops look good. You walk into the change room, select your clothing and walk out styling it. The poorer the clothes shop, the friendlier the people, too.
-- There is a marijuana farm, too: "The Farm".
-- Alex's Hot Dogs is owned by a man that is "believed to have ben a mechanic who once worked with organised crime in Vice City. Constantly stoned." Who could it be? Is this guy "Alex"? Who was a mechanic from Vice City?
-- San Fierro's "Corvin Stadium" is home to the "Sixty-Niners". Sport unknown, but I suspect maybe basketball by the look of the stadium. The team seems to be fairly average.

Also, does anyone know the big deal about that pointy sky-scraper in Downtown San Fierro? They call it "sick" and say the architect needs help. I don't understand.

Listen to the funny comments made on the Police Radio, and look for some wise-cracks in the info about each area.

I'll be back with Los Santos soon.

I wonder if I'll be able to board a plane, and then sit down and wait tol land like you do in real life. That or you can attempt a hi-jacking. I also wonder whether or not you can watch people pull in, and then get out, and walking inside a building along with them coming out, getting in their car, pulling out, and driving away. A the building is somewhat strange.

Actually, there is a building in California that is the exact same way as that. SO, you can say there is a real life building in San Andreas.

R32GTST/M -- I found the exporting of goods in Easter Basin. Also, the no loading thing is excellent, noticed it straight away. And God do I love that Mountain.

McLaren F1GTR -- I think boarding the planes (if you can do this) and getting on the trains to go to places will be similar to GTA 3 where it does cut scenes. Trams, on the other hand, will be like "Mafia", in that you will stand on them until you want to get off. I think a button will be assigned to ring the bell on the Tram to get off.

BMW318 DRIFTER -- Welcome to the GTA Forum. Grab yourself a bib on the way in. I'm Jimmy Enslashay, I do crazy posts like the one above where I use my 56K modem to browse through large flash sites and post information until 4AM. :dunce:

Los Santos will come tonight. Already got a few things noted.

Sorry for the double post in the quick amount of time, but there are a lot of people viewing this thread and they won't look at a post twice. So I'm doing this for their benefit.

Steve Scott is back:
GTAGaming.com posted an udpate saying that IMBd.com had posted an update of some cast and crew. They didn't say who, but I browsed through and found Steve Scott (still voiced by Dennis Hopper). For the rest of the cast, click here.

NOTE: The voice of CJ hasn't bee updated yet, so there could be more cast and crew to be added soon. Keep an eye out.

Yeah ive just been on there and seen that, didnt know any of the othere actors though, but it does reveal a few names of charactors we havent heard about before.
Also ill have to wait till you update us on the Los Santos part of the official site cause it does'nt seem to work on my comp.

I really have to stop reading this thread, It's making it seem like San Andreas is taking even longer to come out.

Yeah. Same here, but I don't think I could stop keeping up with the info and I definately don't think I could stop posting stuff here!

I've got GTA:SA arriving soon too. My brother is buying it for me, as my Birthday present. He's gonna have a play around on it himself first, then he's gonna send it over.

Two words spring to mind. Well ok Three words........................ ROAD TRIP BABY!!!!! w00t.

My plans. Steel a good car and find a house. Then after that, I'm gonna go road tripping. :D

I cant stop thinking about how good this will be! It even got me playing GTA3 just to brush up......ok you got me LEARN the skills better. I played it a bit when it first came out but my save file dissapeared and i sort of gave up.

I have a 56k to and have looked over the site for the last 2 days but haven't really gone into detail on it. I think I will need to collect my bib looking over the screen shots and stuff like pictures of him getting a hair cut and pictures of him being fat as a whale and ordering pizza. I will be in here more frequently from now on and thanks for the welcome Jimmy.

BMW318_DRIFTER -- If you have nothing better to do one day, then just browse through here. Me and a few others update this thread with GTA:SA news as soon as it comes out, so everything GTA:SA can be found here.

DRIFT4EVA -- I've been playing Vice City ALOT lately for 2 reasons. To get a few more records and practice for San Andreas. But you can only learn the basic controls, as there are more features you will need to practice in San Andreas.

Also, I found this earlier this morning when I posted the Steve Scott info, but I couldn't be bothered posting as it wasn't overly exciting. But it's still worth a mention, so here it is now:

Salvatore Leone Wallpaper on Official San Andreas Website:

"There is a background image of a man who appears to be Salvatore Leone on the official San Andreas site. It's the background for the "Screenshots" section at the top of the page."

He looks a little younger, but still intimidating. I think that you probably will cross paths with him or work for him in Las Venturas, and he will probably own a Casino there.

Meh! I suppose. Ofcourse I'm gonna say the first thing that springs to mind, because GTA:SA will be my first GTA game. So I just assumed that you could immediatly take the streets and go places. I have very rarely played any other GTA game. I'm a GTA virgin.

DRIFT4EVA
I'm a GTA virgin.
Well I will warn, San Andreas will metaphorically have sex with you, and there's nothing you can do to stop it really. You will receive Grand Theft Auto-gasms. Most of us are experiencing them some-what now.

But, you can immmediately take to the streets in San Andreas, the controls haven't drastically changed. But there are new features, like I said, but don't worry - they won't stop you from taking to the streets.

Just thought I would post some information off the Ofiicial GTA:SA website. Gives some information about the gangs. Sorry if any is a repost.

Da Nang Boys
Vietnamese Street Gang
Extremely Violent
At war with local Chinese triads
Uncontrollable, Major interests in protection

Juniper Hollow
Tanker
Popular with Asian gangs for smuggling

San Fierro Rifa
Hispanic Street Gang
Dislike of Mexican Gangs from Los Santos
Possible involvement in Cocaine trade
Further information classified

The Ballos
The Ballos are one of the major criminal organisations in Los Santos. A street gang that have been around since the 1970’s wear colour purple. Thought to denote respect on streets. Involved in drug dealing, gang banging, prostitution, arms dealing, vandalism, degeneracy, sworn enemy of all family sets, especially Orange grove street. Origins shrouded in mystery, heavily involved in cocaine trade, thought to be developing ties with Mexican and Russian mobs.

Here it is - Los Santos:

-- Grove Street is the street that ends in the little cul-de-sac located in Ganton. In the end cul-de-sac live the more senior members of the OGF. My guess is that's where CJ will live. Maybe at Sweet's house.
-- The Ballas seem to drive Voodoos. If Rockstar stick with the "each gang only drives one type of vehicle" thing, then expect the Voodoo to remain a gang car, owned by the Ballas.
-- There seems to be 2 different types of gang groups in the OGF. The more common one you see, with the fat guys in green sweaters, etc. Another wear green basketball jerseys, and singlet tops.
-- The gangs look like they communicate with each other better, and act like they own the streets more. They look at each other and talk while they're walking, and make hand gestures while moving. They're mouth moves, too. They look more dominant too. They also have better shoot-outs on foot. They all shoot together, and don't run right up to the enemy's face to shoot. They stand from a distance. The gun shooting animations are more realistic looking too. I think the handgun animation is alot more improved.
-- For the Haircut animations, he does it real quick. And I think you can get it cut from a shaved head to an Afro, so I don't think hair grows. It still might though, which would be great. And it wouldn't be hard either. On second thoughts, all of what I just said could be wrong.
-- It seems all of the places you can enter don't stand out, they blend in with the non-enterable buildings. That's a good improvement.
-- Market looks like a nice place. The Verona Shopping Mall looks great. Market is also home to "Blastin' Fools Records", apparantly the number one Gangster Rap Label in the world.
-- "Didier Sachs" is the most expensive clothing place in Los Santos, and probably San Andreas. The picture with CJ in the blue suit comes from "Didier Sachs".
-- I believe you can stay at the Rodeo Hotel, and I'm hoping (for realism) you have to pay for it. It is a possibility. Maybe every time you save there, you pay a fee?
-- Mulholland is the equivalent to Hollywood Hills. It looks nicely structured and set out.
-- Read the info about Burger Shot in Mulholland...Disturbing. I'm not eating there, I'm sticking with Well-Stacked Pizza Co.!
-- "Radio Los Santos" sounds like one of the Rap Stations. It is run by "Madd Dogg", who lives in Mulholland. The name alone could mean that when you go to different cities, you could lose track of some stations and pick up others. You may only hear Country Music in the Country! But I doubt it. Would be cool though.
-- "Northstar Rock" is part of Red County, Los Santos' country. Obviously a play on GTA developers "Rockstar North".
-- "Drive-Thru Confessions" in Palomino Creek. I don't know if or how this can be used, but I laugh at the picture on the sign. Looks like Dan Akroyd.
-- Palomino Creek Bank is open, and apparantly gets robbed alot. Looks like this has been added to the "Stores Robbed" list...finally. I don't know why Rockstar didn't let you rob it in Vice City...
-- "Hanky Panky Point" is the make-out place, up in Red County. Cars are parked there. Whether they actually drive in and out, and people are in cars here I don't know. It would be cool if random cars started rocking here.
-- There are a LOT of gangs in San Andreas. There are like 3 Hispanic gangs so far, at least 2 Homeboy gangs, Chinese Triads, Russians, Mexicans, maybe Hippies and probably Country gangs. I think the Russians are in Las Venturas. The Mafia may be there (with Salvatore Leone), too, but maybe not as noticeable as in GTA III, because the Mafia don't walk around town claiming to be the Mob and being so obvious in real do they?
-- By the looks of a couple of movies, I don't think the gangs are restricted to one type of car. I think 2 cars for some gangs, and the smaller ones drive 1. Which is good IMO.
-- I think you can put hydraulics in any car, because I've now seen 3 different types of cars with them. All have been gang cars, but it's still possible.
-- You can go into the Los Santos Police Station, and maybe the others in San Fierro and the Countrysides.
-- The cops actually stand outside in a group, taking cover and shooting at whereever you're situated, as opposed to running in like idiots. I'm VERY happy about this.
-- Apparantly, the Beach Parties are impromptu. They also occasionally turn into gang-wars, which means either anyone can spawn at the parties, or anyone turns up. Hopefully the latter, because I hate spawning. At these Beach Parties, cars and 4-wheeler bikes are parked, people are dancing, and some are sitting next to the fires...including CJ. This could mean CJ can actually sit!
-- Richman Country Club is for Tennis and Golf...much like the Vice City Country Club.
-- The centre of San Andreas is Blueberry Acres, a farming community. To the West is the "Panopticon". It is a large hill that can look over Flint and Bone Counties and the Easter Basin Airport.
-- One place in the desert is known as Bone County.

I also noticed that a fair few of the names of towns come from GTA 1 and 2. Well mainly 2, eg. Ganton, Market...Maybe I'm wrong, but those names sound familiar.

Also, since Red County, Flint County, Bone County and Whetmore are all areas on their own, are they classed as Citys?

That's all. Stay tuned for Las Venturas when it is available!

Just to correct you and expand on what you said, pimpin_t:

It's the Ballas, not Ballos. Juniper Hollow is a place, not a gang.

The gangs so far are:

Los Santos:
Orange Grove Families (OGF)
The Ballas
The Mexicans
Varrios Los Aztecas
Los Santos Vagos

San Fierro:
San Fierro Rifa
Da 'Nang Boys
Shining Razor
Butterfly Children
Chinese Triads

Las Venturas:
The Russians (At least I think they are here)

That's what I could find so far. There will be more in Las Venturas, but they don't have Las Venturas on their site yet.

Good info JIM! have no idea why the Los Santos part of the site does'nt work on my comp though GRRRR!oh well keep it up.

Just under 1 month to go.....just under 1 month to go....just under 1 month to go.

Tomorrow starts October.

But for some reason, something tells me, somewhere, some time, on Halloween night, some body is going to be seriously injured by some kid or teen b/c they got so excited that SA would be coming out the next month, and that they would have be influenced by the updates and news.

Somewhere on Earth. BUt maybe I'm thinking things, but I've dreamed things before, then later on another day, it will feel like Deja View. But like I said, maybe I'm thinking things and am too exicted. Just have to wait and find out.

Heh, I got something planned for Halloween, hehe...........

Nice wording. 👍

I've played the Driver series before, so I have the gst of the whole thing. Ofcourse the GTA series absolutely rapes the Driver series, but I have a rough idea of what I'm doing.

Nice info too. Now I think I'm starting to join you guys in having Grand Theft Auto-gasms.

That would be de-ja-vu. And you're a scary man sometimes.

I absolutely hate Driver. First, they rip a lot of stuff of Grand Theft Auto, and then they think they are big men by putting hidden package type things in the game called "Timmy Vercotti"s. Well Driv3r, you are small and minature seeing that GTA is raping your sales, reviews and game in general, and that you can't even come close by even ripping GTA off.

Yep. That's why I'm moving to the real thing. Well that's what it seems like, looking at the info. I mean who wants to steal the same car, over and over again? Not me. The GTA series is so much better.

I'm prone to injury, so it could be me. :nervous: :scared: :(

Sweet shots! Nice to see different assortments of motorcycles.:)

I want that touring bike. Now.

I can't wait to do some good sightseeing along the countryside of SA! That will probably be the highlight of the game for me.

The new screenshots, originally posted by R32GTST/M, can be found at GTAGaming.com, here is a few small details about them:

  • The chopper looks more realistic for a start. Looks like my theory about the vertical limit being raised for Planes and Choppers being correct. In the bottom of that picture is that windy, steep hill I mentioned in my San Fierro update. Looks like fun.
  • The Faggio has been improved, and looks great.
  • That old-style convertible looks nice, too. Reminds of something off the game "Mafia".
  • The Reefer is back, and has been turned into a better looking fishing boat with a net and some fishing boat features added. The water actually looks a bit dirty in the Port, which is great as it gives a more realistic feel.
Also, Rockstar's Webmaster sent the pictures with the following email:
"Hey guys,

As we promised in August, here is your September batch of exclusive fansite screens. For the next 24 hours these are fansite exclusives. Thanks again everyone. We appreciate your continued support and hard work.

Enjoy!
Webmaster@R*"

Any idea what "Fansite Exclusive" exactly means?

NOTE: Couldn't be bothered figuring it out so I just kept my brief analysations. Still not showing. Just go to GTAGaming.com.
